Overpriced, bland food. Service was not great. Portions were extremely small. Someone in group paid a few extra dollars for avocado on the side and it was a small sliver(about 1⁄8th of the whole). There are much better Colombian restaurants in Katy. I will not be back to this one.

Bad service, food can be a hit or miss. Expect to sit at the table and wait 10 minutes before anyone takes your order. Good thing about waiting is that by the time waiter comes you can tell him you are ready to order, now get your phone or book out because is going to be a while before anything arrives. If you come for the appetizers(antojitos) you are good, for an entrée I advise you reconsider some other place. I love Colombian food(all Latin food to be exact) but I feel like Mi Pueblito misses the mark when it comes to entrees. I love how every employee wears an ear piece as if they were secret service or the restaurant was so huge… 10 – 4? The original Mi Pueblito is far better

Having a Colombian bf helped me learnt good and bad food. This place has terrible«traditional dishes» and is completely overpriced. The food is blend and cold. I ordered it to go and when I came it wasn’t ready and it was cold. The avocado was NOT fresh, the beef was thin and tough. I will not be giving them another chance. If you want Colombian food, I recommend La Olla.

If you like Colombian food and want to have a pleasant experience then I’ll suggest you to either go to the original Mi Pueblito on Richmond and Fondren, or to try another Colombian restaurant. I’ve been to this new location four times and every time I go it seems to be getting worse and worse. The service was slow, but ok. We had to wait at least 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 6 – 7 minutes to get our empanadas. I ordered the bandeja paisa and was very disappointed. The red beans were undercooked, the meat was very dry, and the arepa ridiculously bland and dry. My girlfriend ordered the bistec encebollado and again she was very disappointed. Eating the bistec encebollado is like drinking soy sauce straight out of the bottle! Super salty and lacking flavor. Lastly, the prices you pay are high considering the quality of the food. I don’t mind spending money IF the food is good, but spending $ 50 dollars for this Colombian feast seems crazy. I really hope Mi Pueblito management could have the time to read my review and the reviews from others, because honestly I love the original Mi Pueblito but this seems like a cheap Chinese imitation.

Overpriced food, long waits, but food is good. Waitress answered in Spanish when we were speaking English which I don’t speak. Tried to use my groupon, but manager looked very unhappy about it; after a while he decided to agree to use it.

Terrible food and terrible service period. I ordered the chicken soup and it was cold and chicken was not chewable. I returned it and ordered a different dish. The manager or owner who ever he was never approached me about my return dish. Normally it’s the right thing to do to make your customers happy so they can come back. No! Not this case. As they didn’t even care! Will never go back. Highly overpriced for such bad food!

Very bad service, this was a horrible experience, when we was ordering we request a simple change the eggs from over-easy to scrambled and they don’t want to do this change

Portions are small for the price we paid. Not sure if is because of the groupon use but we ordered a calamari appetizer for $ 5.75 and it only had 6 calamaris in it. A medium fish soup bowl came with a tiny 4−6oz salmon for $ 13.50. I am not sure if I can afford coming here if it wasn’t for the groupon Ambience, wait staff and food quality is good. Just not the portion

I am not sure about all the negative reviews but my fiancé and I recently moved to near Katy and were thrilled to see there is a Mi Pueblito on this side of town. We loved the Richmond location, so we were excited to try their Katy location. Food was AMAZING. We ordered 2 empanadas, a ceviche, a medium steak plate and pork chop plate. Food was full of flavor and meat was tender. Portions were also big like their Richmond location. We finished every last bite. We will definitely be back!

Good was great. Waiter was really busy so we didn’t have drinks for 1⁄3 of the meal but otherwise very great food! Will be going back

