Awesome food at a good price w/great customer service. What keeps me coming back is their chipoltle sauce and they even let me in on how they make it. The sauce makes everything it touches addictive. It can’t get better than this!

Had a BOGO Burrito coupon. The cashier, Hanna(cute young lady with glasses) was very polite and helpful. When I am in the area, I will visit this place again, even though parking is horrible.

The Food was like any other Rubio’s since i’m talking about a chain restaurant. What makes this Rubio’s different from the rest of the other i have been to is the Customer service. The staff is super friendly with a genuine smile all the time. The thing about chain restaurants is that the pictures which advertise their food always look better than what you order. Well i have to admit that I ordered a Lobster burrito and it came just as the picture described it. They have a pretty legit Salsa bar better than any other Authentic Mexican restaurants. They do a good job at keeping clean that salsa bar. I also liked their unsweetened tea selection. My favorite was their mango Tea drink. I will definitely come back when ever i’m craving fresh Baja-Mexican food.

We went here and had the fish tacos. 3 – 4 hours later, montezuma’s revenge began. Puking and diarrhea for the next 12 hours. Thanks a lot rubies. DONOTGOHERE!!!

I live down the street so I come here often. Often enough that some of the cashiers know me. And they know my strict no dairy, no gluten diet. Super friendly and always get my order right.

I think Rubio’s improve the menu a lot. My tacos were great. I would improve a little on the beans. I definitely recommend their chicken tacos. The place is very nice and they bring the food to your table. I also used the restroom and it was Clean.

I was at this Rubio’s restaurant in La Mesa, Grossmont Center location yesterday for a quick lunch. I ordered one fish taco Especial. This taco is supposed to have cheese and guacamole on it. The man working there brought my taco outside where I was sitting. It had NOCHEESEANDNOGUACAMOLE on it. So I went in the restaurant and found the man that served me and told him. He said there was, they were under the fish. I looked and didn’t see any so told him no there wasn’t, he argued with me and me, saying I was wrong. I ate it BUT: THEREWASNOCHEESEANDNOGUACAMOLEANYWHEREONORUNDERTHEFISH. This is the second time I have had a problem with this Rubio’s located at Grossmont Center in La Mesa. I will NEVER go to this place again AND I will tell anyone who mentions the place how bad they are. They ripped me off and charged me for it!

Although the servers are friendly, this is the second time I have been to this location & it takes forever to get the food. I only had one person ahead of me when I ordered and I am 10 minutes into the wait.

Average Tacos. I do like the fact they have bowls and salads though. Taco Tuesday is another awesome deal they always have going, would give 3 and a half stars

Ah remember the days when rubios first started and the San Felipe style tacos had crispy fish and fresh tortillas. And yummy beans. The rubios fish taco today resembles cat food and not as good as jack and the box’s tacos. Beans taste like canned. Sad

The Grossmont Center Rubio’s is my favorite, although admittedly, I have not visited every location in the county(And have no plans to do so!). The restaurant was exceptionally clean, about half its capacity occupied by happy diners. My wife and I ordered almost immediately after entering. Nachos and a fish taco today. Both items were up to Rubio’s high standards, and both were delicious. The salsa bar is one of the best in town. The food was delivered to our table. The generous portion of nachos was served on wax paper, backed by a hard plate, and metal silverware was provided. Personally, I don’t miss plastic plates and utensils one bit. They are still available for To Go orders, of course. This location give its diners a spectacular view: The parking lot. No problem, I was ogling my nachos, anyway. Fortunately, dogs are limited to the smallish outdoor patio area. It was a good, satisfying lunch, with two soft drinks, costing about $ 13. I’m a fan.

In my experience rubios is hit or miss. The chain is terribly inconsistent with the quality of their food. For example, this location served us hard tortillas and subpar fish. The location in mission valley on the other hand served us the most delicious fish taco plates I’ve experienced this side of the boarder. Overall their beans and rice are always good. Be mindful of which location you visit and you should be okay.

This Rubio’s location is the convenient to my house, it is located in the Grossmont Center. They have a patio facing the street(so you can people watch) and are able to bring your dog to lunch/dinner. The service is always outstanding when I come here and the establishment is always clean! It is right next to Jamba Juice. :-)

A couple of years ago, I would have rated this place a 2 or 3. I think the rubio’s menu is so much better than before. I like the fact that they display the menu, the workers are nice there, and the food is actually decent.

Wow! We love our hometown Rubio’s but this location blew us away! On vacation in San Diego and found an inexpensive place to rest our heads in El Cajon. Stopped by the Rubio’s in the Grossmont center and had a great meal. Hector was our cashier and he is awesome! Feeling some love for him! The menu is great. Everything we ordered was awesome! And they bring it to your table. Best fast food ever! Do yourself a favor and eat here if you like Baja foods!

I must say I was a little taken back by the regular plates and metal forks. I used to be a huge fan of Rubio’s in general, but my admiration has diminished over the years. They have changed the Fish Burrito from the one I grew up on and now(at least this location) serves the meals on real plates with metal forks. It’s just not the same as the Rubio’s of old. I think they should be leaning more towards a beach front taco shop, than a regular restaurant. The quality of the food is still good, however, one in our party ordered a side of beans and had to have them re-heated, as they were served cold. The staff was friendly and delivered the food to the table. The Fish Tacos are still good and have remained fairly consistent over the years. Rubio’s is still a good place to grab a meal, but isn’t near the top of my list any more. There are other places I would visit first, but I will return.

Pretty decent Mexican fast food in a mall setting. Tried their signature fish taco plus a fancier baja mahi-mahi version. Honestly, they tasted about the same — gooey goodness wrapped up nicely in a corn tortilla. The décor is totally surfer-beach-tiki, which is pretty fun I guess. Not the most original thing for San Diego though. And street tacos are typically a lot cheaper and more delish. But hey Rubio’s did the trick. We all need a little fuel to rev us up before we go and blow a wad of cash at Target, right?

Customer for life! Manager paid for my lunch just because I mentioned them not having the tilapia last time I was here! Delicious food, great customer service, what’s not to like? I’d definitely recommend coming here, it’s perfect for an hour lunch break because it’s fast, but much healthier than«fast food.» Thanks, Rubio’s!
