Kristin’s Bakery & Cafe

I live in San Francisco but was in New Hampshire for a family reunion last week, and I needed a cake to surprise my father for his 80^th birthday. I called Kristin’s 5 days before and ordered a cake to pick up when I got to New Hampshire. While the ordering process was a little bumpy, I have to say this cake was perhaps the best cake I’ve eaten in my life, and most of my relatives, who had come to NH from 5 different states, agreed. Impeccably decorated by Maureen the pastry chef, this buttercream-​frosted cake was gorgeous, fresh, and simply impressive across the board in every way. At $ 35, I paid a San Francisco price for a 8″ cake in Keene, New Hampshire, but it was worth every penny, and more. Everyone was so pleased and impressed and we simply could not have been happier with this 80^th birthday surprise for my father. A+

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious breakfast options! Friendly staff and great coffee (free refills!) Lunch options are a bit on the expensive side, but once in a while it’s a yummy splurge!

Kristin’s just catered dinner for my group of 150 hungry cyclist. Rave reviews all around. Grilled chicken was great as were all of the grain based salads that I ordered to keep up those carbs for the next day, And the blueberry/​peach crisp was out of this world. I couldn’t have asked for more

The best soups on earth!

This place rocks! I haven’t had a bad thing here. The VERY best is the walnut, oatmeal cookie bar things. Totally awesome! Best cookie bar I’ve ever had.

My tuna sandwich was pretty good and the salad it came with was just what I needed. The honey mustard type dressing it came with was great. This place just seemed like a sandwich shop for things you could easily make yourself but was too lazy to do. So I am not impressed, especially considering the price. One sandwich, one salad, one drink = $ 17. I recommend checking out Keene Fresh Salad which is just down the street!
