Tokyo Table is a Japanese fusion restaurant. I came here on a Friday night TGIF :) It’s located in the busy Diamond Jamboree shopping center, finding parking was not easy. COCKTAILS: We tried Lychee and Yuzu mojito. They were both sweet and fruity. TAKOYAKI: It was okay, the octopus was small. «NIKU» KALESALAD: It had: massaged kale, yakiniku short rib slice, mushroom, cherry tomato, sesame dressing, and crispy wonton. I loved it, and I thought it was the best dish of tonight! The yakiniku short rib slices were of high quality. The salad dressing made the kale and short rib slices good together. CARBONARAUDON: The carbonara sauce was creamy, and udon was chewy. Pretty flavorful and yummy. DELUXEASSORTEDNIGIRI: I would recommend against ordering their SUSHI!!! The rice part was molded by a machine, and the fish were not fresh and of low quality. Overall, the atmosphere was good for weekend nights. Parking can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time. Food was okay with affordable price.
Round 2 of drinks! Cheers to my birthday!!! Ending result!!! Great drinks and good vibes with my good friends. Thanks!!!

I’ve been here twice and have liked both experiences but it’s not the best sushi or service I’ve had. I ordered the OMG and the Monsoon. The OMG was definitely more flavorful and delicious to me. The Monsoon was was basically just spicy albacore. My husband ordered the curry ramen and really enjoyed it. He also ordered the Lobster Bomb and he was not impressed. The restaurant actually forgot to put the sauce on top of his roll and brought it to him later in a little cup when they realized. In his opinion, the jalapeño in the roll completely overpowered the lobster. It was basically one hit and one miss for the both of us. The service took a while. They were slow to bring out the food, slow to clear plates, and slow to refill drinks. My younger brother waited for his roll for a long time while almost every other member of our group got their first AND second rolls brought to them. We almost thought they forgot his order! But eventually his order came around. Rolls are pricey. We came during happy hour so it wasn’t too bad but still a hit to the wallet. Overall, this place was okay to me. Some hits, some misses.

My boyfriend and I really like coming here for their happy hour from 3−6pm. They have good deals on sushi rolls and drinks. It can get a little crowded in the bar area some days but other than that it’s awesome. The service is generally good. Plus you can’t really beat $ 3 Coronas for Happy Hour. Oh, and don’t forget to try the honey toast. Yummy!

As a disclaimer, I have only been to Tokyo Table during their happy hour. I have only had to wait maybe 10 to 15 minutes to get seated. The long waits are mostly after you’ve been seated. The servers always look incredibly busy and are very hard to get a hold of. The entire dining experience takes about 1.5 hours for 2 entrees and an appetizer(no drinks, no dessert) due to the excruciatingly slow service and inattentive staff. If you don’t like being bothered by servers and don’t care for long, drawn out dinners, Tokyo Table has plateable food and a nice ambiance.

This place was extremely underwhelming. Came here for a birthday lunch and was not impressed. The sushi quality and technique is that of a fast food level. probably on par with Kula, except pricier. I’ve definitely had better. Parking is in a lot and is hard to find on weekends. Deluxe Assorted Sashimi: This sushi platter comes with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, clam, uni, ikura, and shrimp with fried heads. Let me start off by saying I’m extremely critical when it comes to sushi. I thought that this $ 29 dollar platter was really inexpensive – only ordering it because of the good reviews I read. In hindsight, I should’ve expected subpar sushi for such a cheap price. The rice was too soft and kept falling apart when I tried lifting it towards my mouth. Definitely not pressed enough. The shrimp heads were extremely greasy, rather than crunchy. I literally had oil dripping down the side of my mouth after eating it. Service: Okay, let me start off by saying that the service here is exceptionally slow. I came on a Saturday afternoon and ¾ of the restaurant was empty. Service was still slow. Some customers who came in much later than my friend and I had food come out almost immediately after being placed. The servers are nice, but don’t seem to know what they’re doing and aren’t very professional. My friend and I saw a girl wearing shorts that were so short you could practically see everything. The servers here look to be(and act) like they might be high schoolers. Our sushi platter took 20 minutes, give or take, to arrive. It probably would have taken even longer had we not reminded the waitress to check on our food.

Lord are they slow… like incredibly freaking slow. Sushi is fine, a bit over priced if you don’t come during happy hour but it’s alright. It’s usually always a 20 – 30 minute wait to get a table and another 10 – 15 for the server to even go to your table with water. I’m writing this review as I sit here and wait for them to pick up the check and I see 2 servers just standing around. Cmon it’s literally been 10 minutes of our check waiting at the table for them to take. I spent more time here waiting than I did eating. Only reason this isn’t getting 1 stars is because the game is playing and the warriors are winning

I’m glad I came tonight. Looks like because the new menu and I do enjoy better than the old one. The pictures hope you see how the ingredients are laid out and also I love the means to come to life. The place is definitely packed but the service was still amazing. I really enjoyed all the dishes that I tried tonight. This place definitely gets five stars from me!

