Very nice place. Waitress was very friendly and the sandwiches were really good. We will definitely go back. I want to try their Bloody Mary on Sunday fun day sometime.

Bartender didn’t know how to make a Manhattan, my burger was a little(lot) rare and all of our food came out room temperature. Except for my daughter’s pizza, which was excellent, but a little pricey. If the burger had been cooked to order and served hot…

DRIVEBYIT! I was in Fort Atkinson for a family event in early December — went to Capn’s Roadhouse with a group of about 17. I’m rating them a two because in spite of the bad service and bad overpriced food, they WERE very nice. They seated us quickly, but it sort of went downhill from there. We were in a side room with one other group. There was one waitress to manage the entire table. Drinks were served fairly quickly. The waitress was a PEACH! But the food(and this is a restaurant review!) was their downfall. My eating companion and I eyed an 18 ounce rib-eye steak that was on the menu for $ 29. Being a little suspicious I asked the waitress if this was a REAL rib-eye or one of those pounded flat«wanna be» steaks and she replied that it was a BIG steak. We took the bait, and low and behold got a pounded out steak on the plate(the ½″ thick ones). Potato’s were room temperature. One of us got«beer battered fries» — they maybe forgot to actually beer batter them? The only food highlight was the French Onion Soup — very tasty. Service for dinner was bad. Our steaks were first to the table. It was a Friday night and they had a fish-fry special. From the time our steaks arrived to the time that the two fish dishes arrived at the table was a whopping 15 minutes — we were told to go ahead and eat which is good as the food would have been ice cold by then. The family member across the table ordered two pork chops — NEVER have I seen worse — they were two ½″ dried out frisbee-like slabs of meat. Very few of the others had anything good to say about the food. This may be a perfectly fine place for a burger, but it’s not a steakhouse and I’d stay away from any higher end items as it’s just not their forte. More than anything else, we felt ripped off. $ 30 steaks should be awesome most anywhere you go.

The place looks like a fort from the outside but inside 1990’s pub. Bathrooms updated and very clean. we both used the facilities… The Ribeye Steak sandwich with Blue Cheese was outstanding! Seemed like a 7 – 8 cut, served to perfect temp! $ 15.99 with in-house made potato chips. No other sauce or seasoning required. Probably a top 3 for me. Excellent! My goto sammie is always a beef sandwich. When I come back I will ask for a few rings of raw onion to cut the richness. Hubs had the Brisket sandwich $ 12.99 and added a slice of Cheddar for $ 1. Had the Mozzarella stick appetizer, just average. We wanted soup but none was offered at lunch today. The«coating» of a wonton wrapper on each piece, which we like. 5 to an order. Only odd thing to me was the red sauce was ice cold. A very garlicy and heavy basil laden sauce, which probably intensifies when heated… Must have been the creative plan of the cook, just not my preference. They have various nightly specials and a few entrees offered. Casual food is the bigger portion of the menu. I’ll try the pizza sometime too. We will stop again soon when traveling out west on 94!

Very nice selection of WI craft beers on tap. We ordered burgers with the beer battered fries and thought both were very good. Staff was attentive and the place was very clean.

Great staff! Love the pizza, steaks, fish fry and the French Onion soup is a must! You can count on watching the game on their several big screen televisions.

This place is just fine. A party of 8 had a nice dinner and all seemed pleased. I ordered the blackened salmon with steamed broccoli and it came out exactly right. Pasta was deemed«ok» and the younger crew seemed satisfied with the fried whatever. One order of the prime rib was well received but nothing special. Nothing wrong with it either. Wine list was short and straightforward with some nice choices reasonably priced. Service was cheerful and sweet. The atmosphere is a bit cold, but did not bother anyone. They do what they do well. A good option in Fort for a family meal to satisfy everyone.

Saturday, 6pm for dinner. Modest«crowd». Full bar offering. Our«up» cocktails were made-to-spec and appreciated. Food portions are large(for senior eaters). The sliders(4) were hamburger bun size.(Saved 2 for later…) Prime rib, queen size(13 oz), garlic mashed ‘tates, green beans kept me within diabetic meal constraint. Wait staff a plus.

Awesome steak! The tenderloin was like butter. The steak rivals Ruth’s Chris it’s that good, but much more affordable. Don’t let the«ex-Ponderosa Steakhouse-look» and sports bar vibe deter you, the food is great! Our server was very friendly and attentive, the only bad thing I would say about the exerience is that it took a while for our food to arrive, but I blame that on the busy Saturday night business they were doing.

Came in late off the last leg of a business trip. I called in advance to make sure we were going to make it before the kitchen closed at 10pm. Upon arriving i noticed empty tables and a group of stragglers at the bar. Hungry & tired I ponied up to the bar and waited a good 10 minutes, almost pissed off, i noticed their clock hit 9:55. I checked my phone, thier clock was running 10 minutes fast. Finally the bartender came out and shot me a look and looked at the clock as if to say, «are you really here for dinner this late». I immediately shot her back a look that said, «Its 9:45, bitch, make me a sammich», and that she did. Mushroom & Swiss burger with fries. I ordered fried cheese curds but they didn’t arrive. I didn’t complain because the burger and fries were so good, so good in fact i was willing to forgive the«late night service syndrome». Perfectly cooked, juicy burger with piping hot hand cut fries. Definitely a great way to end the day after a long trip.

We knew going into our first visit to the new Capn’s that Randy Schopen would not disappoint us and we were right. The four of us had steaks and pork chops and all as excellent! I had an 8 oz. New York strip steak and it was a little thin for my liking, but what can you do with just 8 ounces. I ordered it with a garlic crust and mushrooms with a mashed potato side. I ate every speck of steak! It was very, very good. My wife had the New York Strip steak too and it was just as good without the additions. The rest of our party had pork chops and were also not disappointed! Deserts were great, the service was good and overall we were very pleased.
