Normally the service here is phenomenal as is the food. Tonight was the first time that i had a very bad experience. The server who helped us(middle aged Asian lady with accent) was INCREDIBLY rude! We ordered three identical plates and she seemed to not know what she was doing, and when questioned got offended at her wrongdoing and started scolding us in a loud condescending tone about how we ordered incorrectly when she was the one that was in the wrong. Obviously it’s not brain surgery to order food. Will come back again but never to that rude employee.

I agree with the average rating of four stars. Their daily special teriyaki chicken and hamburger steak were tasty soft and moist. The potato mac salad had tuna inside

This place is a MUST whenever at Kaneohe/Windward Mall. This place is quite expensive, but so much to choose from. It’s like an okazu-ya, but with more variety. One of my friends had a bad experience with one of the workers, but I shook it off and returned here anyway, but remembering her experience. Surely enough, my husband gave his order to a different worker than the worker that helped me, so when she rung me up and I explained, she got seriously aggravated at the situation and she made it clear to me what an inconvenience my husband caused her. I didn’t let it bother me too much because I had my eye on my meal. I rather she had it out with me than my husband, he would have felt terrible. But anyway, the food is so tasty, doesn’t matter what I order, I like it all. So much to pick from, it’s a difficult choice. I love that there is a lot of room to sit and eat, doesn’t matter how busy WWM is, I’ve been lucky with finding a table. The dining area is nice, clean and very comfortable. I love it here.

I always seem to eat here whenever I’m at Windward Mall. They have a variety of food. You just mix and match what you want to make up your plate. I usually get the chicken tofu, vegetable tempura, sweet potato tempura and a piece of crab roll. Their chicken tofu is excellent. It’s not too salty and there’s a lot of flavor in the broth. Their tempuras are ok but not how I like them. I like my tempura crispy with a light touch of batter. This place has the items drenched it batter. The batter is thick so it’s soggy and a little crunchy on the outside. The crab roll is like anyplace else but it’s double the size of other places. It was over $ 8 for this plate of 4 piece items, overpriced if you ask me. I could have gotten a full plate lunch for this price.

Saimin is always Ono. Had my usual… cone sushi, mac salad, hamburger steak, and shrimp tempura. The ladies are always fast, friendly, and smiling. You can tell they really enjoy their job. Thankd for the ono food!!!

Try subbing noodles instead of rice on any of their plate lunches! It’s fun and a definite must try!

Just a bit out of price range with all the other options available… still we like it. Maybe once month now… compared to once a weekend.

There aren’t too many Japanese okazu spots left in windward, Oahu. I’d say this is probably the best on this side of the island. Best time to come is first thing in the morning when the food is fresh and hot. Best dishes include the sesame chicken, spare ribs, and their assortment of noodles(chicken long rice, chow mein, chow fun, etc.). Everything is prepared and flavored Japanese style. A full assortment plate is about $ 10.

I went here to be a little different and try some of their musubis and side order of rice. Well, let’s just say that their portions are quite small for their prices, though then again, this is inside a mall, so one should expect things to be a bit more expensive. Not sure I’d come back when I’m in the area next time, though.

Their Mac salad is awesome! It reminds me of when my grandma use to make it for family gatherings. Friendly staff and great customer service. Thanks for the lunch guys.

Haven’t eaten here in a while. I think I remember why. The servings are small for the price. I ordered the sesame chicken plate lunch. Only 2 pieces of chicken, 2 scoops of rice and salad in a cup. The chicken was burnt and the rice was overcooked/mushy. The only good part was the potato macaroni salad.

Not worth one piece chicken for $ 6. Mini Teri Chicken is NOT Worth It. Rip Off!!! Never Buy From Here. I bought 2 minis for $ 12+tax. Worse Place to buy food.

I know I shouldn’t complain about price when it comes to food court Okazuya but damn $ 10 on a tempura, 2 cone sushi, and hash is pretty crazy. The girls are always nice there and my mom goes bat shit crazy over their noodles.

I love this place. I’ve been going here for the past 20 years or so. The prices are a bit high for the items I get, but I can’t get it anywhere else in the mall so I guess supply and demand. The food is usually better than average. I wish they would have new items every so often though.

Hmm… I’m kind of torn between 3&4 stars, but I rounded up. Hardly ever at Windward Mall & I just loved that when I arrived, parking was so quick(& it seems like there’s a lot of it). Maruki Tei is located in the food court… Very easy to find and I thought it must’ve been a favorite since there was a good amount of people in line before me. I wanted something FRIED because I felt very deserving. I ordered one each of the tempuras: vegetable, sweet potato, and shrimp. The vegetable tempura was made up of shredded carrots, and very little onion and green beans(wish there were more veggies used) plus the batter. And well… The other two were made of sweet potato and shrimp: P. Out of the three, my favorite was probably the sweet potato, but not by a very large margin. I ordered my food at 2pm and so it was probably sitting out for a while, which is why is wasn’t as good as it would have probably been if it had been freshly fried, but tasty nonetheless(and parts were crispy like I like it). However, I still hope to try it when it’s still hot & fresh. Since I read that the sesame chicken here is a must-have, I ordered it in the form of a musubi. It was good, but I think that the rice was a little mushy for my taste. Together, I paid about $ 9, so a little more pricey than a plate lunch, but I wanted something that I could eat while I drove back to the west side. There looked to be a variety of dishes and sides to choose from & I intend to try some more.

Really good variety on the menu. Good service from the women that work here. The good always tastes good! It is located in the new renovated food court in Windward Mall. Nice big sign in red. You can’t miss Maruki-Tei.

The bf introduced me to Maruki Tei. I’m pretty impressed with him, usually I’m the one who knows where all the good places are to eat. I really enjoyed the food at Maruki Tei. With a huge character for«happiness» near the shop sign, I didn’t expect anything less than perfection. It is Japanese Deli(Okazu) style where you can get little dishes of different things to culminate into a plate of amazing variety. There were many things you can choose from, and if this style doesn’t fancy your interest, they have plate lunch style for most of the entrees. The bf swears by the sesame chicken, and although it was delicious – kind of like a meatier, better version of mochiko chicken, I definitely have to come back to try the other offerings. The chicken plate comes with two scoops of rice and yummy mac salad. The chicken long rice was also very good. Pork kabocha?! Tempura, musubi?! Yum. I’m drooling just thinking about it. The store counter is located in the Windward mall food court, and there is ample seating during weekday lunch period! I highly recommend!
