Usually it is a great recycling place and I would give them 5 stars but recently it became not that good as it use to be.
Most of the recycling specialists are pretty friendly, working fast, efficient and helpful. But I want to share what you should be aware of in this place.
First thing — there are not recycling machines any more which were pretty convenient.
Second thing you should be aware of is so call 10% weight adjustment fee they are putting at your receipt, so one from every ten bottle you bringing here (in case if they taking them by weight which is a majority) — you are given away for FREE, it is not a very big deal but even in that place it is a inconsistent practice, so some time you will see this fee some time not, even though you bring a clean, without excess of liquid bottles and cans and there are no rain outside. Customer service person will not tell you in advance that there is a 10% off — it a «surprise» if you will check your receipt later.
One time I’ve got the coupon for aluminum cans printed from rePlanet website which was saying that you can use one coupon per visit. At that visit I had plenty of cans, so they did not fit in one barrel and I had one full and one with a little bit but the person who take those cans claimed that he can only apply this coupon for one barrel (weight) and guess which one he put the coupon price? The one with smaller amount of cans. On top of that he decide to apply the 10% weight adjustment as well. In addition, I did not have a clue what he put on my receipt and If you would not be careful and read the receipt you would not even know — other recycling places will not do it — OC recycling for example — if you have a coupon it will cover all you stuff not a single barrel and there are not a 10% off as well.
I guess they just look at you and if you have a lot of recycling than most likely you will not complain since the only wish you have — to rid of the bottles and cans you are bringing.
But if you have a small load and they count it — no problem everything will be correct.
Good location, however applying this 10% off should be clearly stated BEFORE you will get you receipt and only in case if you are bringing dirty/​wet with excess of remain liquids inside bottles and cans. I hope this was just single incident and will improve in the future.

This recycling center is located next to Albertsons near UCI. Perfect for anyone staying on campus or near campus. If you park in the Albertson’s parking lot, go all the way to the left of the store and head to the back (if you have a lot of crap). There are also individual recycling machines if you just have a few items. You can also park directly next to the center, but these spaces are limited and highly coveted. You may have to wait for sticky barrels because they don’t have an abundance, but for us the wait wasn’t long. Separate your plastics, aluminums, and glass. TAKE THE CAPS OFF PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES! This will save you time. The employee didn’t say anything, but at least he smiled. After you get your receipt, take it to Albertson’s and go to a cashier to get the cash. Congratulations. You’ve done your good deed for the day.

After collecting bottles and bottles of plastic from my roommates, I wanted to make our utilities bill a bit cheaper, so fortunately I found this place. Unlike the other shops, there machines are randomly out of order. Nothing beats regular human beings to keep you in the loop.
Ambiance:
* Parking | There is direct parking in the back but if not you can park at the Albertsons Plaza and bring a cart to help you transport your bags.
* Feels | The place is fairly safe. Yes it’s behind the stores but in Irvine it is a fairly safe area plus they’re open during day time.
Customer Service:
* Our server was friendly and quick. Couldn’t ask for more.
Overall:
* 5 stars. This place ain’t cutting edge or inspirational for you to recycle more and tell others but it simply gets the job done.
Advice:
Come early in the morning to beat the line.
For a faster flow, separate your plastics, cans, and glasses. With the lids off.
