I love this place but I’ve notice the green sauce isn’t always the same and I’d like some consistency. The staff is friendly but I feel they’re not always the most efficient– it can take awhile to get them to take your order. The chicken is moist and delicious and the entrana steak is always fresh. Good place to go if you’re hungry in the area.

The food is very good. We ordered grilled trout, is was very rich in flavor and very tender. Chicken with linguine was somewhat bland, but the two proprietary sauces were superb! The ambiance is nice, though the music gets a little too loud. The service is ok, the staff is nice. It felt like there were not enough people, so it was a bit slow and hard to get attention. Will definitely be back for more of those sauces and Peruvian flavors.

I came in during the afternoon lunch rush. I had a sweet tooth craving for a sweet pastery and a cappaccino. When I walked in I was a bit confused as if I should seat myself or I would be seated. There was a sign that read wait to be seated so I waited and waited and waited. I began to become annoyed after servers passed me me with me with no effect. I looked toward the counter and and there and there was two people behind the c and one whom I assume was the owner just standing idly there. Service left alot to be desired. I finally went to the country term yo to place to place my order and asked to be seated outside. At first none paid attention to me, I grabbed a menu, there was no dessert or beverage section. Again I was at a loss. I asked the guy behind the counter if he had anyother menu with those missing missing sections. Finally someone aided me in my simple request after what seemed like forever. The whole time the owner made eye contact with me contact with me yet never showed interest in helping accommodat me or help her employees during the lunch time rush. Seems like there is a big peoblem with their management. It was not the best experience. The cappuccino was sub par and the cake isn’t made on site so it was not the freshest nor the best tasting. I won’t be back.

Tu casa is my favorite go to restaurant. My favorite dish is the entrana. Their green sauce is delicious– I smother my skirt steak, my rice, everything with it!!! I like the Astoria location better. The only down side is that it can be hard to have a conversation when the band plays, but other than that– this place is awesome!

I think this is one of the best Peruvian Places I’ve had in queens. The chicken is never dry; always on point. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love this place! I’ve eaten here so many times I have lost count. The food is impeccable, full of taste and flavor. The service is fantastic and the employees are always smiling and friendly. I really recommend ordering the sangria from here, it is the best in town!

It was my 4th time at Tu Casa. First two times were excellent, the 3rd time I ordered the wrong dish, 4th time AMAZING!!! I can vouch for the Sangria, Calamari, The Peruvian Potato app, Skirt Steak(MYFAVE — The«Entraña»), the Pesto Pasta with Steak, and the seafood platter. Pretty authentic cuisine to the best of my knowledge and usually the wait staff is friendly. Tonight, however, we were almost completely ignored for most of the evening. We contemplated just walking out on the check to see if they’d notice. But we didn’t have the cojones. It’s a fun place, lots of birthdays being celebrated, loud music, and every time I have dined there, live singers were present. Good place to go for groups but too loud for romantic encounters.

I’ve been going here for years now as I haven’t found a green sauce better in queens! The latest visit was on a Friday night, the décor is great and taking a brief break as a customer, they really maximize the space they have(aka somewhat cramped inside but still comfortable). Anywho onto the food! I’ve had most chicken dishes here but on the latest visit I got the pollo saltado. The dish overall was good but not the best I’ve had as a stand alone. Of course, after adding their magic green sauce, made it the best pollo saltado ever! The wife got the half chicken, which was a bit dry but of course she smothered it with the green sauce and devoured it almost as quickly as I did my entrée. Service is generally good but definitely hit or miss, just don’t go in expecting perfect service. With that said, the décor, environment, and food makes this a place an easy addition to the short list of dinner spots in the neighborhood.

Two Words: SANGRIAPITCHER Dear lord, these things are strong and come completely filled with booze soaked fruits. WINNING! We ordered two half pitchers for two people and were absolutely feeling great. The empanadas were the biggest I have ever consumed and my garden salad was fresh– I wish they had used a more diverse lettuce mix rather than straight iceberg(no nutritional value). Cant wait to make this my day drank spot.

Ive been here a few times with my friends and the food has always been a delight. My favorite dish would have to be the shrimp ceviche, its super marinated and palatable. You can never go wrong with this place your taste buds will always be pleased with just about anything on their menu. They offer a variety of sauces that you can use to your discretion to enhance the flavor of the food if need be so that always a plus. Last but not least lets not forget about desert because they have quite a few mouth watering sensations to offer; the flan and tres leches take the cake! All in all, the food keeps me coming back but a minor drawback in my book would have to be the service. I expect the people serving me my food to look and act accordingly… meaning… keep the sourpuss face and attitude outside of work.

