I’ve been to this Golden Corral a lot — definitely not by choice. My mom doesn’t cook as much anymore so she loves these buffet style restaurants as a way to spend time together. Hard to say no to that. Despite the negative reviews, I find that if I stick to what I know on the slop trough it’s really not entirely too bad. FOOD + Awesome Pot Roast: No really, that’s what it’s called according to the website. Although, I wouldn’t label it as such. This is my go-to protein. Tender and basic in flavor. + Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy: Hard to ‘eff this up, but it happens sometimes. + Steamed Cabbage: Has a nice smoky flavor from the ham. + Banana Pudding: I’m not ashamed to admit that this is my favorite dessert from here. It’s really good! TIP Let’s be clear. If you lower your expectations, you won’t be that disappointed. 10⁄100

Can someone say slop trough? This place has potential, but the food is as run down as the décor. I know its a buffet, but is it too much to ask for someone to take pride in their work? Bottomline steer clear.

Went for breakfast… A little dissapointed. For starters the ketchup on the table was rancid. And the pork chops were rather dry. Salad and fruit on the buffet looked fresh and yummy. As for the eggs were cooked ok and the hash browns were good. And the deserts were great. . Wanted milk but did not want to drink it out of a carton. Staff was friendly and helpful and efficient. Selection was ok but will not be going back to this one.

If you want to live in mediocrity this is the place to go. It’s not very big, the food is all very bland, and half the seating area smelled like puke. The only thing of note was the yeast rolls, but even those were doused with butter. If you want something not terrible, not very good, and certainly not great, this is the place for you.

My husband and I ate at Golden Corral in Temple, TX today for the first time since it moved out of Temple and changed locations. It was OK food. Nothing special. There was a lot to choose from, but the quality has not changed much in many years since I ate at one last. The best food was the fried fish and hush puppies. The salad would have been good, but they water down the dressing to make it go further, I guess, and it ruined a good salad. Don’t know that I would go here again. If we do, it will be a very long time from now. I do NOT recommend you eat there on a Sunday. The price is OUTRAGEOUS for the quality of food you get. We could have had a very nice meal at a steak house for what we paid today.

Today is the last time I eat at this garbage dump. I stood and watched them wash 4 heads of lettuce in the same 6″ of water, after they cut the heads in half they dunked them once, shook them and then place them in the bowl for consumption. The tomatoes still had green leafs attached. In total the salad bar is food poison waiting to happen. Not only were some containers filthy, some even contained mixed food items. I am also tired of raw steak, even after I stand in line, and burned meatloaf covered in tomato sauce. And does anyone watch their kids, playing with the chocolate fountain, and ice cream machines. Finally, If I ever have to listen to another waitress sing their stupid happy happy birthday song, I am going to scream. When I eat out, I don’t want to hear the waitress singing and I don’t want them bothering me every 8 – 10 minutes, just be there when I call for you. And really why do these people even expect a tip, what do they do? bring me more water, maybe once during the meal. I am done with golden Corral Killeen. Take some lessons from the new golden corral in Temple Texas.

Food was the worst tasting, no quality, no quantity, no variety. I wouldn’t feed leftovers to a dog. The mushrooms were so undercooked that it told me the princess was in another castle. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Not a good place since Ryans closed down nearby. This location got dirty real quick. Drive to the temple location if you want GC

Just your normal Golden Corral, wish somebody would try to do something different. Change the scenery!

The cashier wasn’t all that in love with her job. I haven’t had the chance to try a Golden Corral when I was back home in Cali so this is my first and I can’t say I’m impressed. I think Home Town Buffet had more of a variety. Everything is oddly flavored, even down to their ice cream. The only thing I may have liked was the mashed potatoes. Those were pretty good.

I’m from Cali where we only have one or two golden corrals & the one where I’m from is amazing. The food is fresh & hot, the place is clean, and this one is similar in standard. I find that the food always looks good here & it stays pretty clean. I went to one in Houston that had trash all over the floor, old food and dirty dishes, this one is a polar opposite.

The first two times I ate there were okay, a friend treated me and I have never been to a golden corral. But then when I took a person to eat at golden corral for the first time, I got food poisoning, and I’m pretty sure it was there because not an hour later I got the diarrhea. Other than that, it is buffet food and it was okay.

Not what I expected from Golden Corral. I love our Golden Corral in Corpus Christi. True it was smaller but at least the food could be better. It was not up to standards. Waitress was cleaning tables around us, vacuuming, slamming tables to the walls. A manager told her to go cool off. Apparently they were in some tension. I gave her an $ 8.00 tip and a silent prayer to have a better day

ZEROSTARS. Absolutely disgusted with the service! Unprofessional to say the least. There was a group of servers hanging out next to our table being loud, inappropriate, and spraying large amounts of body spray in the air. My family will NEVER eat at this location again, and probably won’t eat at any Golden Corral ever again.

I think for a thanksgiving meal it was as good as you can get. The workers were all busy but had good attitudes. The food was always hot and the lines weren’t too bad. I gave 5 stars because of the holiday crowd and the staff held their own.

I like this buffet. The lunch buffet on Sunday is around $ 25 for two people compared to the weekday which is less than $ 20 for two people. The Sunday brunch includes steak and their pan seared items which is usually only available for dinner. The steak was good and did not taste cheap. I also enjoyed their chocolate fountain and variety of sweets. It took a while to get our drinks refilled. They should have an area where we can refill our drinks instead of waiting on someone to do it.
