Wonderful meal, great service and at a decent price, no less. I highly recommend skipping the«fine» buffet and treating yourself to a far more delicious meal at the slightly higher priced Bistro. You won’t be disappointed. Steak cooked to perfection. Baked potato had that perfect texture you can only get in the oven… loved dinner here!

Looking for a gourmet meal at a reasonable price? Little Boston Bistro is the place to check out! Located inside The Point Casino, they offer an early dinner special of a four course meal for only $ 14.95 from 4 pm to 6 pm, seven days a week! My date and I were served warm cheesy herb bread right after we placed our order. This bread is baked fresh before serving and was so good we asked for anther roll to split. We shared our first courses: mine was a seafood-stuffed mushroom while he had the crab cake. Of the two, we both enjoyed the crab cake due to its light and flavorful texture. I like how the cake was compose more of crab than«fillers» such as bread crumbs. The seafood-stuffed mushroom was a good contender although it was rich and heavy. For the second course, we both ordered the soup du jour which that night was roasted red pepper soup with mascarpone. This was a really delicious soup and was even better when we dipped in slices of the cheesy bread. We both ordered different dishes for the 3rd course. He had some sort of fish(which was tasty) while I went with the lamb gnocchi with vegetables. This was my most disapponting part of dinner. The lamb was overcooked, carrots were underdone and there were only 4 gnocchi dumplings. The sauce it was in was really good though. Our last course was dessert. He had the cheesecake(which was nothing special but good) and I had the chocolate sampler. The sampler came with 3 different cookies(one was a macaron) and a sliced strawberry. My chocolate tooth was pretty satisfied, although the macaron was on the cakey side. Overall I was satisfied with my meal. What a deal for a 4 course meal!

When plans to expand The Point Casino were announced, and they included adding fine dining to the mix, admittedly we did not know what to expect. The new casino is very nice, a major expansion of what was a small operation; previously, a typical casino buffet and fast-food were offered as the only dining options. So, we did not know what we were getting into. Turns out we needn’t have worried. It is a class act all the way. They have cleverly created a separate entrance to the Bistro from the street. One needn’t be a gambler or walk through the casino. If you are not a casino person, you could have your dining experience, except for some minimal carryover noise, without knowing you were in one. The lighting is subdued, the banquettes are comfortable, the décor is contemporary, but not industrial(I hate industrial). From the time our drinks came, I knew we would be friends. My vodka martini was perfect, as was the Bloody Mary of my companion. [can I just say here that you would not believe how many bartenders cannot make a decent martini, I suppose it’s old school and out of favor but geez…] I started with Dungeness crab cakes, described on the menu as «delicate Dungeness crab blended with shallots, peppers and cream. Served with red curry aioli, papaya chutney, micro greens salad.» They were excellent, honestly the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve ordered them just about everywhere and the flavor combinations on that plate were just amazing. I didn’t even know I liked papaya… My companion had the Northwest Shellfish Trio: «Manila clams, Penn Cove mussels and singing pink scallops steamed with chorizo, garlic, heirloom tomatoes and fresh oregano.» He blissed out, and I stole a few. I had to. For the main course I had Pesto Crusted Salmon, accompanied by an unexpectedly awesome pickled onion relish and wild asparagus, and salt roasted fingerling potatoes. The salmon was perfect, and beautifully presented. He had the Center Cut Ribeye, 12 ounces of Painted Hills beef, the first bite of which provoked«oh my God.» He added a half pound of Alaskan King crab, and another«oh my God». Conversation came to a halt. We were in the zone now. A silky Pinot Grigio accompanied the salmon nicely; offered by the glass which was nice as my companion does not drink wine. The desserts offered were tempting, but we just couldn’t rally. Having room for dessert would require some serious strategy. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly without being intrusive, and efficient without hovering. We were told most of the staff came from Alderbrook, so the level of service was up to high standards. Kudos to Chef Thomas Kollasch and his crew for providing us with one of the most memorable meals we have had on the Kitsap peninsula in the few years we have lived here. We were so very impressed. It didn’t hurt at all that our winnings covered dinner, but don’t think of this as just a casino restaurant, this would succeed just fine if it stood alone.