A restaurant I recently discovered that quickly turned into one of my favorite restaurants. The Sangria there is the best I’ve ever tasted(filled with ice, diced fruit and the delicious wine and juices). The food is Peruvian styled and very delicious. Staff is extremely helpful and attentive. Atmosphere is great and the place is clean. They also have outdoor seating with umbrellas. Prices are very reasonable. A meal for two with a pitcher of sangria and dessert will run you about $ 50 – 60 Street parking available but is hard to find sometimes.

Why do I keep coming back here? Out of convenient proximity to my home that’s why. I came here with my sister and we ordered bistec tu casa, half rotisserie chicken lunch special and an order of fries. The chicken lunch special is definitely worth it in terms of quantity. It comes with a half chicken, rice and beans for $ 9. They have other chicken deals with variations to as low as $ 7. The chicken here is always a hit or miss, sometimes good sometimes meh. It’s always seasoned well but it can be really dry sometimes. Either way, soak it in the green sauce for some juice and flavor. The bistec tu casa is great in terms of quantity but the biggest turn off was the steak. The steak was so dry and tough that I felt like I was eating jerky. The meal is alot for just $ 16 however considering it came with steak, yellow rice, maduro, beans, egg and a small chorizo. But I just won’t ever get that again because the steak was really bad, which makes me question how and why people praised it in their reviews. Do not forget to soak everything in green sauce if your meal is dry and add some flavor. Apparently their takeout menu is cheaper than their in-house menu by $ 1/$ 2 per dish. This was very enlightening when I asked why the empanadas are $ 5 for 2 when I purchased one for just $ 1.60something. Plus when you eat in, empanadas cannot be ordered individually so therefore you have to add $ 5 to your bill. Apparently because it gets so busy at night, the takeout prices are supposed to be an incentive to not stay. So if I feel desperate or too lazy to go to Jackson Heights, I will tread over there for some mediocre green-sauce-soaked empanadas.

I was craving Spanish food and this place was recommended by local friends. Glad I came here. Skirt steak was on the money and the plantains/tostones brought it back home. Yes, 2thumbs up

Their rotisserie chicken is SOGOOD esp with the green sauce, delicious. The appetizers come in big portions. We got the fried calamari which came with a red sauce. I wish the red sauce was hot for some reason, but the calamari was good with just some fresh lemon juice. And we got the spicy wings which were good as well, not spicy at all. Everyone there had their jugs of sangria so I’m guessing it’s good. A bigger plus is the outdoor seating.

Coming back from Peru I was used to the awesome flavors and tasty dishes. Having food here is not the same. Granted how can food be compared to the motherland. My chicken was dry. The fried dishes were not worth the calories. Good sangria and nice waitstaff. Won’t be coming back.

Hubby & I weekly date night we usually try a new restaurant every week to expand our plates & different cuisines of the world. Turning to Unilocal I found this little gem of a place, the moment you walk it your hit with Latin music which puts you in an energetic mood, the aroma from the kitchen had us hungry before we even got to out seats. The interior of this place is very warm & inviting; we started off with the sangria which is really good, had fresh fruits, & sweet, although the alcohol did sneak up on me a bit(lol). Hubby ordered the lomo saltado & I got the pollo saltado, while we waited the music kept us very entertained as we enjoy many birthdays being celebrated & couples dancing the night away. Our waiter’s name was Manuel he kept us very pleased the entire night, our food came out in a timely fashion. My husband’s lomo saltado was bursting with flavor, the onions & fries were the perfect touch to the dish, the rice & black beans also complemented the meal. My pollo saltado was beyond perfect, the onions were cooked to a perfect consistency, the tomatoes were so tender & juicy. I added their green sauce & garlic sauce to my meal & it kicked it up so much more. I drenched my entire dinner in it, and boy was I beyond happy I did. I also tried their maiz(fried corn) oh man I can snack on this every day! Noël the owner’s son, also added enjoyment to our evening, always kept checking up on us. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We shall return very soon! If your in Kew Gardens please give this place a try you will not regret it at all!
