Been here many times for breakfast/brunch…everything I have had has been amazing! One of my fave stops for breakfast.

I’ve been here a couple times now for brunch on the weekends. Service can vary by server. Some are very on top of filling waters and coffees, some are not. It’s always packed when we’re there, but I’ve never had to wait which is verrrrrry nice. They do fit a lot of tables into the restaurant, so everytime I’ve been there, my chair has been touching the chair of the person behind me. Not a big deal if you’re a smaller person, but if you’re tall or heavy, it might be too tight. The food is good, though. A nice classic breakfast/brunch place. I’ve only ever had their variations on eggs benedicts and their lox omelet, but it’s all solid. Also, it’s relatively kid friendly!

We went to West Avenue Grille in Jenkintown Pennsylvania for a catered event. We were expecting 100 people and we took walk-ins. It was a class reunion. The restaurant is in a sweet part of town and parking may have been a challenge for some but that can be usual for this neighborhood.(I had no trouble parking and it cost me a quarter) The layout is a long hallway with two distinct rooms on either end of the hallway. It is well lit and the artwork(all for sale) was colorful. Two decent bathrooms. Windows all over with white lights on them. It was tastefully decorated for the holidays. The restaurant staff was easy to work with a head of time. Everything in our contract was provided plus more. On the day of the event the event coordinator set up the restaurant perfectly. She was even able to make slight adjustments right before the event as well. She kept the event running and greeted people at the door kindly. The food ordered for 100 was salmon and chicken Marsala, roast potatoes, green salad, and green beans. It was very tasty kept coming out hot from the kitchen and the guests loved it. It was BYOB and that helped us keep the event affordable. «Business» was taken care of in a tasteful manner. The restaurant was loud and actually perfect for our reunion with 100+ people. Everyone was overly satisfied and did not want to leave at the appointed time. The staff saw this satisfaction and allowed us to stay 30minutes over. Now THAT is a good restaurant.

This is my first time visiting Jenkintown and I must say that it’s a wonderful place. Anyway, this place is good. I had the two eggs, hash brown, and bagel platter. They give you option of bagel with butter or cream cheese or toast. You also have the option of getting onions and peppers on your harsh browns. The eggs and harshbrowns were a bit bland but nothing salt and pepper cant fix. The sever wasn’t very friendly but the rest were so it made up for her service. I recommend this place if you’re in Jenkintown.

Nice brunch place in a cute area. Nothing particular special about it and slightly overpriced especially for the portion they give you. I’ve tried their benedicts, sandwich and belgian waffle but nothing really stood out to me. They have excellent service though. Had a big birthday brunch there one morning and they didn’t mess up our order and were attentive to us.

Really nice spot. Super friendly staff and great food. The service can be a little slow at times.

Friends moved to Jenkintown recently so we tried out this place for breakfast. Wait was a little long but there were 5 of us and it was Sunday morning. Small place, close tables. Service was friendly, I think it was the owner greeting people. The food was pretty good, I got the wag eggs Benedict. Came with thick toast, Canadian bacon and poached eggs. Good spot to soak up the drinks from the night before. Didn’t get to eat them today but pumpkin pancakes sound delicious. Will try to get back here and try more things.

WAG is a classic spot and is much beloved in Jenkintown(my hometown). Their tomato soup is awesome as are their breakfast items. I’m just sad they are no longer open for dinner.

So this is my new favorite place to go after moving uptown from South Philly where the cool dining options are plentiful. I’ve tried a few things from the breakfast menu and I must say I was extremely impressed every single time. Some of the best turkey scrapple I have had in my life. The owner is such a sweetheart. He comes over to make sure you are comfortable and your meal is good. Now I only have one complaint. There’s this one waiter(bald guy) who could probably be a little nicer. He’s not out right nasty but his dry, bland demeanor and monotone is borderline rude. I did notice him laughing and smiling with another couple the other day so I’m sure he can do better. Idk maybe it’s me lol But on more than one occasion he was this way. I had my cousin with me who noticed it too so I don’t think I’m making it up. Despite that, this is still one of my favorite places to eat and would recommend it to friends.

The most delicious and friendly family owned spot in all of jenkintown! Great food, great service, and always great to see Bob and Dan. Chef Gil is the best. Seasonal specials are always delectable. Highly recommend this joint to everyone and anyone! So excited for their new private party room

I really want to like this small local business, but all the key elements of a dining experience just weren’t there. I’ll start off with the good: Staff friendliness — hostess greeted us with a smile, accommodated us well, and everyone working there seemed to be in a good mood. Seated immediately. Variety — somewhat of a large menu, so while others were in the mood for breakfast foods, I was able to get lunch. And that’s about it. Now as for the areas of improvement… Food service: our group was kind of big, 5 adults and a baby. But 45 minutes for our food was pushing it. We went for brunch, so nothing fancy — burgers, wraps, eggs. Food came out mostly at the same time, except for one person who order eggs over easy, bacon, and waffles. They brought out the bacon on a small plate, but that was it. Had to flag our server down which took about 5 minutes to inform her, and another 5 – 7 until the rest of the food came out. Food quality: we had nothing fancy, so wasn’t expecting too much. But my burger was cooked well done when I requested medium, and the brioche bread was upside down. I’m no cheese expert, but I think I got American cheese instead of Swiss as I ordered. Look at the pic and you be the judge! Burger itself was somewhat bland, and I wish the bum could’ve been a little softer. Ok, a lot softer. Everyone else’s dish didn’t seem like anything superb, but for the price that we paid… Pricing: for the quality, I would’ve expected it to be cheaper. A side order of fries was $ 6, and it wasn’t much more fries than what accompanied my burger. The side order came with a side of cheese, but it was nothing special. Burger came out to like $ 9 and change, but again, for that price, I’d expect a lot better. Coffee was $ 2.50, which seems steep for your run-of-the-mill cup of joe. Refills included. In summary, I wouldn’t return here. And truth be told, I went to the area to eat Our Family Café, but it was closed, so settled for WAG. Ah well, lesson learned. Might’ve been an off day, so try it out yourself. You might like it.

