Let me first start off by saying we LOVE the pizza here. It is closest to the pizza I ate almost daily in Piacenza Italy. That being said, it is extremely disappointing and horrible that they prioritize in house customers over takeout customers. Why even offer take out? My wife and I enjoy drinking some great beers over at WOB and bringing a pizza over from Grimaldi’s to enjoy as well. So we called them to order as we got our first round of beers. They told us it would be a 2.5 hour wait! Are you freaking kidding me? They explained the in house priority. So, we decided to go over there personally and be «in house» to order the take out. Same wait time was given, 2.5 hours. This is highly unacceptable from a business standpoint. I was a manager/partner of a restaurant and find this offensive to a customer. Just stop offering take out if this is your stance. A customer is a customer and you need to figure out a way to balance your business to accommodate both, or eliminate the problem. Unacceptable!

We have been routinely coming to Grimaldis for dinner as an option for kids. We typically get a pepperoni pizza double chop for kids and a specialized pizza. Overall we have been changing some of the ingredients on specialized pizza for the last couple visits and believe the quality has been consistent and pizza well cooked. The wine selection is good and house wines are reasonably priced. Only issue may be the wait but for freshly made pizza time frame is understandable. Good family environment, parking is difficult and wait time is reasonable.

Enjoyable food overall but the location is what makes the place. I have yet to find a dish that I really like, but have found items that I think are good. Problem is that I can prepare all of this at home and to my taste a bit better which prevents me from wanting to come here.

I was not ready to be AMAZED by such flavorful pizza! The pizza truly was ahhhhhmazing. It was served up with a crisp crust(just as I had requested) and a perfect blend of cheese, sauce(out of this world sauce I might add) and homemade meatballs. The coffee is the best I have had in Katy. The cheesecake we had for dessert(Amaretto Cheesecake) was delish!

Delicious! My family loves it and my friends and I eat here weekly! The white pizza with spinach and artichokes are my favorite!

By far the best pizza in town. The pizzas are coal fired Bronx style. If you don’t want to wait an hour or two for a table get there early on Friday and Saturday night.

The pizza here is great! It has thin crust style pizza and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is kind but not always the wisest. The prices are way too high. The toppings are at least $ 1 each and can make the total cost of your pizza to be $ 10 higher. It is a great restaurant for your family, but the bill may empty your wallet.

Pizzas are definitely one of the best I’ve tried, definitely worth coming here. They have anyways been consistent with the high quality. It has never been a dissapointment

Incredibly overpriced. Cool oven pizza is normally some of the best pizza you can ever eat, but the pizza here is just average. Their pricing structure for pizza will cost you absolute fortune. If you go with a group it will offset the cost, but things like adding bacon to your pizza is $ 4 it doesn’t matter if it is a large or small or personal size pizza … it’s one price per additional toppings. Absolutely kill you with on the toppings. The Waitstaff is less than average. Arrogant not friendly.

best pizza in Katy, you won’t find better pizza anywhere else unless you go to Houston. also great service. it’s a busy place so expect a wait but they’re very quick for the large amount of people they have. very attentive servers.

5 star quality but the pricing looks like a telephone number. $ 85 plus tip for 2 medium pizzas and 3 beers. Love their Pizza!

Great for families with kids. I recommend sitting outside if you have toddlers like mine who do better in fresh air and go stir crazy indoors. It can get pretty noisy inside. Their salads, house wine and pretty much any pizza(yep, I’ve tried most) are my favs… Don’t forget to ask for dough for the kiddos!

In terms of flavor of the pizza is great. If you like New York Style, with a crisp crust, this is for you. The pepperoni’s are pretty good(the small crisp ones, not the large soft ones). I also really like the Favorite Pizza would be red sauce + tomato + basil + garlic. The reason I give this place 3 stars is the way their pricing is setup. They nickel and dime you in a ridiculous fashion, in my opinion(i.e. toppings cost the same on a half or the whole pizza… this makes no sense — if you are getting a pizza half one topping half another — and they cost the same — why not just charge that one time? Also — we got extra sauce added to our pizza, and they charged $ 2 for this.) So I like the taste, but with so many other establishments around, makes it hard to want to go here when it is so expensive for what you get.

Pizza absolutely sucked(try some lessons from Frank’s Downtown Houston), very overpriced(over $ 100 for a family of 5), what a sad one note joke, if you like your pizza expensive and gross then this is for you.

Grimaldi’s is the best pizza there is. Period. No other is better. Made from the best fresh mozzarella… Not that shredded stuff. Good tasting crust. Its just the best. So judging on location and ambiance. The ambiance is… Ok… Its always packed and noisy. The location in Cinco Ranch is nice.

Employees smoking with the Same apron they make pizza with on the back patio Makes me wonder if they washed there hands. Restaurants should have rules for employees that make hand made food

Stinky Bug Experience. Grimaldi’s was my go to pizza joint but yesterday I had a live bug IN my salad. The managers reaction? He said«interesting» and then played with the dang thing at the table. I said NO, it’s not interesting; It’s disgusting. I almost ate that! It was a STINKBUG! I had to tell him to take it away. He never came back. The waitress, who was quite helpful and apologetic, asked if it was resolved and when we said no she saw that at least the salads were comped. Terrible managerial experience. Corporate contact initiated. b

Had a great pizza here last week. Good service as well and a nice atmosphere. And to the people on here that give it a low star rating cause of wi fi or poor internet connection. That’s super sad. Especially to the ones that say you can’t sit with your child and have dinner. You gotta throw an iPad in front of them to keep them occupied. Did it ever occur to any of you to go out to eat and be with your company??? Grimaldi’s doesn’t deserve a low rating for internet reasons it’s a restaurant! Keep up the good work guys :)

I’ve been back a couple times to Grimaldi’s since this first review and it just makes me scratch my head. They claim to take their beers ‘very seriously,’ but it’s very difficult for me to believe it. Maybe I’m just overly critical, but there isn’t anything on their list that makes me believe what they say. Shiner Bock is the most ‘exclusive’ on the list, but you know what? People in Delaware can get Shiner Bock. You can’t throw Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on your beer menu and say you take it seriously, no matter how good SNPA is. Give me local options — No Label is literally in the backyard. Saint Arnold even uses Silver Eagle. There’s seemingly no excuse. That said, the wine selection is good — from California and Italy — with even the $ 4 house pinot grigio being solid and well-balanced.

Situated in La Centerra, this is a great family friendly place. That being said, if you are not with a big family, you may want to go early or late to avoid the mass chaos of people waiting. They don’t take reservations so you’ll just have to try your luck. On the bright side, there are plenty of things to do and see outside if you have to wait. The lake is just on the back side of the restaurant and the grassy area is across the street, often with live music or other activities. The pizza is good NY pizza. We tried 3 varieties and all were tasty. The crust is made well(with water imported from NY??) and toppings fresh. The pizza kitchen is visible to the dining room so kids(and adults) can watch the action.
