Same price for half as much, really since construction they must have to cut corners somewhere so make smaller servings. Spent about8 $ then went out toget a cup of coffee at their competitors. Very weak«double espresso» Latte then small cupofcoffee, paid the same prices at the other placesforhalf as much. And no discountrefills, each small cup same high price, not worth it

So nice, friendly and helpful. Very mellow environment. They had great choices and topped off my cup. I could sit and enjoy a cup here every day.

Really loved the quaintness and atmosphere surrounding this place. Needless to say, the coffee is outstanding, especially the lattes, their cookies — wow, and their desserts are very good too. What’s really cool too is that they gave a coupon after our first visit. I really enjoy this place. There is plenty of seating, but I vote on bringing your coffee to the beach in the morning. Match the quality of coffee with a beach and it’s a start of an amazing day. The only downside might be the parking. Being a lame tourist, I relied on the side-streets and just paid the meter directly next to the building. I really recommend checking this place out.

My favorite coffee shop on the island! I drive all the way to Kailua from Mililani because the food and drinks are phenomenal! And the staff is always extremely friendly!

Came here all the way from Kapolei. The food is great friendly staff. I recommend the mozzarella tomato garlic spinach parm for breakfast. Also they have a wide selection of coffee as well they also have the affogato(ice cream with coffee). The lemon cookies are amazing as well if you are in a rush for a quick snack and drink. Always gotta visit this spot when I am on this side of the island.

While I was in Honolulu this place caught my eye and I’m glad it did. Went in and got a regular coffee with a breakfast sandwich and it absolutely made my morning before my hike in Lanikai. The workers gave off such good vibes and comfortable feels. It was also the cutest little coffee shop I’ve ever seen, inside and out. Took my biological father with me, he doesn’t say much but right after that first bite of his sandwich the words, «Damn this is good,» spilled right out!

Super sad because this used to be one of my favorite places to study but I can’t see myself coming back here any time soon. They have very few, uncomfortable tables to choose from, terrible utilization of space. Chairs are hard, old, and not ergonomically friendly by any means. Maybe they do this so you don’t stay for too long? The service was mediocre along with their coffee. Nothing special. After I finished my coffee and water, I went to what used to be the bathroom which is now covered by a book shelf. When I asked where the bathroom was, the girl just said, «we don’t have one.» Seriously? No bathroom in a coffee shop? She said, the closest bathroom was hardware hawaii. –_– after lugging my books to and from hardware hawaii, I asked the girl if they had a plan to fix the bathroom and she just shrugged and said, «not anytime soon.» Whaaaat? Guess it’s time to find a new place to study!

Great coffee, great service. They also have a good variety of food. I have witnessed first hand the ingredients they use when making the goods. They do not cut corners when providing their customers with superb quality. Nothing beats friendly service and clean food! Just not quite sure what a frittata is.

My friend lives really close to ChadLou’s, so we went one morning for coffee. We had both eaten breakfast already, but she told me that the drinks here are divine. Though ChadLou’s is within walking distance of my friend’s place, we drove to make the commute time shorter. There’s a small parking lot in the back … there are limited spaces, but if you’re fortunate, you’ll be able to score one. We went pretty early on a Saturday morning, so there was ample parking available. Not only that, but we had our prime choice of seating. I absolutely loved the vibe and décor of this coffee shop. It’s the perfect place for studying or getting work done. I love how the chairs look antique but cozy; I wouldn’t mind camping out for a few hours here! DOWNSIDE: There is no bathroom. Or, I should say, there is a bathroom here but it doesn’t work. When we asked where the closest restroom was, they directed us to Hardware Hawaii across the street! They really need to get their bathroom fixed … it is a coffee shop, after all. Plus, that’s a major deterrent if you want to stay here for a few hours. If I overlook the bathroom issue, this would be one of my favorite coffee shops on the island. Not only is the menu extensive, but there’s a good selection of baked goods as well. I regretted eating breakfast on the morning my friend and I visited this coffee shop … otherwise, I could have helped myself to one of the delicious brownies or treats available! I haven’t tried any of the cookie ice cream sandwiches yet, but I’ll save that for a future visit. Once you order, you can help yourself to water from mason jars and pick your choice for seating. I absolutely adore the look and feel of ChadLou’s and can’t wait to return … once their restroom is in working order, that is. Here’s what my friend and I got: «Iced Mocha»: My friend like sweet drinks with a hint of espresso, and since it was a hot day, I opted for this medium mocha over ice. My friend had gotten this before and highly recommended it. I loved the chocolate taste and was able to get this option with almond milk. As with all iced drinks, I had to be careful not to gulp it down too quickly … but it was so delicious that it was hard to consume this slowly. It was a great choice during my first visit and I would gladly order it again. «Hazelnut Latte»: My friend got her latte iced because it was a warm summer morning, and though the«Iced Mocha» I got is her go-to order, she wanted to try something different. So, she opted for one of the syrups you can add into your drink and chose hazelnut. She said she liked this drink because it reminded her of Nutella, but she still preferred the«Iced Mocha.» «Mocha Chocolate Chip Ice Grindz»: I asked what the«Ice Grindz» drinks were, and the girl at the counter told me these are similar to frappuccinos. I would gladly choose this drink one day! I’m sure it sports a super chocolaty flavor, since it’s already mocha and includes chocolate chips. As long as I can order this with almond milk or soy, I’m good to go. «Creamy Kailua Mocha»: I didn’t get the chance to ask about this drink option on the menu, but I’m curious to see how it’s different from the iced mocha that I got. I’ll be sure to ask during my next visit; on paper, this option already sounds delicious. «Brownies»: During my first visit, they featured brownies with and without macadamia nuts. If I were getting one, I would opt for the variety sans the mac nuts. They looked really chocolaty, moist and soft, so I can’t wait to try one during my next visit. «Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches»: ChadLou’s is famous for their assortment of cookie ice cream sandwiches. I’m not sure what ice cream flavors are available, but I would choose M&M, chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies as the sandwich base if they are available.