I like Tokyo Table a lot! Reasons why: –Great lunch selection. I think they recently rolled out their lunch specials over the weekend. I say recently, but it could have been years ago. You can get ramen, sushi, sashimi, teriyaki. Yum! –It’s also not too crowded. Been during the week and over the weekend. –Enough room for me to bring my little one in a stroller. Plus, they have a changing table in the restroom –Next to 85 Degree C. I can get my drink/baked goods cravings cured after lunch! –Next to H mart. Marke grocery shopping off the list of «To Do’s». –Service… I’ve never had an issue. Drinks always filled and Note: I asked the server about their Happy Hour and she said that they tend to get pretty busy on game days and during HH, so just FYI!

I went during their first happy hour(3−6pm) $ 3 off all regular priced sushi and a nice selection of drinks. Their second one starts at 10pm. There was only a handful of people when i went so i had really great service. For vegetarians, I’d recommend asking for the Veggie Miso ramen(substituted with udon noodles). My mom absolutely loved it! Bacon wrapped asparagus was amazing. I tried the sushi pizza this time just because I never had it haha. Both are good appetizers to share. Might need more than 1 plate of bacon wrapped asparagus tho ;) it comes with two skewers of 3. Will be back another time.

Delicious food and outstanding service! I’ve been here quite a few times and I am always surprised by their decent service– organized, fast, and friendly. Drinks are pretty good– saketini and mojitos are among a few of my favorites though the mojito has an overpowering taste of syrup(I did mix my drink). I always come here thinking that it’s mainly just a seafood/sushi restaurant and I forget– so much meat on the menu! You can’t go wrong with the skewers– they’re so juicy and tender(must try for sure). 6 tiny pieces for $ 3-$ 4 isn’t bad. Gyoza is good too and I also enjoy the teriyaki chicken plate. Prices here are a bit higher but it is quality food(not fast food) and you are paying for taste. Also, Japanese food always goes for higher prices in comparison to other ethnic foods. No complaints. Happy hour starts at 10! Don’t miss out!

Tokyo table changed menu!!! I know I had to come here again to check it out since they have a new menu with new items launched! My friend told me that their old menu was replace with a bunch of food and prices was increased just a bit. I walked in here on a Saturday around 5 and I was in time for HH! Happy me. Lucky me. Their happy hour menu changed a bit and my favorite– the bacon wrapped asparagus was still on :) however, they only give you 2 instead of 3 now… Lol the servers here are also quite chatty. I don’t know why there’s like 8 – 10 servers on the floor but 3 of them are always in the corner of the front desk chatting with the hostess and laughing away… I had to flag down a couple times to get their attention for some napkins and I also witness other tables getting frustrated cause they have already asked twice for some Soy sauce. Overall, Service is OK but can be better and food is mediocre… Come here for happy hour. +check out their HH!(Everyday 3PM-6PM, 10PM-closing)

**Quick note, menu has been updated/changed** Always a fan. The service is nice and attentive. Sometimes you’ll have to flag em down, but their busy! Menu has a lot of variety, but overall isn’t very impressive. Definitely more fusion than traditional, however, TT has good number of Japanese favorites that people really do enjoy. Some including: — House made soft tofu! Sometimes they run out, so just FYI. — Gyoza; comes on its one flat iron griddle so it’s super crispy. Just how I like it! — Beef wrapped green onions. Nicely marinated and perfectly grilled. Can be a little oily, but worth it. — Drink selection/happy hour. Probably one of my favorite late night/casual happy hours. Good selection of drinks and foods. Bar is self-seating. Great for groups but would definitely recommend making a reservation. If it’s a small party, 2 – 4 people, expect a wait during peak hours if you can’t beat the crowd.

I love Tokyo Table!!! WHAT’S SOGOODABOUTTHISPLACE: the food, the ambiance, the service, and THEHAPPYHOURDEAL!!! The ambiance is nice in this restaurant. it’s perfect for groups and casual dates too. The service was great, and the food came out in a timely manner. The food: 1. sushi pizza — very unique! I love its presentation as well. it tasted like sushi on a pizza — so good! 2. edamame — so good too! its not like those regular edamame you get in jap restaurants. this one has sauce and some garlic as well. it’s very tasty and delicious! 3. salmon carpaccio — my cousin’s favorite. If you like salmon sashimi, get this. 4. bacon wrapped asparagus — I was not really wow’ed with this skewer. 5. beef wrapped green onion — I like this type of skewer better than bacon wrapped asparagus. love how they marinade the beef. one of my favorite dishes. 6. wasabi anoli chicken wings — very tasty and delicious. another favorite dish of mine. 7. honey toast — can i say HALLELUJAH ??? This is the best dish I ever have on that night. I drool whenever i see my picture of this honey toast. Tip: Happy hour is everyday from 3pm to 6pm and 10pm to close. Friday-Sunday has better happy hour deal cuz all sushi rolls are 50% off. REMEMBERTOTRYHONEYTOAST!!! still drooling…

