This place had descent reviews. Looks inexpensive for hawaii so I gave it a try. When the parking lot was empty I was nervous but turned out to be a great find. Friendly staff, the burger was that perfect median between home cooked and restaurant style. Even got a free cookie! I felt like ohana!

Across from Bank of Hawaii at Kapolei Commons, with their own parking lot, Kua Aina. Burger, looks just like the Haleiwa restaurant. The combo meals are a great value which includes a burger, small fries and a drink. You can add bacon, Ortega peppers, and avocado to spice up your burger for an extra cost. Everything comes out piping hot and ready for pick-up at the counter. There is seating outside when inside gets crowded. This restaurant is busy at lunch time and does a brisk business.

The bf and I were in Kapolei and craving Thai food… But obviously that’s not what we ended up eating. Anyway… I was really sad when the Kua’aina closed on Ward the last time we were in town so we decided to check it out since we ventured out to Kapolei. We both ordered cheese burger combos(about $ 11 and includes a small fries and medium drink). I added bacon and the bf added grilled peppers, both of us asked for our burgers cooked medium. Mine came out perfectly cooked(although the bun was a little burnt tasting) and my bf’s was a little over cooked but not terribly so. Overall… Considering we actually wanted to eat Thai food and ended up eating burgers instead… It was a fulfilling meal.

I’m so sad they closed the location at ward. I absolutely love this burger place. Now we have to drive to Kapolei lol but it’s worth it. I always order the poblano burger, and get the pickle. The fries are thin and crispy. You can’t just eat one. The burger falls apart a bit but who cares lol it’s amazing. I’ve never tried anything else lol the burgers and fries are just too good. Go! You won’t be disappointed.

Great first time experience. Burger could use a little more seasoning however the food is made well, service is great, my family will be back.

I’ve always had a great experience here, and would look forward to the next time we would eat here… It’s usually the shoestring fries that I look forward to ordering. This time, the fries tasted a bit stale, as if it may have not been as fresh as I am use to having it, some of which was over fried a bit. We split a small order between the 3 of us and barely touched it. The burgers as usual was good, but this time, the burger patty itself didn’t have much taste, sorta bland like it needed salt or seasoning? but it was juicy! all together it tasted good. The restaurant this time has only one other table occupied, so they weren’t very busy. I’m sure it was just a bad day for them that day, still looking forward to dining here again. I hope they remain open and not close down like at Ward.

My favorite burger joint on Oahu. Food is all fresh made when ordered no pre cooked. Also got the pineapple burger, had them drag it through the garden. Both were half pound, once before asked for a double meat and cheese burger and they had no problem with fixing. One said they hadn’t thought of that and that would be their lunch.

My family and I decided to give this place a second try, because my Wife’s and I first experience here wasn’t as «flavorful» Our first time here I had an Ahi sandwich with rye bread, and wife had a BLT in a kaiser bun. Weell, one can never go wrong with a BLT, but my Ahi Sandwich is one I’d like to forget. I love seafood, especially Ahi, but my sandwich was drenched is tartar sauce and that basically killed my pallette and experience. Last night was our second chance for Kua’aina burger, and let’s just say it was better this time around. My oldest daughter and I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, onion and tomato. I asked that our burgers be cooked Medium, and well, we got it well done(strike 1). I asked for rye bread, but got Kaiser Bun(strike 2). My son and middle daughter ordered a plain Keiki cheeseburger with fries. Asked for burger to be cooked medium, came out well done, kids said just like eating cardboard). Wife ordered a Medium Avocado Burger, patty was well under cook, biting in to the burger was literally pink, as if it was never cooked.(Strike 3). Over all I’m pretty sure the burgers are great here, but for our second time coming here, we’ve been unfortunate to be stuck with less that favorable meals. Not sure if we would be coming back to this place to eat, but who knows? I’m just not sure yet. At least they’re shoe string fries was good!

This location has always been on «the list», but unfortunately we’re only out on this side super late at night to join the people of Denny’s for midnight dinner. Recently, though we had a chance to try this location out, the food is great and I love the amount of customization you can do to your burger. You can’t build your burger from the ground up like at «The Counter» but at the same time you also don’t have to drive all the way to Kahala Mall to get here. The space is very clean, actually it’s too clean, the amount of clean was freaking me out a bit, the ceilings are like 15 feet high, normally those are dust magnets even in restaurants like Ruby Tuesday and other less casual places. .. but here it was 100% clean. The staff is awesome as well, I will likely be dragging my friends here now to experiance it.

Came here with the hubby around 7pm. They close at 8pm. They were two couple seated in the dining area when we arrived, and others that came after us, so I guess people come in spurts. This was our first visit here, and we mentioned that to the young girl that was our cashier. She turned to look at the menu and smiled, but she didn’t go out of her way to recommend any of the items on the board. I didn’t feel like eating a burger at the time of our visit, so I opted for a b.l.t.a. on a kaiser bun. My husband got the ahi burger combo on rye bread. I liked my sandwich. It was simple. It was good. My husband’s burger was also good. It had a good flavor to it. My husband’s pet peeve about it was the mayo and tarter sauce it came with. Why would you serve an ahi burger with that, when it should be served with some kind of aioli. But then again, this is just a burger joint. The shoestring potatoes were awesome. Reminded me of the ones that come in the round containers that you buy in the store? Was good though. Maybe next time I come, I’ll come for the burgers.

