Horribly overpriced sushi & rice! We were the only people in the restaurant, ordered one salmon roll, one spicy salmon roll &2 orders of fried rice. It took longer than it has ever taken us to get sushi in a crowded restaurant. I finally got the sushi & it was so sloppily prepared that the rolls kept breaking as soon as I picked it up with my chopsticks. Their fried rice was the worst fried rice I’ve ever had. It had no soy sauce. It tasted like white rice and onions & had the biggest pieces of egg in it. It seemed like they cooked the egg, rice, & shrimp all separate then put them on the plate. I will say their yum yum sauce was good & the sushi itself didn’t taste bad, but that is the only positive feedback I can give. Oh & one last thing, if it’s not on the menu, they will not do it. Even if they have the ingredients there. Absolutely no substitutions and they mean it.(I included pics of the shrimp fried rice & the spicy salmon roll)

Pretty overpriced and pretty slow service. I went there for lunch and it took thirty minutes to get my food. The food was good, but it is overpriced in my opinion. I would rather go to Sushi Mito next time.

I could write a book on Sushi House and its owners Jenny & Alex but I think it can best be said by my telling you I lived in Japan for 5 years and when I eat at Sushi House its like being back in Japan Food quality is over the top and a neighborhood /part of the family atmosphere. Imagine when you go in to have lunch or dinner and the customers say hello to Alex(the worlds most amazing Sushi Chef) you realize how many regular customers they have and the reasons are Quality of the food, the people and the cleanliness(next time you eat out look at the AC vents. Well the are sparkling clean like the bathrooms and everything else! If you or someone your eating with says they don’t like Sushi no problem they have lots more. Try them. You will kick yourself for not going sooner. When you go tell men you read about them on Unilocal

Having travelled around the U.S. extensively and having been to Japan, I can safely say that this is some of the best and most fresh sushi that I have had in America. Their sloppy shrimp and super duper rolls perfectly combine skillfully chosen flavors that do not overpower each other. Many of the rolls here are the most creative I have seen. The presentation and service is great. The food is even better.

Best sushi place in johns creek. Great food and it’s always fresh and yummy. And they actually offer very good service unlike a lot of the other sushi restaurants I’ve been too. They have good people running this place! Crunch roll, dynamite roll, green tea ice cream and fried ice cream are SO good!!!

Great people running the place. Great service. But the fish quality is just not there. Go with a roll, not nigiri or sashimi, like I did

I decided to try this place when my mom and I were meeting for lunch. It seemed like a cute little sushi place, but boy were we surprised! We sat down and both ordered iced teas. When we got them and took our first sip we both looked at each other like somethings not right about this. The iced tea tasted salty and like chemicals. I assume they may have mixed up their sugar and salt, and that the tea urns were not rinsed properly after cleaning. I got up and told the server what we tasted and her response was«oh you don’t like the tea?» I was taken aback a little because it seemed like a weird question to ask after I told her it was salty and tasted like chemicals. Well I asked her if we could could switch our drinks out for a couple of ice waters and hot green teas. She brought us one water and one green tea. So my mom is sitting there with nothing to drink until she finally came back to the table and we have to ask AGAIN for another water and hot tea. She did bring it right away. My mom order the shrimp tempura soup and I ordered the sushi lunch special #5. The Miso soup that it comes with was nothing short of mediocre. Anyways, the second I got my sushi I felt a little weird about it. I eat a lot of sushi and there was a piece of fish i didn’t recognize on the plate. It was brown in color. There was another lady that came by the table to check if everything was ok(I assume she was the owner). I asked her what kind of fish it is and she told me its albacore. Ok, maybe I just haven’t seen brown albacore before. I’ve seen it dark red, light pink, and grey, but not brown. So I ate the California roll on the plate(which was Ok). I took one bite of the other piece of tuna on the plate and I couldn’t finish it. It tasted weird. When it comes to eating raw fish and it tastes weird, its probably a safe bet to stop eating! So the server comes over with the bill. Not noticing that I obviously haven’t eaten half my lunch. I let her know that I’m in the industry and I NEVER complain, but at this point I had no choice. I told her everything about the meal and right away the owner whom I assume was her mother came to the table and asked me what the problem was. Again, I apologized for complaining, but told her what was wrong. Her response was«That’s fine, you don’t have to pay for it» I told her its not about paying for it i just wanted to let her know what my concerns were. This is where it get just unbelievable. She gets angry with me and starts getting completely unprofessional. Shes telling me i’m the only one to ever complain and blah blah blah. I let her know that I do the same job she does, I’m in the service industry as well and that she is not handling the situation properly. She tells me that this is the way SHE handles it. I proceed to point out that her restaurant is completely empty in the middle of lunch hour and suggest that maybe her way of «handling things» may not be working for her. Her and the guy behind the sushi counter, which I assume is her husband(lucky guy) were both yelling at us in their EMPTY restaurant. Well after we paid, yes they made us pay for this horrid experience, we walked out the door as she yelled for us never to come back. Are you kidding me lady, of course we wont be back! Good luck with your business. You are obviously doing an awesome job;-) So long story short if you are considering this place for sushi, reconsider. Any place that you go will be better! I guarantee it!

