We returned to Captain Terry for a second trip after fishing with him in 2010. We had 3 anglers on board and several times all three of us had fish on at the same time. We brought back 20 fish: a combination of aku, mahi mahi and two other Hawaiian species. Like before, Terry shared the catch with us and we had enough sashimi and fish steaks to eat for days! I think this will be on our to-do list every time we get back to Kauai.

Just got back from a great day on the water with Captain Terry and his son. We caught at least 30 ahi and aku and thru back more. Terry kept us on the fish and we took back all we could eat. Comfortable boat and a great time. Highly recommended.

Fishing that day was slow but made up for it. A few days later a family friend who loves to fish(goes everyday on Kauai) said Terry was a very good fisherman so believe the reviews. Generous with the catch too. I recommend and will return when the fish are biting again.

We had a great time! Caught Mahi-Mahu, Skipjack tuna, and Yellowfin tuna, about 20 fish. Terry is a great boat captain and knows what he’s doing. I highly recommend this trip!

We did the half day charter for $ 130. This is the one thing my husband wanted to do during our trip to Kauai. I am glad we did and chose Hawaiian Style Fishing. Terry is great. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. He is a Hawaiian native and loves the water. It is small boat making for an intimate experience. There were 5 of us plus Terry but we all had plenty of room and space. 2 of us were able to fish at a time. We sailed out about 6 miles to a buoy where we immediately started catching fish. Caught about 9 tuna while out. Never caught any big ones but that is just the luck of the draw. Terry tried hard to find us a big one using his radar. It was my first time catching fish and Terry made sure I was going to catch and reel in a nice fish. He really makes it a nice trip for everyone. We went out on a calm day but the waters still were pretty rough. I would recommend taking a Dramamine prior whether or not you are prone to sea sickness. I did, and had no problems, another girl on the boat was not that lucky and spent most of the trip miserable. We were able to take home whatever we wanted when we got back to the dock. Terry sells the extra to a market. Thanks so much for a great experience. Funny story, Ran into my uncle while in Kauai who mentioned he was looking for a fishing charter. Had asked a local who said he had to find Captain Terry.

We had stopped to talk to guy pulling his boat out at the Anini ramp. Hubby has always wanted to go out on a boat to fish(we had a pretty bad experience on the BI) on Kauai. He was told to just go down to the Kapa‘a boat launch and talk to the guys coming in. Perfect timing, so drove down. Hubby talked to one guy putting his(WOW-NICE) boat in and was told Terry Teves with Hawaiian Style Fishing was the BEST! He launches from there too and his truck was in the lot. Hubby called the number and spoke with his wife, found out Terry was coming in, about 15 min, he had a Marlin! Oh yeah, we hung around. Got to talk to Terry, see the boat and the 305 pound fish! Hubby is going out with him in the morning, 6:00am, half-day trip. OMG, the man is just too excited!!! Now when someone needs a recommendation for a fishing charter, we can highly recommend Hawaiian Style Fishing! $ 130.00 half-day. Hubby had such a good time, they all caught Aku(skipjack). In Hawaii, the fish belong to the boat. Hubby caught 4 and was very happy, he got 3 nice fillets to bring home. It’s a 25 foot boat, Captain Terry is the only crew and he can take up to 6. Great captain, made sure everyone had a good time and worked really hard to find the fish! On this trip there were 3 others fishing. Hubby felt he definitely got his money’s worth!

Terry knows his stuff, works hard to catch fish and unlike most other charters in Hawaii, you will be able to take fish home. Very entertaining charter.

Went out with my three Brother in Laws on 29DEC. We killed the fish! Started fishing at the outer bouy for Tuna, caught four small ones(about 4 pounds each) within the first 5 minutes then the bite turned off. We immediately went to one of Captain Terry’s favorite bottom fishing spots and the bite was on. We caught over 25 fish all 20 – 35 pounds. Hawaiian Salmon, Amber Jack, Ulu, and Trevali. Captain Terry was awesome too. He doesn’t have a first mate so you do a lot of the stuff yourself — the way I like it. Bonus — he let us keep enough fish to feed our family of 20 people, Twice! Great trip, great boat that doesn’t smoke — no desiel engines. And Captain Terry ROCKS! Thanks for a great trip!
