AAMCO of Kirkland

I initially called AAMCO of Kirkland when I was feeling that something was «not right» with my Van when it shifted. I feared it was my transmission going. I was looking for information, and spoke to Matthew. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and answered my questions. He then went a step further and told me to bring my van in for a free inspection. When I arrived I thought it would be a quick thing, but these guys are detailed, and I was told the inspection would take 2 ½ hours. I hadn’t planned on that kind of time, especially considering this was a free inspection! Matthew and the Owner totally took care of me. The Owner (who has newly acquired this shop) drove me home, all the way to Lynnwood (20 mins away!) and then personally picked me up when the inspection was complete. After all that, they couldn’t find anything wrong with my van, and didn’t charge me a dime for their time. Who does that?! They are wonderful, and when something does go wrong with van, I will definitely be coming back. They went above and beyond meeting my expectations and I was so happy with the great service I received! Thank you AAMCO of Kirkland!!!

I took my jeep into this location to get another opinion. I had taken it to two other places and they had told me that I would need a brand new transmission. I took it to this aamco and was informed by the manager whose name was Matthew, that you don’t always need a new transmission. They asked me to leave my jeep there for a couple of hours so they could check it out. Matthew called me back within about an hour and a half and told me that I didn’t need a whole new transmission, and that they could take it apart and fix it. So, instead of me paying over $ 4000, I paid only $ 1800. I would recommend this place to anyone. In this day and age there are not a lot of honest mechanic shops left… but I will definitely go back to this one. Thank you again Matthew and Dan.

Had my transmission replaced here last year and everything went great! Now there’s an issue and not only do they keep changing their story, the manager, Nicole, hangs up on you repeatedly. They had my car for over 3 weeks and nothing was done to it. DO NOT GO HERE.

my car broke down on the freeway. the tow person recommended this place, STUPID me i took his word for it and had it towed to AAMCO. It was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
They NEVER answer the phone. They never get back to you when they say they will. and when the actually do answer the phone, they can never give you a straight answer! all they say is «not sure at the moment» or «let me call you back»! This being my only car and with a toddler, not having me car for over 2 weeks was not the business! NOW, finally paying and calling it quits with them… i waited all damn day to get my car towed back to my place, the tow truck driver asks me, «did you happen to have a battery when you gave it to aamco?» My response… «OF COURSE! What the F***!!» Seriously?! how the hell are you guys NOT going to put the battery back?!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
Matthew comes off as a nice guy but NO help at all! Waste of time and money!

My car broke down on the way to work yesterday morning — and luckily in front of AAMCO! They took me in no problem and charged $ 200 less than what I was quoted for the same work at a different shop down the street. Edward was super friendly and helpful — even the mechanic came out to talk to me about my car after I picked it up. My car runs great now! Great service, low prices, I will DEFINITELY be back!

Just a follow-​up to my earlier review. So far everything is working great. Edward even followed up with a call to ensure all was well. I appreciate the service!

I always get semi-​nervous about mechanics now-​a-​days, however Edward a mechanic there is great and really helped me feel at ease because I had just had my transmission fixed not too long ago (the place went out of business). They did everything they could to make sure I was receiving a fair price in righting the wrong done by the other company. I received outstanding work and fantastic customer service! I will return to them in the future for all my car needs.

I got my oil changed here. I was told it would cost $ 48, but with taxes and fees it went up to $ 55. Well, okay. I guess all car repair shops do that.
Also, a big reason I chose this place was that they advertised that they would check your check engine light for free. I later discovered that this basically means nothing; they gave me 3 codes and sent me on my way, I still didn’t have a clue what needed fixing on my car, and I’d paid well over what I normally pay for an oil change. Live and learn.
And I later took the car to another auto repair shop, where I discovered that AAMCO had neglected to reset my maintenance required light. When I later went back in to AAMCO, they first tried to tell me that it was because the check engine light was on. I had to ask again, since I knew that the two lights are separate. Something small, but looks sloppy.
However, service was friendly.

This shop just opened and let me tell you, these guys will take care of you!
Son is a great guy who will go above and beyond to make sure your job is done right. I brought my TH350 in for a rebuild and they did an amazing job. It looked brand new when it was given back and a 30 year old car felt better than ever. I went in yesterday since after noticing a small leak and they tightened a loose cooling line (my fault) and had my car back in just a few hours. On top of that they noticed a missing bolt in my suspension, alerted me of the issue it and fixed it free of charge. As I said, above and beyond service and quality.
Even though this second visit was a warranty job, I felt like a customer. Son was in regular touch with me.
The shop is new and clean and I felt like my car was in trusted hands the entire time.