This is a pretty darn good burger! It’s juicy and fresh. As a burger connoisseur, it’s not my favorite by far but it’s definitely a place I enjoying going to. Love the fried onion stack they put on the burger and the bun. Their fries are super thin and therefore, kind of messy to eat, but they’re delicious and fresh too. Also, service is always friendly and food comes out at a reasonable time. I keep wanting to try a salad or a chicken sandwich, but the burgers call my name every time.

I’m sure you don’t need me to write about how great the burgers are there. I’m writing because a slice of our tomato fell off the plate and landed on the table. I put it aside and wasn’t going to eat it. One of the workers behind the counters noticed it, and offered us extra tomatoes without us even asking. I was pretty stunned. The young man(I should’ve asked for his name so I could give him proper credit) went out of his way to give us good service, which doesn’t happen at most burger joints. I hope you see that this isn’t about me getting a free slice of tomato. Thank you again, attentive young worker!

Kua’aina no ka oi! For you mainlanders, that means that Kua’aina is THEBEST. No visit to the islands(or Target) is complete without a stop here. There are many places to get good burgers on the island, but only ONE place to get THEBEST burger, and that is Kua’aina. The Kapolei location of this long-loved island treasure from Haleiwa offers a convenient place to pick-up Ono grindz on the western size of the island, for our ‘Aina in Makaha, Wainae, Kapolei, and Ewa Beach. The quality is just as good if not better than the original, with juicy burgers, crisp bacon, fresh greens, and great local avocados being the menu standouts. The counter staff is always friendly, and food comes out at a fair pace, given that the burgers and sandwiches are hand-crafted as you wait. Although there is a wait at times, I have rarely seen the line past the door. Both cool air and breezy outdoor seating are available. I can’t overstate how much a visit will make your hunger pangs for good, island-style burgers disappear. Stop on by when you are in Kapolei!

We were in the area and my uncle wanted to come here to eat. We were a group of appx 25! We all ordered various burgers like the bacon burger and pastrami burger. They all came with a wad of lettuce and tomato and onion. The bun was huge. It was okay. The fries were like shoestring potatoes that you get in the can. It was okay also.

First time! Cherry Popper! Amazing Burgers! I had the Avocado Bacon Burger and French fries. The Burger was huge! But I manage to hold on and eat it. Very tasteful. Juicy burger. Even the avocado was packed with flavor. I recommend it that burger to everyone. Just make sure you can hold it. I couldn’t so I took out some onions, tomatoe, and avocado. But it was still amazing. The French fries were good but a bit thin. Service was awesome. I feel bad for them because when I was there, there was a couple with a toddler who left their trays and leftovers on the table. While there were two trash can 10ft from them. Have some common sense people don’t be a JACKASS and show your kid how you act. You’ll never get far with that kind of mentally. Other than that the people working there were awesome, very professional, and very courtesy. I enjoy my food there and will come by when I’m in Kapolei. Good job to the Kapolei crew!

Simple fast food Hawaiian style hamburger place. They offer salads also if you’re not in the mood for burgers or sandwiches. For the quality and size of burger I think it’s a little expensive. The burgers range from $ 8-$ 12 depending on what you get. I got the pineapple burger with Monterrey jack cheese with fries and a drink. Ask for teriyaki sauce to put on the side! They put a good amount of pineapples, onions, lettuce and tomato on the bun with the burger. The burger was quite a mouthful, however, the fries were a different story. As opposed to giant fries, they were really small and annoying to eat. I’m not a huge fan of small fries. Although the portion size was good, I still felt hungry afterwards.

Kua Aina had been a staple on the North Shore and also at Ward. Their newest location in Kapolei offers the familiar favorites in a clean, convent location. It’s in the same shopping complex as Target and TJ Maxx. The service is efficient and fast. The food, fresh made to order burgers and fries. The ability to customize your burger with various cheeses and toppings is great. Also, for a burger alternative, they do have roast beef! Overall, I do like Kua Aina. I do give Teddy’s Burgers a slight nod because they do have shakes as well. However i do think the service is faster at KA. I will go back to KA if I find myself in Kapolei again.

Cyndy’s Bottom Line: Great variety of burgers and sandwiches. This is what we ate: *Ortega burger. You have a selection of breads — multigrain, rye or kaiser roll and the option to add cheese and extras. The burgers are charbroiled comes with lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions. I ordered my burger medium rare. Although it was done medium. It was a bit dry, over cooked and tasteless. *Home made french fries. Sliced thin, nicely fried. Delicious!

Best burgers on the island!!! Kapolei is my favorite location but the Honolulu one and the Haleiwa locations are good as well. The Kapolei location is kind of hidden. It’s in the same shopping area as Target tucked all the the way on the other side of the parking lot, to the side of the building. Anyways, this location is spacious and has an outside and inside dining area. My favorite burger from here is the pineapple bacon burger which is $ 8 for the 1⁄3 lb and $ 8.40 for the ½ lb. Well worth the money. The burgers are huge and flavorful! The onion is grilled to perfection along with the pineapple. Homestyle fries are delicious as well :) Waiting time for the food is super fast. I probably get a burger from here at least once every 2 weeks. I’m kind of craving one now, actually. Their burgers are WAY better than Teddy’s IMO. I tried to order a pineapple style burger from Teddy’s and it didn’t even compare to Kua’Aina’s. My husband agrees.