Always tasty. Sure I could change a few things. Good quality seems to depend on who is good it. Pancakes aren’t great. But their mile high French toast and eggs Benedict are worth the trip. Wish they didn’t give you«packets» of syrup, I mean at least hide the cheap syrup in glass containers. Homemade turkey is delish in a wrap. Always leave satisfied.

We went July 3rd for breakfast, arrived around 9:45am. From the time that we ordered our food to the time that it was served it was a little over 40 minutes. The only time we got an update on our food was when we asked about it. I am aware that it was the day before a holiday but bringing in more staff next time. And after having people weight so long for their food at least give the courtesy of a % off the bill, it’s called customer service. We had the strawberry French toast and the Nova LoxBenedict, learn how to make home fries! The food was good(minus the home fries) but the service was something I would rather forget!

Someone recommended that I get a burger. Advertised as «Fresh ground sirloin» and as being on a brioche bun — it was anything but. It showed up and I guess the waitress saw me staring at it. «What’s wrong?» She asked. I said, «I thought that this was on a brioche bun?» She said the ran out. My conciliation prize: an eight-for-a-dollar hamburger bun from the grocery store. After I tried to eat it — it was clear that it was not fresh ground sirloin, either. It was clearly a frozen patty. It was not seasoned, either. Maybe they were out of fresh beef too. I had to dump ketchup on the burger just to give it any sort of taste. Either way — they could’ve told me when I ordered and I would’ve gotten something else. Or — when I noticed it wasn’t as advertised they make an accommodation of some sort. For $ 12.50 plus tax and tip I had a burger, fries, and soda much worse than anything at McDonalds. So much for my first(and probably last) experience here.

I’ve heard people from my school rave about this place, and it’s really nothing great. I got the Kansas skillet which was good, sort of small. My boyfriend got the lox omelette which was alright. The food was pretty bland and you could probably get it anywhere

We came here 1 week ago on a Saturday afternoon. The weather outside was soo beautiful. The tables outside were full so we decided we didn’t want to wait and was seated immediately inside. I ordered the special for the day. It was a Salmon, avocado, lettuce and tomatoes sandwich on toast with a side of sweet potatoes fries. It was delish. The Salmon was so juicy and cut perfectly to fit the size of the bread. My BF had the Nova Benedict which was tasty as well. The only thing is that the potato pancake that it sits on seems a little redundant with the side of potatoes that it comes with. So my suggestion would be to ask to trade out ur side with something other than potatoes. Service was also great. We were in and out in no time.

We came on a Sunday morning expecting to wait but got seated right away. The restaurant was packed but the rush did not effect the prompt service. The challah French toast was AMAZING! It was a large portion so we took some home and it tasted just as good the next morning. I would recommend West Ave to anyone looking for a delicious brunch with great service. Looking forward to going back soon!

We came in during brunch time(around 1pm) on a Friday and it was EXTREMELY busy and crowded. The waiter/waitresses/bussers all looked frazzled and harried, so I won’t pick at the fact that they forgot our water and utensils(I reminded them politely and they were quick to bring the forgotten goods out). The pandemonium of the lunch rush and the forgetful service don’t even matter to me because honestly, I come here for the FOOD, specifically the BREAKFASTFOOD – OHMYLAWDSOFUCKINSCRUMPTIOUS. I had the belgian waffle with caramelized strawberries and nutella and let me tell you: the waffle was fluffed to perfection, the nutella was melted and drizzled in alllll the right places, and the strawberries added a nice, slightly tart, astringent flavor to offset the sweet. After scarfing down that doozie of a waffle, I had absolutely no regrets. In fact, I would go back and do it again. Except I probably won’t be wearing tight, high-waisted jeans the next time.

What a great brunch! We went in on a holiday, but the place was bustling. The avocado, swiss and tomato omelet was excellent. Portions were very big and service was exceptional. Definitely our go to brunch spot.

West Avenue Grill first came to my attention about a dozen years ago when I had time to kill in Jenkintown. Back in those days, WAG was a much smaller operation located cater-corner from its current place. I was smitten after my first bite of Mile High French Toast with caramelized bananas. Since that time, WAG has earned a spot on our regular breakfast rotation, plus it has been our New Year’s Day breakfast spot for six years running. Nothing better than ringing in a new year with family and friends while enjoying a heaping helping of French Toast or a Kansas City Skillet(Mr. M’s fav) and several cups of strong coffee. The service has always been efficient and and the servers pleasant. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced.