I rarely write reviews unless it’s just a comical or horrible experience. Mi Pueblito at first glance has the feel of a restaurant that won’t be around much longer. I have been twice and won’t be back. The first time was just for a drink so i didn’t get a chance to try the food. The service overall is great but the restaurant was completely dead both times and the décor is laughable. The reason i give them 1 star is because the food is extremely over priced and the quality is sub par. There are many other Colombian restaurants in Katy that can provide a much better product. I had the Churassco Steak which was $ 20 and my girlfriend had the Arroz con Pollo. The steak was a sirloin with absolutely no flavor and it was tough. They even forgot to add salt and pepper and there was no chimmichurri sauce on top. they did provide some type of green paste in a plastic 2 oz. container and both my girlfriend and i thought it was horrible! The arepas pequenas were cardboard. I wouldn’t serve them to my dog! Absolutely no flavor and i would have preferred hospital food. Mi Hermosa’s Arroz con Pollo was very bland but it was much better then my $ 20 steak which i found myself pulling pieces of grissle out of my mouth the whole time. Her french fries had zero salt on them. Even McDonald’s knows how to season their fries. Did you hire Chef’s or line cooks with 3 months experience. Really? The only thing I ate that was even remotely edible was the Empanadas de carne. I used a Groupon to eat here so at least I saved a little money but I can honestly say this restaurant is in a horrible location in Katy and won’t be here much longer unless they can get their act together. I wanted to love this place so my last time here i was complimenting the red snapper my little sister ordered. I ordered it this time. SCALECITY! Wth really?!? It took me forever just to eat half of the fish because I had to spit scales out of my mouth every bite. I couldn’t even enjoy the delicious sauce it was covered with because guess what… scales there too. Service was slow, it was not busy. Waiter was nice just really slow. I did like their oxtail soup. I’ll be back for that sometime but beware of the fish. Must be too lazy to clean it… No bueno. Limpia el pescado!

Not too sure how anyone can leave a bad review to this place. First of all the food is delicious! By far the best Colombian food I’ve had in town. Both locations are great but I like this one because it’s close to my house and it seems to be less busy than the Richmond location. My favorite dish here that I recommend is the bandeja paisa. Essentially its a sampler platter of Colombian food. They also have a full bar and imported beers and sodas! The service can be average at times but not terrible as some of the other reviews I’ve read. Strongly recommend this place to any person wanting to try Colombian food!

Nothing like the original. Not only did it take forever to receive The food but it was cold and the pork skin was burnt. The portions were very small like the just ran out. Not happy with food temp but it was still good(I was starving and I don’t return food)

Their«plato paisa» is more food than one should eat but boy is it good! I would recommend ordering their medium plate and not their large(unless you have a huge appetite or want to take food home). My wife and I have gone a few times now and plan on taking advantage of some of their groupons as well. Their staff is friendly and attentive. Their food is a good representation of Colombian dishes. The restaurant is clean and attractive. This place is an excellent choice for those wanting to venture into something different; something they have never tried before. You will not be disappointed.

I took a friend there not knowing what to expect… The waitstaff was very friendly and took us to our table right when we arrived. We got the Bandeja Paisa, Shrimp with Rice, Fried Yuca and WOW!.. Freshly made, incredibly tasting dishes! Did I say the portions were very generous? YES!, also the prices were very good. I will definitely go back with my wife in the future. It is worth it!

This place is a joke compared to the main location on Richmond. The service here is horrible. They aren’t friendly and they can’t ever get the order right. This is our second time here and the first time wasn’t a good experience but we thought we’d give them another chance. But again we were disappointed. The location in Richmond is 10 times better than this place will ever be. The waitstaff seems like they get thrown out there and have no clue what they are doing. It’s a shame because mi pubelito use to be so good before they expanded. They got away from doing it the right way. Guess we’ll keep going to Tropicals on Fry Rd.

So the menu looked enticing but what a shame that the service overshadowed it. We didn’t even get to make it to order main course as it took 25 minutes for the waiter to come back over to us, and this was only when I flagged him down to ask for the check! My family and I waited long enough for him to come back to us. There was only 1 other family in the restaurant at the time so they were not busy! WORST service ever!

I am so excited that another Mi Pueblito opened in Houston but now right around the corner from my home. Typically when I go to a Colombian restaurant a good indicator of the quality of food is the beans inside their bandeja paisa! The famous Colombian dish here is done justice by it’s huge size and by the flavor profile. The Colombian beans are large and flavorful and they take a good 1⁄3 of dish and it comes with arepa, egg, rice, chicharron, chorizo! It would be a 5 star but the price is a little on the expensive side for a Colombian restaurant.