This place brings out my inner hippy! This place is earthy cool! Like slide me some moccasins and I’m good to go, yo… CHADLOU’S COFFEELOUNGE, SINCE2010! A cozy coffee shop tucked away in Kailua, O’ahu. A few patio tables line the sidewalk and a bunch of eclectic stools, chairs, furniture scatter the interior. On my visit the patrons were hippyish or of college age. Pretty laid-back atmosphere and oddly I felt right at home, tho I’m neither hippy or of college age. Anyways… The menu can be described as a more diverse menu than your average coffee shop. You can have your standard coffees or teas, fancy ones, or I was told even off the menu drinks, non-alcoholic, of course. House made gelato(best known for ice cream sammies) and baked goodies dominate the glass cases. Sandwiches and other lunch time bites can be had too. Just minus the booze. Yup, the«lounge» part might confuse you, but let’s just say«cozy neighborhood coffee shop» with a very interesting or boring crowd — it depends on what crowd floats your boat. After small chit-chat with the barista I order a chai over rocks. It’s poured in a glass mason jar for those into the green recycle thingie. I choose a slice of zucchini bread. No silly, I’m not trying to fit in, or impress you-know-who, ahem. It really did look good. The chai was made to perfection although the ice cubes seemed excessive. I seriously could be sitting there for days if I allowed the ice to melt. The zucchini bread was moist and delicious! Don’t you just love snacks that sound healthy, but probably aren’t? Oh well. Hey, I would definitely recommend… CHADLOU’S COFFEELOUNGE, SINCE2010! No, I wouldn’t go out of my way for it if you’re a townie because you have similar type of coffee shops, i.e. Morning Glass, Glazer, etc. closer to you. Yet, if you’re jonesing for an ice-cream sandwich, plus moist baked goods, plus tasty non-alcoholic drinks this place is worth a stop by. Unbutton your shirt and let the good times roll! Oh yeah, just thought it was odd for a shop with the«Greenpeace vibe» to have real starfishes decorating the entire shop! So, I see what I think is a synthetic paperweight shaped like a starfish — it’s holding the menus. I pick it up and realize it’s a dried up starfish. No Finding Nemo fans here, I guess. Just a tad morbid, IMHO.

Unique coffee shop with a hipster vibe. A nice place to chill after visiting Lanikai beach. The ice cream sandwiches were decent but you can probably get better ones elsewhere. Tip: there is free parking through an alleyway behind the store. The shops on the same street are unique and fun to browse.

Unilocalers, you led me astray. I visited ChadLou’s for one reason, and one reason only — the ice cream sandwiches. I had read review after review that deemed these amazing and for only $ 2.50. Well, let me tell you — my ice cream sandwich was nothing special and PUNY, and I guess they’ve raised their prices because it was a whopping $ 4.50. I get it — inflation. But nearly 2x what the price was just a year ago for something I finished in less than a handful of bites? I should have asked how much it cost first before ordering(didn’t see the prices for the sandwiches or any of their pastries anywhere). I did also buy a slice of papaya bread($ 2.95) and I do have to say that I enjoyed that — super super moist, and I’d take one of those over their overpriced tiny ice cream sandwiches any day. However, it wasn’t memorable enough for me to want to return. ChadLou, I’m passing you up the next time I’m in Kailua, and saving my precious calories(and money!) for something that’s actually worth it.

