Surprised to find such great BBQ at an Alaskan food truck! I had the brisket and hubs had the ribs. Both were cooked perfectly. Was impressed that they even asked if I wanted fat trimmed from the brisket. 4 stars only b/c by the time we got there only choice of sides was slaw and Cheetos. If it’s good meats you’re after, this is the place to be in Juneau.

Excellent brisket and Randy was great to talk with. Give this place a try if you like BBQ. The price is right too.

Found this shack while in Juneau on a cruise stop. The pork slider was moist and had good flavor when paired with their homemade BBQ sauce. Would stop here again

Randy’s was incredible! The ribs, chicken, baked beans and Cole slaw were all phenomenal and the sauce was Delicious! My husband and I had the pleasure of speaking to Randy as well and he was such a kind humorous caring person! Customer service was A+! The temperature of the food was perfect and there were so much meat on every bone. I will definitely come back one day!

Great find, especially on a cold wet day visiting Juneau. We had the brisket and pulled pork sandwich, both delicious. The beans had a little kick, and the coleslaw added wonderful balance. Had a chance to meet and talk with Randy as well. Good conversation over delicious food makes for a great meal.

What an amazing find! Tucked in among several food trailers. The ribs and brisket were so delicious. The seating is informal at picnic tables. Since they were busy, a local couple offered to share their table and we had a great time enjoying our food over pleasant conversation.

It was really good, wish that they had an indoor restaurant around town sitting in the cold wind enjoying good food didn’t mix well but the pulled pork was great

Friendly people, great food! The ribs have a dry rub and sauce on the ribs or on the side. Perfect for all tastes. Great beans too!

Gluten free travel is a nightmare! We stumbled upon this awesome BBQ after ditching the hour-long wait at Tracy’s crab shack. Located near the cruise ships. They were knowledgeable about gluten-free, offered to show the labels on packaged item used in their cooking, and he even changed his gloves before preparing my dish(without me even asking)! Oh, and the food was amazing! I loved the brisket, and the sides were tasty. Prices and portions were reasonable, especially given a tourist town. My mother-in-law had a chicken sandwich and loved it(a bit spicy she said but she’s a wimp). If I’m ever in Juneau again, I’ll be back.

Outside food truck-like setup. The ribs were flat out awesome. Good service, friendly staff, great food at a reasonable price.

So good! Nice flavor to the ribs, very generous portion. Beans are good, coleslaw was just ok. Much better than I expected for Alaska, if I lived in Juneau I’d be a regular.

Randy’s rib shack is the best. The ribs fall of the bone and the pulled pork was awesome! Randy went out of his way to make our first experience a great one. We will be back!

We ordered the full slab, cole slaw and macaroni. We were in on a Holland America cruise and wanted something to take back on board. They were all out of sides, except for beans. The meal came with two sides. They didn’t offer to reduce the price. However, they did offer chips. We declined, however. The ribs were cold, and just meh. The bbq sauce is what is getting it 2 stars instead of 1. It was alright. I want to believe that this was just a bad day because of the other reviews. However, it could be that people have different expectations of ribs in a seafood town. I’m not sure, but what I received definitely wasn’t the 5 stars everyone else on here is raving about. But for the sake of being nice let’s say it was just because it was late and/or a bad day. If they were closer, I might give half a slab a try first thing in the morning. We didn’t even eat them. After tasting them, we threw them in the garbage. It was a lot of money wasted. Though I heard the fish and chips place was amazing.

Ribs are excellent I’m sure I saw Lucifer himself in the back whipping up the BBQ sauce. Better to own a rib shack in Alaska than serve ribs in heaven.

We stopped in after our excursion in Juneau after reading the reviews on Unilocal. We were desperate for a decent meal after being on Holland America for 2 days. The food on Holland America was barely edible other than their breakfast. I had no idea until I got directly in front of the place that it literally was a shack. Needless to say I was a bit apprehensive. That quickly went away when I tasted the ribs. I went with 3 other friends. Three of us had ribs and our other friend had chicken. All of us loved every morsel of everything that we ate. I’m from Los Angeles and have been a foodie my entire life so these compliments don’t come without a decent amount of food experience. The owner Randy couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating and when we left he insisted that we take one taste of his brisket. I was so stuffed I could barely eat another bite but I tasted it anyway. I don’t even like brisket particularly but it was amazing. I also wanted to mention the baked beans were particularly good. One might ask what could make baked beans great. Hard to say, but they were delicious and have a bit of a kick to them.

Fantastic! The BBQ sauce was a great sweet/spicy mix. Tried both the chicken & pork. Randy(or I assumed it was him) was very friendly. Only 4 stars, because this was a food truck. Not bad, but just a little less than what we wanted in terms of sit-down/service. He does have a tent or two set up with tables under it, so even though it was rainy, we were able to sit & eat. Note that the portions are large, so can probably split with someone. Definitely dip the fries in the BBQ sauce. Yummy!

Best BBQ in Juneau! Everything is so good. I love the pulled chicken sandwich, best with only dark meat. The brisket is to die for, and there really isn’t anything I don’t like here. The sauce is a little bit spicy, so if you’re sensitive to spicy like I am, go light on the sauce because it’s still good regardless. Oh so yummy.

With only one review I was planning on being disappointed. I was wrong. This place is behind the library along with a couple other«shacks.» As I was served the ribs the proprietor was proud to show off how well he had cooked the ribs. I smiled and knew the proof was in the taste. He was right. They were excellent. Now, don’t think you’re getting a 5 star resturant experience. This is an outdoor walk up, take out experience. They get 5 stars from me because it’s difficult to find«fall off the bone» ribs in Juneau. These ribs were very good.
