Worst Biriyani in US so far! Bad reputation for the real Pista House in India! Only the Haleem was good.

Ordered hydrebadi mutton dum briyani … It tasted really delicious, mutton was perfectly cooked with good aroma. They give you a gravy and raita on the side which makes it a complete entrée. They serve you the best hydrebadi sweets. All this for a reasonable price.

Tried again on Ramzan day and Biryani was bland beyond description. Haleem was still good. But one item being good on the menu is no bueno.

I am huge biryani lover and critic. This place has done injustice to biryani unlike its hyderabad branch. The rice says it all. We were served re heated biryani from today morning. They serve in steel bowls that is not so good looking. Dried re-heated biryani. Disappointed !! Know the family personally but the gotta check on the quality from time to time. Haleem is good. Really good !!

Was not a big fan of the food and I think 2 stars is being generous. I had the reshmi kabob and naan. The naan was probably the worst I have had. Will try this place again though as I have heard good things and update my review.

As a fellow Hyderabadi, I really wanted to like this place. Ordered haleem to go and was so disappointed at the quantity. Such a small portion for $ 9.99. Also, it’s not even mentioned on the menu because apparently it’s only available on the weekend. But why can’t you mention that on the menu and add it to the menu? The haleem was nothing like the haleem in Hyderabad. It looked like it was blended in a blender rather than being chunky. Very disappointed and will not go back to try any other dishes either. There are much better choices and options in DFW metroplex.

I really wanted to like it. It’s a new spot in my neighborhood and I love supporting small businesses. Plus I love Indian cuisine, so I decided to give it a shot. The place is bare. I didn’t smell food, which was weird since it’s such a small space. Anyway, I ordered tandoori chicken and chicken biryani to go. Ordered extra spicy. The chicken tandoori had a good presentation and it was decent, but something was missing. The rice was not good at all and lacking in flavor tremendously. I’ve had my share of biryani and this was about the worst I’ve had. So much was missing. On the other hand, the customer service was excellent and I truly wish this business well. I will go back to try the tandoori again. Irving has a large population of Indian people and there are several Indian restaurants throughout the city. You might have better luck at one of those. I particularly prefer Underground Indian Cuisine in Las Colinas

I was there on Valentine’s Day as my wife likes Haleem. So I wanted to surprise her. It was a terrible decision. First of all the place was very noisy and the AC was not running. Looks like they were trying to save on the electricity bill ! I ordered Haleem and Chicken biryani. It was the worst Haleem I ever ate. The Biryani was just rice mixed with spices and chicken. I’ve been to many restaurants in the Irving area. This was my first time here and I’m definitely not going back.

Note: My review is just for Haleem Pista house — This small restaurant from old city of Hyderabad had set benchmark for the taste and quality on global map for Hyderabadi haleem. I am glad they opened up their first outlet in Irving. Heleem, the wholesome stew made from goat meat mixed with wheat and lentils enjoys a cult following amongst Hyderabadi people worldwide. The very first bite of haleem here has taken me into the flashback of my childhood and teenage days of Hyderabad. They have maintained excellent consistency of meat, just the right amount of spices and ghee. Ambiance — Ambiance is almost non existant in this place, if someone is looking for a dine-in, not a great place to sit and eat. Price — It is a couple of dollars more compared to other desi restaurants in the area but the quality and taste of Haleem is worth every buck.

Good authentic hydrabadhi food. Haleem is the best and biryani is also excellent. Lot of other restaurants use artificial colors but these guys don’t. This is closest to real hydrabadhi biryani, with mild spices, strong aromas and excellent rice texture.

I had mutton and chicken biryani. They are not bad but I am not going back as there are better alternatives in the irving area. Haleem is the best for which they get the 2 star. Goat marg is average. Definitely overpriced, not going back. They got a C in health inspection ratings, google it yourself.

Called for To-Go order @ 11.45 am on Sunday morning for chicken biryani which they are advertising for world famous biryani. 1) box is half full 2) got white rice with 2 Broken chicken pieces 3) sauce with biryani is like dosa chutney with no spices and salt. 4) waist of money $ 12.99 5) our place biryani is standard and no disappointment.

Being a new place, the menu was limited but the chicken biryiani was really good and spicy. The quantity was good to feed 2 – 3 people easily. Will definitely go back and try other items.

First, I didnt try the food. I stood at the counter waiting for the person at register to acknowledge me and to ask what I would like. Instead, he went back and forth from the kitchen to the front, and then out a side door. Well, I went back out the front door and went to a neighbor restaurant. From what i saw, its a no frills place with very limited menu.

Pista House is a new Indo-Pak restaurant near the intersection of Royal and MacArthur, just on the side of Phở Château. The owner said the menu is still a work in progress and thus so far they have limited menu items. Being new, the place looks clean with tables on one side and counter stools seating on the other. It feels more of a to-go place rather than dine-in. I tried the Veg. Biryani. It was flavorful and optimally spiced. The food quantity was more than enough for one person. It came with a sauce-mix and raita. Raita was good but was somewhat spicy in contrary to its intended use. Overall, the Birayani was nice but you could get the comparable ones at much cheaper price. The veg. biryani was like 10 bucks, a little too much for anywhere in Irving.