After a long day at the beach, sometimes you find yourself in desperate need of some caffeine. That’s where ChadLou’s comes in. This hodgepodge coffee lounge has quickly become my last stop before making the drive back into town. At first glance, it’s easy to write this place off. The interior looks a little rundown and I’ve noticed some proportion issues with some of the seating options, but after a few visits the place really starts to grow on you with its rustic charm. Just be sure to steer clear of the lower table tops paired with the taller red stools. I’ve seen people sit there and their knees just end up hitting the table. There’s room for larger groups in here, as my friends and I(a group of about six) always find ourselves sitting around their largest round table. There are also couches you can sit on in one of the corners. My only complaint? It gets a little hot, as there’s no AC here. What keeps me coming back? Their delicious drinks and *dirt cheap* prices. My favorite so far has been the Kula Ice Grindz. Kula is their vanilla/lavender flavor, and it’s really delicious blended. A medium will run you about $ 5 — that seems to be the perfect size for me. If you’re dining in, they’ll bring it to your table in an adorable mason jar, perfect for Instagramming. I’m also a big cookie ice cream sandwich fan, and you can get them here at an AMAZING price. Choose from their homemade cookies(you can get a different one for each end), your flavor of Dave’s Ice Cream, and voila! Press and enjoy. You can even stop by for a pot of freshly steeped tea. Believe me, the presentation is beautiful! Two clear cups and a tea pot, lovingly placed on a wooden board and brought to your table. And get this — you can even get a refill! All for about $ 4. It’s just great. There’s also free WiFi available. I’m definitely a fan of this mom and pop business and will be coming back for my coffee or sweets fix whenever I’m in Kailua for sure! CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS: Yes, but there is a $ 5 minimum. PARKING: Free in the lot behind the shop.

A cute little café spot that serves coffee, sandwiches, ICECREAM, and desserts. Was recommended to come here by our friend Mark. His cousin owns this place so we made it a point to check it out! Great service — they were really friendly and willing to let us sample all the flavors! We ended up getting an ice cream sandwich with half ube ice cream and half coconut macadamia nut ice cream(chocolate chip cookie of course) VERYGOOD! The cookies were AMAZING!

Great quite soothing place to unwind with a coffee or cool down with local made ice cream. The sweet potato UBE tastes as good as it looks! Fresh pastries and hand made sandwiches also bring this place into the comfort zone!

Cute coffee shop with free WiFi and good drinks/snacks. I’m not a coffee person but the coconut mac nut iced tea latte is delicious! The only downside is that there is a $ 5 credit card minimum, but that’s not hard to get over if you grab a sweet plus a drink. Otherwise, just bring some cash. Plenty of parking in the back of the building and plenty of seats inside!

ChadLou’s is my go to place for a cool afternoon treat. What can I talk about? The ice cream sandwiches? Pick your own cookies and flavor ice cream equals your own slice of heaven! The tea lattes? So refreshing on a hot day! My favorite is the pineapple vanilla latte. I’m thinking about it right now! The food? My daughter love-love-loves their croissant sandwiches.(I do, too!) The place has cute décor. Enough room for one with their laptop(free wifi) to a group of friends that just popped in after a day at the beach. There is even seating outside to enjoy your food/drink and people watch! And the staff are always awesome! Parking is in the back or metered parking on the street. Cute little shops neighboring ChadLou’s so you could just walk around after getting your drink. If you have time, you should pop in & try it out!

When you are waiting for a table or window shopping, an Ice Grind from ChadLou’s Coffee Lounge would be great to walk around with. Blended ice, coffee, ice cream, and flavor, so thick you have to let it warm up a bit to suck it up through the straw. I like the Kula(lavender), the Honu(caramel), and the Raspberry-Almond. Open air and relaxed, regulars sit in the small sitting area doing work and eating ice cream sandwiches. This independent coffee shop is worth stopping by the next time you’re in the area and there is free parking in the back.

After seeing the great reviews for ChadLou’s, decided to check it out. The ice cream sandwiches everyone raves about were ok. The cookies, I guess, are homemade but I think the ice cream is Dave’s. I found the cookie/ice cream combo was hard to eat as the cookie was too hard to cut through –size was also on the smaller side. Cute seating area although mostly taken up by people in groups doing work. Assortment of coffees and teas and a cute atmosphere make this place worth visiting but not necessarily a destination for me.
