After months of hearing about this place from friends and family I finally found the time to go on a late Saturday afternoon. I ordered the«Soup and Salad» with baked potato soup and Classic Chick sandwich. I received the chicken tortilla soup and a Sassy Scotty sandwich. The explanation of the different soup was«we had the potato but no one wanted it so today’s soup is the tortilla». That would have been nice to know when I asked at the ordering counter. The taste of the sandwich was dry and bland but then again, it’s not the one I wanted or ordered. Overall the experience was ehhh… pretty much average. I didn’t leave loving chicken salad anymore than before my visit.

Who knew that chicken salad could be so creative! You can get the classics or, if you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can try chicken salad with pineapples and macadamia nuts, or hickory smoked BBQ flavor, or buffalo wing flavor, or full of jalapeños. You can get a sandwich, a salad, or just a «scoop» or a couple of them. The bread varieties include: white, wheat, sourdough, hoagie, and a croissant. I ordered the“soup and sandwich” — a cup of the soup of the day and a half sandwich. I opted for the«Classic Carol» chicken salad, which is their signature recipe that«got it all started», as the menu suggests. The soup of the day was loaded baked potato. The chicken salad, surprisingly, was very underwhelming. It wasn’t bad but it tasted like any run-of-the-mill chicken salad. And, I thought that it needed some seasoning. I suppose I should’ve gotten one of the more unique flavors. The soup however, was outstanding! It was really the highlight of my meal. Well, that, and the croissant. I am assuming that the appeal of this place is that they offer so much variety. I look forward to trying it again and I’ll be more adventurous the next time around.

I’d seen reviews prior to coming for lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was clean colorful and I was greeted with smiles. I asked to sample a few salads and decided on the Olivia’s Old South on wheat bread with a fruit salad and lemon cookie. So delicious! I also had their pumpkin cheesecake. Yummy !. Everyone is so sweet and they come around just enough to see if I needed anything. I will definitely be back and with a friend for lunch.

This place is really good. people are nice, the place is very clean and service is very good. The chicken salad is out of this world. Not bad when you look at the menu and see 16 different styles of chicken salad. I tried the sassy scotty on sourdough bread. this is «a zesty blend of ranch bacon and shredded cheddar cheese». The combination worked really good. They have different styles from the classics to spicy(combination of cayenne or jalapenos) I had it with the broccoli slaw salad. I like brocolli and this hit the spot. Another thing about it the slaw was that it had bacon crumbled on it. It is a chain but a very good chain with a good concept. get over to try it… you really can’t go wrong with what they have there. I’ll be back. I took a menu and I’m going over what I want to try next time.

I first heard about Chicken Salad Chick a few months back when a co-worker mentioned they would be opening just about 10 minutes away from our office. I glanced at their menu online and was very intrigued by a restaurant that specializes in chicken salad(they do have other salads, sandwiches, and soups on their menu as well) so I made my way in today for their grand opening. There was a woman(whose name I really should have gotten) near the menus guiding people who gave me some info about the menu and was really friendly and helpful. I decided to go with the chick trio, which is 3 scoops of chicken salad(4 oz each, the woman near the menus informed me) served on a bed of lettuce with a pickle and crackers. I choose the dixie chick(«Our ‘most offensive salad’ definitely for the onion lover), kickin’ Kay Lynne(combination of buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, & jalapenos), and the sassy Scotty(zesty blend of ranch, bacon, & shredded cheddar cheese). The total for the meal(plus a drink) was just under $ 12 which is pretty typically for a good lunch in this area. While I was waiting, I got my fountain drink and looked around a little. The feel is very southern and made me think of an inside picnic, if that makes any sense. Lots of pale green, some flowers(but not in a gaudy way), cute tableclothes on the tables, and black and white pictures of Jacksonville gave it a really nice touch. My food came out pretty quickly but I snapped a few pictures while I waited. When I got back to the office, I dug in and really enjoyed all 3 types of chicken salad. The kickin’ Kay Lynne was by far my favorite. It wasn’t crazy spice but the spiciness built up really nicely as I ate it. The flavor was great and I would 100% order it again. The dixie chick is definitely advertised correctly, it has a ton of onion flavor. I love onions but compared to all of the flavors in the kickin’ Kay Lynne it was a little boring. I would highly recommend this if you like more«basic» tastes. The sassy Scotty was good but my least favorite of the three. I suspect that I might have liked it more if I hadn’t been trying the kickin’ Kay Lynee at the same time. The ingredients are similar and I’d recommend the Kay Lynee over the Scotty, unless you hate anything with any heat to it. My only negatives(and these are very minor things) was that my to-go box was handed to me with no bag, I had to ask for to-go silverware, and every cracker included was broken. I should have asked for a bag(as I saw another woman who ordered a bunch of food get hers in a bag) but I didn’t realize until I was trying to get into my car that holding a to-go container in one hand and a drink in the other was going to be a problem. Again, none of these are big deals(still a 5 star experience for me) but just some little things that happen when a place first opens, no sweat. Overall I found the food to be really tasty, the staff to be super friendly and helpful, and the place to be cute and inviting.

The food is great, but twice now I have placed a call ahead to-go order and BOTH times the food has not been ready when I arrived to pick it up. Keep in mind it was not lunch rush hour(3:30pm) and I was quoted a time frame of 10 minutes for the order to be ready, and I arrived 20 minutes later. This time, not even so much as an apology was offered. If you’re in a hurry, I would suggest stopping elsewhere.