Went here for dinner a few nights ago and enjoyed our dinner. I got the salmon and scallop teriyaki, husband got the sushi regular combination and we shared the California roll lava style or however you call it. The food was all quite good but the stand out was the scallops. They were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The three things of real note at this place are: 1. The teriyaki sauce and dressing is fresh, not just some canned junk. 2. The sushi is very fresh, in the words of my husband«it was really fresh especially considering Atlanta is a land locked city» 3. Their special cooked rolls are amazingly flavorful. Most of the time you get a substandard roll smothered in mayo, here there was a ton of delicious in the roll and the topping. For strip mall sushi this place is legit.

All I can say is, what a pleasant surprise to find a pretty good sushi joint in a strip mall. We decided to try this place out and brought our family for a joint fathers day/daughters birthday since both of us love sushi. The family-owned atmosphere here is refreshing, but the pricing could use a little adjustment and they could do for a little more lighting inside as well. Fix both of these and I give it 4 stars. The food/sushi here is good, but I don’t see myself making this a regular stop for sushi when not 5 miles the other way there is a conveyor belt-sushi place with tempura oreos. Now that’s fun. Overall, I absolutely appreciated how our server catered to the needs of our 5 and 11 year old as they are extremely picky eaters, and that goes a long way in my book.

Nothing fantastic really but still pretty good. I’d come back, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. Good atmosphere, good service, sushi was decent for the price.

This is my favorite place so far in Georgia to go for sushi. I’m from California and have found it quite hard to find a good sushi restaurant out here. The business is very authentic, wonderful staff, always super nice. My favorite thing to order here is the super crunch roll and the salmon lover roll, would highly recommend!!!

SUSHI — MEHOK(tasted sour or spoiled or something, didn’t taste fresh), COST — $$$/4 sort of expensive rolls for what you get, DECOR — drabby, dark, dingy. Didn’t look clean or very Japanese, SERVICE– slow but super friendly(that’s what the extra star is for) We actually came here because of all the rave reviews and a friend who lives nearby recommended it. Went for lunch. Had the Steak Bento Box — Ok but included a lot of salad and rice filler, California Roll-Ok was a little dry, Dragon Roll-Ok for some reason it didn’t taste fresh, Shrimp Tempura Roll-bleckkk, I think it was the sauce they slathered on the roll it really tasted sour, spoiled. A couple of soft drinks and tea — all this for nearly $ 60 with tip. I thought was a little expensive for what we got. Décor was sort of drabby dark and not very clean looking. As well, Service was sort of slow even though there were maybe 3 other tables(6 customers). If you order the bento box it’ll come fast but if you order sushi it’ll take a little longer. Table behind us who walked in 15min after us got their bento box before we got our sushi. The girl who served us was very nice and friendly and her mom(owner) seemed very sweet. Like I said before, they get the extra star because the server was so nice. But you go to a restaurant primarily for the food. We MAY go back and give them a second chance. Unsure Conflicted as to whether to recommend.

