We always take out the Ninja Superman — all time favorite. It has been consistently good. I have ordered the Superman sushi platter several times for pot lucks, and it is always a hit. Sushi is fresh, nicely presented and flavorful. We will continue to come back!

The people were really, really nice. Super nice. So friendly and so nice. Aside from that… When you walk into the place you get hit in the face with… reek? It smells a little bit like a bathroom. A bathroom where fish have been murdered. And then after the fish were murdered someone came in with some bulk cleaner and cleaned, except that person was blind and missed a lot of spots. That’s what it smells like. The kids meal are cheap, though my kids didn’t care for them. My youngest was miffed that it didn’t arrive in a bear plate like the picture, but that’s just the breaks. My California maki was absolutely terrible. I’m not sure in what direction is was terrible, but it just tasted… not good. I had to force myself to eat half of it and then gave up. It did not come with ginger or wasabi or good flavors. My son, however, liked the beef udon. Which is not any sort of testament to quality as he is 9 and thinks those waxy fruit snacks are the shinizzle, but at least he enjoyed his meal. The trash can had a tall, precarious pile of recyclables balanced on it as the tiny recycling basket was full, and the trash can was disgustingly sticky. They seemed like such nice people, but never again.

BEWARE!!! The owner’s son pushed me after I notified him that I received the wrong order and wanting to either change it or get a refund. He was cussing in Korean thinking I would not comprehend the language. All witnesses /customers were apalled by his actions to include his parents on site. I had to resort in non-violent actions because of my military profession and held my composure to take the high road(trust me, that was really hard for a grown man to accept). I immediately began recording the owner son’s reaction to capture such erratic behavior. Apparently, they ran out of what’s on the menu thinking that I would not recognize the different order. WTF over?! Sal

One of the best sushi places on the island. Service is quick and the prices are very reasonable. The fish is amazingly fresh. We’ve been coming here for the last 5 years and have never been disappointed.

I was doing a job in Kailua today, when the gf calls me, and asks me for some help as her car had a flat tire. To top off her bad day, she didn’t even get to eat lunch either(it was like 4:00PM)…as she couldn’t go anywhere due to the flat tire. Upon finishing up my work… Dat dada daaaaaa! Super Fran to the rescue!!! I strolled next door(from where I was working) to a place called«Ninja Sushi». Upon scanning the menu, I decided to order a «Salmon Combo» for the gf, so she could get something to eat, while I changed her flat tire to her car. The«Salmon Combo» consisted of(5) pieces of Salmon Sushi, and(5) pieces of Tempura Maki Sushi. I did not get to try any of the food(you will have to ask Jules Y. on how da grindz was), but I have to say the service was excellent! As soon as I walked into the shop, the friendly clerk acknowledged me right away, and after placing my food order… it came out pretty fast. I liked it, that when I have a loved one in a pinch, and needed food… I was able to go here and get what I needed real quick! Thank you Ninja Sushi!

The worst Ninja Sushi branch on the island. Every time I walk into this restaurant the fishy smell is overwhelming. In other branches I never/rarely smell the fish. The last time I was in here it look the woman 5 minutes to even acknowledge my presence although I was the only customer in the store. I guess whatever was on her comouter was more important. I didn’t mind it at first because I was going over the menu. She told me to let her know when I was ready. I let her know, twice no answer. A couple minutes later I was ready to walk out but then she finally stood up and acknowledged me. I ordered a T-dragon maki with no unagi. Super simple. I’ve ordered it a few times at other Ninja Sushi branches with no problems. Usually they’ll give me extra avocado on my roll instead. Once my order is ready she calls me up, I grab my food, and leave. It wasn’t until after I already got home that I realized I didn’t have shoyu, or wasabi(items that other branches always give you without having to ask) AND there was unagi on my maki roll when I asked for none. It only had one small piece of avocado. The shrimp tempura inside my roll was completely soggy as well. Last time I went to this Ninja Sushi the spicy ahi roll I ordered had wayyy too much mayo on it and the tiger maki fell apart really easily. I most likely will not return. The customer service sucked, and the food did as well.

Picked up a sushi platter. Ahi was old. My young son ate a piece and got sick. Chef denied he used bad fish. Don’t go unless you like ripe fish.

2.5 stars this time. Wife’s salmon tasted totally fishy. Told the server and the«chef» brought us some salmon sashimi. Not quite as bad but not good. Two of my 9 pieces of unagi were kinda tough and chewy. The others were fine. The unagi/avo roll(minus fake crab) was very good. Have found out the food here is really inconsistent. Probably won’t return.

I live around the corner and have tried to go twice before, bit they were closed during their advertised hours. I got lucky tonite, but apparently cuz its a Saturday night in a holiday weekend, they decided to close early and I was the last customer. She threw my sushi together so fast it looks like baby mush, i had to ask for soy sauce packets as I was shuffled out the door and I get home to find NO wasabi. Come on!!! I will not go back, their priorities are out of wack. The sushi was just okay.

Frequent this place from time to time. Son loves the spam rolls. I opt for the spicy tuna rolls. Always what we expect. Not fine dining by any stretch. It is what it is

Usually this is a very good place but I came in 30 minutes before closing and I felt very rushed. When I came home I found that my gyoza was missing. Other than that the food was delicious. I suggest getting the spicy ahi bowls, those are always so delicious.

Good food, decent prices. Check your bag before you leave though. The past two times we went for take out, they had left items out of the bag that we had paid for. If we hadn’t checked the bag, we wouldn’t have known. Also check receipt, we have been charged wrong a few times too…

Kids love the udon here. My son is picky and he says this is his favorite! I like the flavors of their dishes… some tend to have«strong flavors» but I like stronger flavors. In a way it’s almost as if you can’t eat too much of it or you might not feel good. But they don’t give you so much that you do feel this way! A little pricey but comparable to other places like this.

My favorite sushi place in kailua. Most the time I just eat sashimi t the house, but when I’m craving rolls it’s ninja or nothing. I highly recommend the superman roll one is a good light meal/heavy snack and its so good. It’s the perfect level of spicy, crunchy and savory.

Spicy poke was alright, but not the best. Prices also seem a bit steep for the portion size. Super nice people working here though and the location is convenient for a beach day at Lanikai.

I went here less than a week ago and I have to say, I will not be returning. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE ninja sushi but this location has to be the most junk of them all. If you are craving sushi and are in the Kailua area, don’t go here — Waipuna sushi is wayyy better! The reason why I will not return is as follows… — Every time I have been here my tempura is not fresh, cold and soggy. I like my tempura fresh and crispy. — They put too much sauce on my maki — it ruined the flavor of the sushi overall. — The guy who took our order sneezed into his hands multiple times and didn’t wash them before bringing over our tray of food, and he forgot to put the ginger on the side, I had to get up an request it. — Sushi portion is pretty small. –They are closed on Mondays & Tuesdays Overall, not worth it in my book.
