Ice cream was good. Interesting flavors, most fruit based. I got the Key Lime and it was good. It’s made in-house, and I look for that. I don’t want to pay more for an ice cream I can easily buy at a grocery store. Service could have been a bit warmer. And strangely, the guy went outside and smoked a cigarette behind where I was eating the ice cream. I was done eating, otherwise it could have really ruined the experience.

This is the best you’ve got Key West? A kind of run down place with really brusk if not rude service? The ice cream was fine. Perhaps even pretty good but why bother when the service just makes you feel like you’re wasting their time. It just made the experience one that I’ll remember for all the wrong reasons. And the ice cream was too sweet for my tastes. So there.

Very torn on this review. We were excited to try Flamingo Crossing given the Unilocal and Trip Advisor reviews and the«awards» they received for best ice cream. However, the staff is so rude, cold and disinterested that overall it brought down the experience. With that said, be sure you bring CASH if you go… CASH mandatory… no credit cards. The ice cream is very tasty and creamy and we enjoyed their cookies and cream, honey nut and guava flavors. Be careful you don’t ask for too many«taste trys» or they get increasingly rude and cranky. Overall suggestion… try somewhere else… quality of ice cream not worth the attitude.

First off– they only take CASH. That’s important to know, because the ice cream is delicious and you’ll want more than one scoop! Our waitress at dinner recommended we try this place and she was right on target. We had cookies and cream and mint chocolate chip. There were more adventurous flavors available, too.

Such a cute little place! All of their ice creams are made there and a few contain alcohol. I sampled about about 10 different flavors before deciding what to get. The man working there was super friendly and helpful.

Came down to key west for a weekend visit and walked into here. All of the flavors we tried were delicious and when I saw the alcoholic homemade ice cream Options, that was a must! The man who was talking to us was super outgoing, my girlfriend loved him and he was even familiar with Miami. Would definitely return

Had the key lime ice cream and coconut ice cream. Key lime was very good. Ice cream is made on site and average priced. Service was quick and friendly.

Old grumpy man working. Didn’t say hi when we walked in. We were the only people in there. He kept yelling at me to save my spoons but i didn’t and still don’t know why. I ended up throwing them away when he wasn’t looking. I tried a few flavors but decided to go with my original, Mint chocolate chip. It was not minty at all. I was upset since you can’t really mess this one up but this place did. All well. Cash only!!!

All the restaurants in Key West seem to serve Flamingo Crossing ice cream. Reviews say it’s the best in Key West. You know what? They’re all wrong. It was thoroughly mediocre. And the guy serving us was grumpy. Get ice cream at Mattheessen’s instead!

I am giving two stars only for the ice cream quality. The service is so poor. That old man is quite rude :(

Flamingo Crossing has some of the better ice cream I’ve had in a while. I ordered the Mango and Mamey ice cream and it was very creamy. There are a little over 20 flavored to choose from which include some of your traditional flavors and some more tropical and unique flavors that you don’t see too often. There is more room to sit outside than there is inside but overall it’s a nice ice cream parlor and worth the stop. Only downside is that they only accept cash, although they have an atm in the building.

This is the best ice cream you’ll get in Key West. They’re the only place on Duval that makes their own stuff every day, everything is delicious, and they have an extremely diverse selection. The people behind the counter are super knowledgeable, too, and definitely willing to help if you ask about a flavor.

Some of the best ice cream I have ever had! worth it! GO! Yes, the guy at the counter is full of sarcasm and what not but who cares. The ice cream is so worth it. I thought he was funny anyway. Delicious.

I always recommend avoiding the chains. There are a number of places with decent gelato here(Duettos), but if I’m in Old Town and want ice cream, I always go to Flamingo Crossing. First — CASHONLY. The selection of flavors here is good– your standards, and a few exotics. The ice cream is good, and the prices are reasonable for Old Town. It’s a local business, and(imo) better to have this than the generic Haagen Dazs you get everywhere else. The service is always fast and with a smile. If you’re used to some of the great gourmet ice cream you can get in New England, you will probably be a little disappointed. But(along with two scoops in Mid Town) this is the best ice cream on Key West.

Delicious home made ice cream with many flavors to choose from AND they’re very well priced, in my opinion!

Ice cream is ok, but when the service is not, make everything taste bad :-(it’s a shame this place has potential, but a simple hello when walking in would have been great! The place was empty, and the man behind the counter was counting money, but never turned around to acknowledge us or say ‘I’ll be right with you’. When he finally turned around almost 4 min later, he just said«what can I get you» — no «thanks for waiting, or how you doing?» — very odd, especially when you are with kids at an ice cream shop!!! :-(

After walking past this place several times we decided to stop in to see what all the hypes about we noticed the reviews are all over the place most of the negative reviews are in regards to service and pricing. We ordered up two small cones with Strawberry ice-cream, the cones are really kiddie size with very small scoops of really good ice cream but at $ 4.00 each you need to be memorable this was good but not great by any means. The woman serving up the treats was not overly friendly and just served what we ordered not offering any suggestions, a smile or a thank you she was just doing her job. After enjoying the 4 or 5 bites I decided to do a few calculations not that I’m cheap by any means just curious about the value it’s kinda comical if you think about it. 3 oz ice cream @ $ 4.00 = $ 1.33 per oz $ 1.33×128 oz = $ 170.24 a gallon How do you like it now :-)

My fiancé and I were in town for 5 days and we went here 3 times :) Everything I tried I loved, especially the Key Lime Ice Cream. We adored this place. We tried other ice cream places and this place was for sure the best and cheapest.

Ridiculous ice cream!!! If you are in the area you must stop by. They make everything in house and the staff couldn’t be nicer. We went in on a particularly hot day and they were more than happy to let us sample whatever we wanted. Everything was super fresh and delicious! It’s cash only so be forewarned but seriously guys. It’s ice cream. Pay in cash. :)