Just had aweful experience at this place. We found a small cockroach in our steak teriyaki. Because I was with my three children and there were other customers, I wanted to solve the problem without a scene. So I quietly took the cockroach to the counter and showed it to the waitress. As soon as she saw it, she was stunned. The waitress said if I wanted to cancel or a new plate, so I asked for a new meal and we got only got the amount of steaks that returned. Up to this point, no one had come and said sorry which made me really mad. After we we’re done I went up to the counter and politely asked the waitress to take the steak teriyaki off from the bill. And the female cook/owner came and said to me, «because you said you wanted a new steak teriyaki we have given you what you wanted. Why are you complaining? You know you are overexaggerating about the whole thing.» I really think she is out of her mind to say something like that to a customer who just had a cockroach in her dish. I didn’t hear any apologies from that lady and I will never go back there ever again. And had to share this with everyone!!!

This is not your typical authentic Japanese restaurant. The place is run by a family, a very good one. The servers are very kind and very attentive since it is a family run business, the servers seems to know the menu very well. I cannot speak for the Sushi as I only ordered a set of rolls. Our order was 2 sloppy spider rolls and a spicy tuna roll. For a sloppy spider rolls, I’d prefer not to have sloppy toppings on it as it kind of ruins the taste of soft crab roll underneath it, when I removed the top imitation crab meats, the roll was excellent. Spicy tuna roll on the other hand had finely chopped Tuna mixed with the spicy sauce in it. I personally would’ve preferred the tuna to have more texture to it. It almost tasted like I am consuming left over tuna minced and mixed with a sauce. We like to come here for a roll, but like I said, can’t speak for the Sushi or Sashimi. ps. I’d like it even more if they have a non-Americanized rolls as well.

Terribly over-priced compared to any and every sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to! When we walked in, the owners were chopping ingredients openly in the dining section. … Okay? In retrospect, I probably should have immediately turned and left right then. The moment I opened the menu, I was absolutely FLOORED by the prices. ~$ 10 for a plain tuna roll without even cucumber or avocado? Whaaaat. ~$ 14 – 16 for a special roll? HORRIBLERIPOFF. I might have been able to justify the prices if not for the AWFUL sushi. The sushi was extremely low quality, did not taste fresh, and was extraordinarily bland. You’d be better off getting sushi from the Kroger across the street — not even remotely kidding. The fried rice was equally terrible. This place’s food is a JOKE. I will never, ever, ever eat here again. The owners were kind and the atmosphere was nice, but those are the only redeeming qualities of the entire establishment. You would be much better off driving down to Haiku sushi near North Point Mall and grabbing their lunch special. You can get two premium rolls that actually taste fresh and delicious for a comparable price to one roll at this establishment. SAVEYOURTIMEANDMONEY — Go elsewhere for sushi!

This is by far my favorite sushi place. It’s a great local spot, friendly staff good service and great sushi. If you’re new here I recommend the Tuna Lover roll(provided you like tuna) or the southern bell roll. They also have good fried rice if you’re not into the sushi thing.

This might be the most over priced place I’ve ever eaten at. I quickly jumped on Unilocal to find the highest rated sushi places in the area and the top was closed so we ended up here. An hour and a half later I was thinking, «well at least the food that finally came was delicious!» And then I got my check. Two rolls, one serving of chicken fried rice, water, and tip… $ 40. No thank you… I will not be back. I should have known when I didn’t see any sort of lunch special on the menu!

This is a great place, but it is hidden away in a quiet section of the shopping center. It took us a few minutes to find, but I’m glad we did. We went in for lunch and I got the teriyaki chicken bento box, and my wife got the california roll + crunch roll. I was happy to note that the health inspection was a perfect score(100). The service was very friendly and personal, and even interacted with our 17 month old daughter. Most places seem to be annoyed by kids, but our waitress really went out of her way to interact with her and make it a fun experience. The food was great, and well priced. The restaurant has a very cozy feel. We will be back for lunch and dinner many times.

We gave Sushi House a try because of it’s 4.5 star rating on Unilocal. It looked like most other strip shopping center sushi restaurants upon entry. The staff was very, very friendly and attentive. We ordered a seaweed salad, crab meat and avocado salad, Sloppy Spider roll, Molten Lava Scallop Roll, California Roll, and White Tuna Nigiri. Everything was excellent! I wish I lived closer to the Sushi House. It would be a perfect weekly sushi fix. I’ll definitely make it a stop when I’m close by.
