This was a solid 2.5 rating, but rounded up. We had driven by a few months ago while out on a drive. We stopped due to our interest in how run down the facilities appeared to be. The building needs some serious upkeep. For some reason that made me wife want to go inside but they were closed so we came back several months later. I knew it was dicey when we pulled into the parking lot at 5:20pm on a Saturday and there wasn’t one other car in the parking lot. We open the door to go in and before the four of us are in the door the owner is there with menus asking if we needed a table for four. I told him we didn’t know if we were eating but would be stopping by the bar first for a drink. They have clutter everywhere. Stuffed stacked on the floors. The dining table all have several figurines laying on them. Our table had a wolf, bird and a couple of other animals. At the bar each time I ordered a Miller Lite the bartender would have to leave the bar area and go to a cooler in another room to get a beer. I can’t believe they couldn’t find an area behind the bar to stock it. The menu was on one side of a legal sized paper. Couple of steaks and some seafood dishes. No pasta. Very limited menu-also no prices listed. Told the bartender I had a picky eater and the he talked to the chef who said he would make a pasta with cream sauce. Wife, son and I had prime rib. The kids ordered curds as an appetizer. They were frozen prepackaged, meh. Wife and I had 16oz prime rib and son had 12oz. Each piece was 4 – 6 ozs over that. My son claimed since nobody was in there they knew they had to serve it so the cuts were very generous.(I like his thinking). Prime rib was ok, nothing great. They were all ordered medium rare and all came out gray. Sitting under the heat lamp too long. No au gratin potatoes either. Ask for a Peppermint on the rocks after dinner-none of that either. This place appears to be hanging on by a thread with no extra funds to either update the place or provide quality food. Very sad to see someone who owns a place watch the place slowly die.

We have been to this place several times and had wonderful food. But then they decided to let their son cook. Apparently he does not know what a ribeye steak is. Instead I was served a sirloin steak. I’ve been in the food business for 37 years and I know what a rib eye looks like and I know what a sirloin steak looks like. So I decided it was a mistake no problem. Then my buddy and I decided to go visit them. We ordered our food or drinks and we were eating our salads and before we even got into our salads barely we received our prime rib. The prime rib was cold not a lot of flavor and probably was individual pre-cut steaks I can’t say that positively cuz I did not see the prime rib before it was served to us. My buddy and I or steak aficionados we love our steak. The mother should go back in the kitchen she is a better cook than her son I hate to say that but it’s true. We will not go back. It is a shame because it was one of our favorite places.

All of their food is local and delicious! All of their staff is friendly! The décor is a rustic style, which is awesome! The price is right as well! Best place to eat at in town!

I love the Edgewater! The food is always exellent. We have tried the steaks, scallops, fish fry, burgers, and salmon. My niece from Minneapolis tried the scallops and said they were the best scallops she has ever had. My brother loved the steak and so does my husband. I recently met a friend for a birthday celebration and she had the catfish, she’s from Indiana and said it was the best catfish she has ever had. I love the eclectic décor and the cocktails. We had mosscow mules in copper cups, berry martinis on another night. The desserts are always changing. Last summer we had the most delicious strawberry pie from a local pie maker and on my birthday there was chocolate mint cake which just happens to be my favorite combination. You can sit in a large private booth, in the dining room or out on the porch that slants toward the quiet river. You can also sit at the small bar for a cocktail before dinner. Kudos to the new owners!

they ran out of the special by 6 on a saturday. they ran out of the beer special by 6. the waitress mistakenly told us they had pecan pie when only peach was available. the only local offerings are the veggies which are on the relish tray. this place needs a MAJOR wake up call. the owners are great folks and are trying to do something good but fall extraordinarily short when it comes to executing a decent supper club.

I have no idea how this place gets positive ratings, it was a complete travesty, waste of money, and I wish I could have the time I spent here back. For a supposed supper club, the«relish platter», a staple of the classic Wisconsin supper club, was made up of three carrot sticks, three cherry tomatoes, and what seemed liked a single stick of celery cut into three small slivers, considering we had a party of six it was almost laughable when they brought out two tiny bowls. The room overlooking the river only suits someone at around five feet of height and is slanted enough that it gives you a perpetual feel of falling. The waitress had almost no idea about anything on the menu, and when ordering drinks had to refer back to the menu, something I might understand on an extensive and elaborate menu, but this was rather paltry and the young lady was supposedly training someone. Oh and pro tip, coming back every few minutes to ask if we are done yet with our obviously half full plates after ignoring our table for the better part of thirty minutes was a nice and annoying touch. The cutlery and glassware looked as if it were put together slapdash with whatever the owners happened to have extra in their personal collection which makes the price of all the food here even more aggregious. I am no stranger to spending a fair amount for food but very rarely have I ever felt as robbed as I did eating here. None of the seafood options were even remotely local, and my half cold meal was reflective of the amount of care they put into the preparation. Everything came out a slop upon a plate and preceded by a salad that looked like shredded ice berg with store bought dressing. The fact that when they bring the check it doesn’t even list out each item you are paying for, only«open food» 1,2,3,etc comes off as particularly shady, even basic POS systems allow you to itemize and print. Talking with my party afterwards we came to the conclusion that the owners must have googled«what makes a good restaurant» and started at the top but gave up after«paper menus with a nice font» and«carafes for the wine» without ever working on food, presentation, décor, staffing, service, or anything else that makes a good experience rather than feeling embarrassed to have listened to someone and taken my friends and family here.

