BEST grinder ever. Been coming here 25 years and they taste the same every time. The only thing I’ve EVER had is the Canadian bacon and pineapple(added) grinder because it’s delicious EVERY time, never fails.

I Have driven past this place for years and always wondered how they stay open in a constantly changing city. Well, now I know… it’s DELICIOUS! My fiancé and I went there today for grinders. They were both sooooo yummy. We saw others eating pasta and that looked good as well. Very fast service and affordable prices. It seems expensive at first but the sandwiches are so large you could easily share one. So happy we finally tried this place. We will be back vey soon!

I usually get take out at this place. The pizzas are particularly great. I highly recommend the Acropolis special pizza.

Food is marginal at best The pasta sauce tastes like ketchup and you can tell all the food is pre made and frozen. The pizza is always soggy and undercooked.

Average food. I would go back here if I was in the area nothing special to drive out the way to eat it Customer service was ok.

I should of guessed that this place was going to be pricier than it needed to be. The menu is somewhat small /limited for a Greek pizza /pasta /sandwich shop. I was sad to not find any pesto dishes — and they had one Alfredo dish. The service was so bad that I had to take our glasses back up to the front for refills — and they weren’t even that busy! All that being said — the food was good, enough to prevent the dreaded one-star review.

Several of us stopped in… One person had the Grinder — it looked really good, and even the half-size Grinder was large. Another person had the Greek platter and thought it was«just OK». We ordered a couple of pizzas(Acropolis and a Vegetarian) and they were tasty. The ambiance is very casual and the service was attentive.

I love this place but the wine prices suck a**. 5.25 for a 3 ounce pour of box wine. No bueno. Not again. And if the hours posted are that you’re open until 9. Then stay open until 9. Not 8:30 and don’t vacuum under my feet idiots. If only the Mangouras’ had their shxt together… I’d pay the extra 5 bucks. Rediculous.

I had to try the turkey grinder because of all the great reviews and it did not disappoint! My gf and I were looking for something different for dinner and decided to go to Acropolis because of the reviews and because she had eaten here before and liked it. She had the ribs and lasagna, which was a great choice. The ribs were some of the best I have ever had, so delicious and tender, the meat was falling off the bone! I thought the lasagna that it came with was just ok, nothing special but still good. I had read so many reviews about the grinders and specifically the turkey grinder so I had to try it. It did not disappoint at all, so good! The bun was nice and toasted like I prefer and the flavor of the turkey was delicious, I would recommend it. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more of their dishes or possibly just getting another grinder, it was so good!

I had read about the meatball grinders for so long I just had to try one! It’s GIGANTIC, it’s DELICIOUS and it was all I had hoped for and more. I had also heard that this place was kid friendly but I’m still always scared to tote my two little buddies with me to a restaurant but boy did they take every chance they had to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you. We are happy to have you in our neighborhood and look forward to many returns.

Oh my. Wow. I’ve never had Italian food this good in my life, and that’s saying something. RIBSONLASAGNA??! Is this real life?! The manicotti is to die for. The ribs and chicken on pasta are #killer. I’m in heaven.

Holy Cold Cuts! I can not stop eating the cold cut grinder which, for $ 8.99, is one of the best values you will find just about anywhere. This sandwich is a full 16 inches of toasty goodness with three different kinds of meats sliced and layered underneath melted cheese, freshly shredded lettuce, and a slathering of mayo to top it all off. You really don’t need anything else to go with it although I have been known to get a side salad to make a it a full meal and then take half the sandwich home. Acropolis is located right across from crazy sounding Kirkland’s Peter Kirk Park and is also real close to all the downtown shopping and Marina Park as well. They do have a private parking lot although there is no lack of parking spaces in the surrounding area as well so no worries there. The staff here is super friendly and always on top of taking care of everyone who walks in the door. They have tons of regulars, at least from what I’ve seen, so you know this place is a local institution and beloved by many. During my last visit, I almost ordered their legendary ribs and lasagna combo, but couldn’t resist getting the grinder once again so that crazy sounding dish will have to wait for another day. I hear their pizzas are also really good so look for an update some time down the road with more info on their other menu items.

I really love this place! It’s one of the better pizza and pasta joints on my the eastside by far! Maybe the best if not, it’s a real close second away. The atmosphere has a nice Greek restaurant feel to it. The food is great! We ordered cheese bread and I had their chicken Parmesan and my dad had the ravioli and we both loved it. They serve bread with your meal and a lot of it. The location is great and the food is as well! I’ve heard great things about their signature sandwiches and pizza as well! Check it out!

Super yummy pizza. I love how the top and the bottom are the perfect amount of crispy. Generous quality ingredients. Staff is always nice and people seems to also enjoy the other items on the menu.

I had heard Acropolis served good pizza so after living in Kirkland for umpteen years I finally tried it out. We had the Acropolis Pizza and the manicotti for dinner. The pizza was great! Nice balance of meat, cheese and veggies, and the crust wasn’t too thick but had the right amount of crunch for my liking. Feta would have been a good addition to this, we’ll try it next time. The manicotti seemed about average. We had the meat sauce on top but would have preferred the plain marinara sauce in retrospect. The location is also ideal! Far enough from downtown so that you can park pretty easily but only a 5 min walk from the waterfront. If you have kids, there’s a great playground across the street you can visit after dinner. All in all we had lovely service and will be back for pizza again someday!

After reading all these reviews, I probably need to try the grinders! I love Acropolis for take-out — they have great pasta, Greek-style pizza, and salads and amazing service. I highly recommend their ½ chicken(baked in lasagna is yummy). My kids love their raviolis and garlic bread. My only tip is to be clear on whether you want regular spaghetti/raviolis or baked. If baked, they come submerged in cheese so it totally depends which style you prefer. Also, order extra meatballs as they are amazing! Everyone at Acropolis is super helpful and friendly. A great local place!

I’ve been eating Canadian bacon grinders from this establishment since I was in Juanita high school — yep, that’d be 1978, back when the place was called ‘Athens’. A few management changes back and forth later, and almost 40 years, they are still the great family run restaurant, great service, food and atmosphere. Honestly I think i’ve only strayed one time from the grinder and that was some wonderful lasagna we had on a late saturday night. The foot long grinder is a very fulfilling meal, the sauce, the meat, the warm crusty bread scraping the roof of your mouth, mmmm, i want one now! Oh, i did do something different last time — I ADDEDMUSHROOMS omg do that if your pocketbook allows… And they have the most easily remembered phone number in the VanDyke exchange(you old Kirklandi remember the days when phone numbers started with VA7 or VA2, yes? No? VA=vandyke=82 on the keypad, oops sorry bout the rabbitrail) its 8272727! Call ahead and get a grinder! I’ve never had one better, so its as good as it gets in my book, and thats 5 stars.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve ordered from Acropolis. It is very close by and the reason it is that four stars is the consistency. The food, over the last three years, has been consistently good. That in my book is worth four stars. As to what is good, the Greek Pizza is excellent. The grinders are really good. I would suggest getting one and eating it over two meals because it is just that much food. The wife says that the spaghetti is good too. Over all, it is a neighbourhood joint, still going strong, unhealthy but just good comfort food.

When you need a sandwich w/o the glutens then it’s all ’bout that chef’s salad! Lots of meats and cheese and fixins and a little bit of lettuce underneath. That’s how a salad’s done, folks. I came in pretty hungry and I hardly put a dent in this thing. Made for some good leftovers the next day too(dressing on the side. always). Pretty busy here during a weekday at lunch but service was super quick and our waitress was a doll. I’ll be back!
