I didn’t actually stay, but went down with my visiting cousin that did spend the night. She wanted to treat herself to a special, relaxing last night, after a family get together. I have a small one bedroom home, not far from Index, so that was a good choice for her to get a good nights rest. To start, Index is a beautiful little tiny town. The B&B, is absolutely gorgeous! I would have stayed, if there was more than one bed, but did take the tour of the house and enjoyed the owners hospitality. The upstairs, is where you’d stay, so lots of privacy. There’s a bathroom, bedroom and a sitting room, with a nice large screen TV with HBO, etc., also WiFi. My cousin said the bed was so comfortable, that she wants to buy the same one for her home. The décor, garden, outdoor shower, couldn’t be nicer. I loved the homes décor, that made me feel like I had just stepped back in time to a wealthy great grandma’s house. I now think, that for my future travels, I’ll be looking for a B&B to stay at, rather than a hotel, or motel. I’d be lucky, to find one as nice as «A Stone’s Throw B&B».

I had a great time a A Stone’s Throw! I have to say, I was a little skeptical. Index is a beautiful little town(and I mean little — 105 people). A Stone’s Throw was a lovely B&B. Lynn and David couldn’t have been more hospitable or welcoming. Guests have access to the entire second floor of the home — a queen size bed in the bedroom, a sitting room, and claw-foot tub for a relaxing bath and a great outdoor shower, and who doesn’t love that? Lynn cooks a great breakfast and makes sure your coffee mugs are always full. We had banana walnut waffles(delicious). Guests are also offered a glass of wine and some snacks before bed. It’s just an all-around comforting and welcoming atmosphere. David is more that happy to let you know where the closets hikes are, and he’s super funny! And then there’s Charlie(you have to like dogs) who thinks he’s much bigger than he his — he’s teeny. I can’t lie, there is a train that goes by pretty much on the hour, but… CLOSEYOURWINDOW! Could not have asked for a better night.