Was not impressed at all. With the first glance at the menu, I was shocked to see some of the prices they were charging for certain items. Luckily, I am one to pay a hefty price for GOOD food so I gave it a chance. I regretted that chance after receiving my food; it was subpar quality. Unfortunately with the experience that I had, I can foresee this establishment following in the footsteps of the previous owner.

Old school Wisconsin supper club experience. Great view of the river from the dining room. Great steaks and mixed drinks at a reasonable price. Includes some fun extras like seasonal morel mushrooms. It’s worth the trip.

Can’t miss if you’re in the area and worth the drive if you are not! If you didn’t «know», you would drive right by, but don’t. This is the true Wisconsin Supper Club, only better. You are instantly family and the food and drinks are amazing. Sourced locally or grown by the staff, the food is fresh and the chef could challenge any 5 star big city chef(I live in the Chicago area). Desserts are baked there and the coctails harken back to the rat pack days — even homemade beer! Special dietary needs were met with a smile and amazing food. Love dining on the patio(indoors) and watching the birds and the river wildlife(named Edgewater for a reason) — but watch your head if you’re over 5’6″. Can’t stress enough how much we love The Edgewater Supper Club!!!

They have some of the best steak ever at this place. The soup is a non stop sipping session because it’s so good. This place is purposely decorated in a different way but don’t let it fool yeah. The service is great with friendly people. Fantastic food all around.

We were not impressed. Seems like very nice people. We were greeted right away and were seated quickly as we had a reservation. Décor is odd. Everything from the chairs to glasses and even the dinnerware is mismatch.(Which would be fine if the food was good) I ordered wine from the wine list, and was told they were out. I ordered the soup(ham and bean) And that was very good. We didn’t get a relish tray and the rye bread was store bought. Then it was 40 minutes before our main dishes arrived. Not worth the wait. My filet was over cooked well done(I ordered medium) So they redid it. This time it came rare. I ended up taking it home to cook myself. My husbands ribeye was good(he ordered med rare) But it was a little fatty. I feel if we pay $ 27 for a steak they better know how to cook them. Baked potatoes were under cooked as well. Mushrooms tasted like they had been cooked ahead of time and microwaved to order. The other person with us ordered the catfish. He said it was good but a little undercooked as well as it wasn’t crispy. He has been bartender in the past and tried the old fashion special. He said it was the worst he’s ever had.(since when do you muddle an old fashion?) We didn’t have dessert as they were out of the port they have on the wine list.(Here’s a tip from a foodie. If it’s on the wine list have it in stock!) We won’t be back. P. S. Take the plastic fruit off the table.

First of all, do not pass this place by because of the outside appearance. Both the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! Started out with a spot on «Don Draper» Old Fashioned with rye whiskey garnished with sour cherries. They have an extensive cocktail and craft beer list as well as some quality wine selections. Next came the bread and carrots and celery. The bread was some of the best I have ever had at a restaurant. Fresh, warm and slightly salted on top. I wish I could have taken a loaf home with us. For dinner, I had grilled salmon over sautéed fresh local seasonal veggies. I ate every bite and it was well portioned. I should have ordered a Grasshopper to finish it off but it was Sunday and we still had a drive to go back to Illinois. The décor is cozy and while the back porch is slanted, the river view makes for great bird watching and a peaceful setting for a delicious meal. We ate dinner fairly early and as we passed by the well stocked bar on the way out, locals were starting to fill the place on a hot Sunday night in August. So …just go, you won’t be disappointed!

Great service and food. All the amenities of an authentic supper club — mahogany bar, Friday fish fry, ice cream drinks, vegetable tray … They source locally, which lends a hand when creating great tasting food. the back room is a room with a view — the river rolls past as hummingbirds fly by.
