Mid Pacific Eyecare

To add to Jason D.‘s review… I’ve been going to Dr. Cherilyn Lai for a number of years now and am very happy with her.

Wow, I can see clearly now! So I was in the market for a new eye doctor since my previous one retired. I was looking for someone closer to my age so I could stay with that person for a long time and my friend referred me to the person he goes to, Dr. Kristin Shimabukuro. Mid Pacific Eyecare has two offices, one in Kailua at the Kailua Medical Arts building near McDonald’s, and one in town on Kapiolani near the First Hawaiian Bank and Don Quijote.
I went to the one in Kailua — clean and modern office. Note that you can either find street parking, or park in the garage behind the building. I was promptly greeted and Dr. Shimabukuro came out shortly thereafter. She was friendly, attentive and listed to my concerns. The eye examination was thorough and she explained things well. She put me on a trial for a different type of contact lens from what I had, gave me a week to try them out, and then made tweaks. I must say that I’m very pleased with the services she and her office provided — especially since I can see much, much clearer now.
