Authenticish fast food Tex-Mex. Taco Johns is awesome, cheap Mexican and your experience really depends, like anywhere you may go, on how well it is managed locally. At this location they do a really stellar job at providing fresh, fast food and you can choose to eat it on the go or in a clean, well-decorated environment. The salsa bar is great! I mean it’s not outstanding salsa but there is no other venue in town with a salsa bar. No extra charge and the food is already cheap! My favorites here are the Crispy hard-shell beef tacos($ 1.70 ish), the Super Nachos or even just their Chips and Nacho Cheese dip, and the best… the Potatoe Oles. I don’t know what they sprinkle on these things but a tater tot never tasted so good. Beware… they are not low-fat. You can order the kids size which is 330 calories and that usually satisfies me. For a real splurge, you can dip em in the Nacho Cheese. I like TJ’s because, unlike Taco Bell or other fast food joints, I don’t feel bad after I eat their food. No tummy aches. They tout their ingredients are fresher. Whether that’s true or not, not sure. They do make your order as you order it, so nothing is sitting around. Chips, taco shells, taters fresh fried to order. They seem to change their oil often so there isn’t that icky old oil taste on everything. Because it’s made to order you might find you wait a little longer… I think it’s worth it and it’s still pretty fast.

The food is ok. Generally pretty blah, but not all that bad. The potatoes are actually pretty good though. Inside the restaurant is gross. Dirty and not well maintained and it’s like they mopped the floors and sinks in the restrooms with piss.

This was my first trip to a Taco John’s. We were grabbing a couple of tacos for the room. We went through the drive thru, which generally, my husband doesn’t do, but after 10 hours of Glacier park fun, we didn’t care. 6 tacos and a taco burger was $ 8.85. The tacos were larger than taco bells and had plenty of meat and cheese, but the shells were thick and not light and crunchy. The taco burger was okay. I did like them better than taco bell and would probably go back if I wanted a taco while I was in Kalispell.

If I could give them no stars, I would. This place is terrible fast food. I don’t have anything against fast food, but this place is awful. If you’re looking to eat crappy tasting«mexican» food and get sick, go here. To top off the utter badness that is Taco Johns, their slogan is «a whole lot of Mexican spoken here.» Seriously??? If you’re in Kalispell or the Flathead area, go to Taco del Sol, Qdoba or Wrap and Roll for some good mexican fast food.