Despite coming the the Diamond Jamboree Plaza pretty often, I’d only ever been to Tokyo Table once or twice before. One of those times happened to be my one month anniversary with my person, and for nostalgic reasons, we decided to come back to celebrate our two year anniversary! We started with a strawberry lemonade(refillable) and a lychee ginger mule, which was absolutely delicious! I’m not even a huge fan of alcohol and I found the cocktail to be very tasty! For an appetizer we had the Yukari French fries, which we fought each other for down to the very last fry! For our main entrees, we ordered the sushi pizza and the garlic shrimp rice. Both were fantastic! The garlic shrimp rice came in a sizzling stone bowl, with all the ingredients in it, and our server tossed the rice and shrimp combo right in front of us! The rice continues top to cook and I like how it gets crispy at the bottom! The sushi pizza was unique, and although it was simple, I absolutely loved it! It was a thin layer of sushi seaweed, rice, artificial crab meat, and jalapenos on top, and what I think was a little bit of cheese. I loved it, what a creative concept! We didn’t have room for dessert this time, but in the past we had the brick toast and it’s amazing and I’d recommend anyone to get it! All in all it was a nice romantic stop to eat at, and I look loved how attentive and nice all the servers were. It is still on the expensive side, but it was reasonable, and I’ll be back for other special occasions!

I love this place! In fact, Tokyo Table is the ONLY reason I come to Diamond Jamboree. It’s my favorite sushi place for late night happy hour. During Happy Hour, all sushi rolls are 50% off(~$ 3 each) and there are more rolls than if you go to Kula across the plaza or any sushi place with a revolving bar. I come here practically every Sunday night with my friends. In addition to the pitcher of mojitos, we always order the Shrimp Summer Roll, the Red Velvet Roll, the OMG Roll and the Dynamite Scallop Roll(MYFAVORITE). And of course, the Filthy Fries. Once, we ordered the Half Honey Toast and it was huge. Everything we ordered had enough for a party of 5 to share. Never any complaints about the food. Tokyo Table’s service is also really good to. The servers occasionally came around to refill our waters, ask her if we wanted to order more rolls, and came around to take away empty plates. Atmosphere was great and it’s a good place to come with friends. However, come early to put your name down. Sometimes, the line can be long(45 mins max), especially for Happy Hour.

One of my fave sushi joints in Irvine. And I believe Irvine was known locally for its great sushi, at least according to my college buddies. I ordered the dynamite roll with scallop. Cooked rolls always have the tastiest creamiest sauce. The dynamite sauce that came with the scallops on top was no exception. I know most authentic sushi connoisseurs will frown upon my indulgence for cooked sushi over raw sashimi, but I can’t help it if it’s delicious. The sauce might be a bit too much for others who prefer a more mild taste. I also ordered the bacon-wrapped asparagus on skewers. This seems like something you would find at a barbecue and the dish does have those same bold flavors. Tokyo Table always provides patrons with complimentary miso soup and edamame as appetizers.

The last time we ate at Tokyo Table was when they had one of their restaurant in Beverly Hills until they closed it down. Back then I remembered being pretty good. So, since we were in the area we decided to give it a go. The food was not what I expected it to be. Totally disappointed. Expecially the Star Sashimi Platter. The sashimi were tuna, yellowtail, salmon, scallops, sweet shrimp, and uni. Let’s start of by saying that the fish weren’t all fresh. The sweet shrimp had a mushy texture. The uni was one of the worst I had in years and all the cuts of the fish was messy. Poor knife skills. Chicken Karrage was also a total fail. Over cook and dry. Ika Maruyaki was the only positive dish. Ika was cook perfectly. It was very tender. Sorry Tokyo Table. I don’t like giving bad reviews, but the food we received that night wasn’t up to par. Expecially the sashimi.

This is a cool modern/fusion Japanese restaurant. I am Japanese, and don’t always love Asian fusion places but this is one of my favorites. I pretty much always get the shrimp and rice bowl. It’s in a hot stone bowl that comes out sizzling. You can make the rice as Krispy as you’d like by allowing it to cook in the bowl. The shrimp is always good and they give you a good amount. The garlic flavor is perfect and there is just the right amount of some sort of salt flavor. The mochi cheese plate is an experience. It comes out blazing on fire which makes a good show? It is as good/weird as it sounds. Chewy mochi goodness with Melty cheese. It is good to try and share with people. I always end the night with honey brick toast. I like that they give you more ice cream than some other places that have brick toast. I’m a big ramen person and their ramen is ok. But it is nice to have on the menu if you are craving ramen. They also have some good cocktails with an Asian twist. They have Asian flavors like lychee. Overall the menu offers a good variety of food.
