Pizza Shoppe & Pub

I’m originally from St. Louis and am a die-​hard Imo’s fan, however… the first time my son took me to a Pizza Shoppe and I tasted that crispy, crunchy cracker crust, I was won over. Now I live over here on the west side and Pizza Shoppe is my go to pizza fix.

Good food. Sloooooow service. Make sure you have lots of time, especially during peak hours. I’ve been coming here for years and it never gets better either. It’s an easy 5 stars if the service was better. It’s a great place for a good carry out.

I may be a bit of a pizza snob but it is because I grew up eating such excellent pizzas being from Chicago. Pizza Shoope is a decent place to get your pizza cravings satisfied. I thought the pizza sauce was a little bland but wow, the very tasty toppings made up for the okay sauce and uneven cheese spread. I love the restaurant’s sit down area, it is everything a pizza restaurant should be. Comfortable, attentive wait staff, and live local sports, which a pizza restaurant should always have in the background and not live games from other places. If they work on the pizza sauce a little and work on how the cheese is spread on their pizzas, this could become my favorite local pizza place in Kansas City.

I seriously relish a trip to Pizza Shoppe. Although it’s just a bit «spendier» than normal for my budget, I love their thin crust pepperoni pizza and the salad with «the pink stuff» is always to die for.
While I do occasionally order a take out pie to bring home, I most often partake of their lunch special.

Best Pizza I have ever had! I went on a Monday with The parents and my sis Excellent specials! I had the combination pizza and a salad with the Pink stuff. Everything was perfect except the Beer selection, they only had 3 choices. If they had a larger beer selection I would have given 5 Stars. Service was also fast and friendly.

Ordered take out for dinner. Cracker crust was okay. Toppings tended to slide off — tried a pepperoni and a supreme, and both had the same problem. I’m sure that there is a term for this, but on the supreme the toppings gave the impression of being as well integrated as a sub-​sandwhich. Some supreme pizzas feel like everything is integrated and blended together («whole greater than the sum of the parts», kind of thing). Here, it was the sum of the parts … if they would stay on the crust. Clearly, some people like that style. I’m less partial towards it.
The people at the counter were friendly. The restaurant looked pretty clean, even though the decorations appeared to be trying to be a dark, bar-​like kind of place (lots of lighted beer signs, etc.). I guess that fits the suburban, strip-​mall environment in which it is located.
I didn’t see the reviews on Unilocal.Didn’t try the ‘pink stuff’.

Excellent pizza and great salads. The service was great, even for a busy Friday night. No matter what– you have to try the «Pink Stuff». Its their own special blend and its great on salad and pizza! I bought a bottle to bring back to St. Louis with me and its even great on sandwiches and pulled pork!
A must try for some great homemade pizza!
