This is a favorite for us. Thin-crust, local ingredients, made-to-order… 2 large pizzas for $ 30.

Zaw Pizza Kirkland is still a hit and miss business but they are showing signs of improvement. The bottom line is they make one quality pizza with great local ingredients and fresh toppings. The prices are high– but it is worth it. You can also buy their pizza on Amazon fresh if you use their service.

Bake at home pizza, for the most part, ranges from mediocre to flat out awful, which is unfortunate, because you don’t always want to send out or even want a whole pie. It was the latter that got me to try Zaw after driving by it a zillion times on my way to the Kirkland library. I wanted pizza, but not a lot, because I was the only one who wanted it. Zaw, it turns out, makes a «sampler» size, which is perfect for a light dinner for one. I tried the pear and prosciutto on a plain crust, and it was fantastic — the crust baked thin and crispy, and the pizza was a perfect balance of salty and sweet. I loved every bite and it was, as baby bear says, just right. I was less enthralled by the side salad, which was a spinach with cranberries and nuts — mostly spinach, not enough flavor, and I found the dressing too heavy on the oil — it needed a kick. Not bad, but unlike the pizza, not something I’d go back for. The store itself is strictly takeout. There’s a small area where you can wait while they make your pie if you didn’t order ahead online. It didn’t take very long, maybe ten minutes, the night I stopped in without ordering ahead. They have a good selection of sodas, like dry rhubarb and Virgil’s root beer. The staff were quite nice and helpful.

Most of the pizzas I’ve tried here are very good, with my favorite being the sausage and onion. A friend recommended I try their pizza over papa Murphy and it is now my go to. Very healthy options, not too filling. Best to order online ahead of time because you could end up waiting 15 – 20 mins. You can also purchase beer or wine here. It’s a tad pricey in comparison to other pizza places, but better ingredients!

We are regulars at Zaw. Love the Pig’n Pear and the Cookout. The pizzas are simple and quick to cook. Zaw is a great option when you want something more than standard pizza fare. The pizzas are not overloaded with cheese or ingredients. One pizza is just right for two adults. We love being able to get the extra cheese or pep pizza for $ 8. Often freeze them for a quick meal later.

Did the tailgate pizza, bottle of wine, and Cesar salad combo… Quick & absolutely amazing! Customer service was also excellent which is always a major perk.

This is our go to place for pizza. The crust is thin and the ingredients are fresh and light.

The gluten free dough was extremely disappointing, super thin, didn’t rise at all and soggy in the middle while nearly burnt on the edges(following their directions). Having amaranth in the dough lends it a weird aftertaste which I don’t care for.

Caramalized onion and sausage pizza — add red pepper. Delicious. Fresh ingredients, easy pick up. Heard there’s good online ordering but I haven’t yet tried it. Price is totally fair for quality. Great option for solid pizza near DT Kirkland.

I was disappointed. The pizza crust was kind of lame, like a supermarket frozen cheap pizza. The quality of the ingredients wasn’t as high as i expected. Totally overpriced. You guys really have to improve the crust.

I would give 6 stars if I could. I bought two large pizzas to bake at home last weekend. My husband and I as well as our guests thought the crust and ingredients were the best. In fact, our friends got two more pizzas from Zaw a couple of days later and reiterated that it was the best pizza around. Every topping was great.

Great service and yummy pizza. I love the sampler size. It’s perfect for one person. My hubby and I never get the same thing, so this allowed us to really get what we wanted. I also don’t eat white flour, so the whole wheat dough was a great option. I’ll try the gluten free next time. It took less time to order, pick-up and bake then it would have to get delivery, so this will now be our go-to pizza spot. Great parking right out front.

The idea is interesting — good quality ingredients and you bake at home. I tried it. It would be accurate to say that I was disappointed. At the end of it all, it wasn’t un-tasty but it wasn’t great(I had the shroom fest). I did not see the point of baking it at home at all. It also feels on the pricey side — especially given that I’m going to be baking the pizza myself(not for the cost of baking but the additional time that it involves). Between Zaw and Zeeks I’d be hard-pressed to choose. They are equivalent. I will pick Canam or Acropolis over these for a eat at home pizza meal. It is comparing apples to oranges but for a dinner that is what I’d do …

Great place for gluten free pizza! :) they are super nice at this location and I love all the different options for pizza choices! :) Plus if you are going dairy free they have daiyo cheese as well. If you are ordering gluten free pie, best to call early as they tend to run out at night… found this out the hard way :(

Second time here. I really love the concept… But something is blatantly missing from this experience but cannot quite put my finger on it. Too sterile maybe? The check in deal really isn’t.

This is some of the best pizza I have ever had, whether it was made in front of me, frozen, delivered, take-out, doesn’t matter. The mushroom sausage is our favorite! We never have left-overs because I just can’t stop eating this pizza. So glad, they moved to Kirkland, we don’t eat pizza anywhere else now.

I want to like Zaw. It’s a cool concept, Papa Murphys meets CPK. And I love pizza. I also like the idea of highbrow, locally-sourced ingredients. But… For my order of 3 small pizzas plus one cookie, they forgot to add an ingredient to one pizza, and forgot to take an ingredient off another pizza, and forgot the cookie. Oops. Mistakes happen but on 3 of 4 items? And then there’s the pizza. I cooked 2 pizzas on the grill and 1 in the oven. I followed the directions, but the toppings started to furiously bubble/boil about 5 min before the time was up, so I pulled them, figuring boiled toppings would not be so good. But then the dough(which is über-thin) was a little flat/unlively. Maybe my mistake, but I’ve cooked a lot of great pizza and don’t think so. Maybe their whole wheat dough doesn’t perform well. Not sure. Also the cookie, for which I also followed the directions in the oven(but pulled it 1 minute early), came out pretty brown and very crispy on the edges. In any event the pizzas and cookie were ok but not great. The staff, while apparently forgetful, were very nice. My advice if you want to cook upscale pizza at home is get some dough and sauce from Trader Joe’s and go from there. It’s a little extra work but the results are amazing for the price.

Was pleasantly surprised to see Zaw open up in a former shoe store next to a dry cleaner’s in Kirkland! We tried it last week and were very impressed. Pizza is actually quite tasty, cooks very quickly at home, and the salads are phenomenal! Try the bake at home cookie as well! Pricing is a bit high, but relative to other specialty pizza places not too bad. The deals/promos are also a bit complicated to understand. However, given the convenience and quality we will definitely be visiting Zaw in Kirkland again!
