I had my helix pierced 2 years ago but it never healed, I let it close up. I really wanted this piercing again though so I wandered into Station One after reading the word«hygienic» many times in their Unilocal reviews. Hygiene is always first. The place itself is typical tattoo place – Metallica was blaring when I entered, there is a skeleton on a table. Firefighter helmets are mounted on the wall. 2 men were in the back being tattooed so the place had life. Jonna helped me out, explaining that at Station one they start you with a hoop because it’s easier to keep it clean. At the previous place, I had been told the opposite – that a stud was better at first. Anyway, she put numbing gel on the area and was fast – a bad pinch but otherwise good. I love the hoop. She told me to put dial soap on the area twice a day and rinse – also different than the previous place which insisted on 10 – 15 minute sea salt baths in alternating hot and cold water. I guess we’ll see in the few weeks, but I love the piercing and Jonna was very nice and calming. The price was $ 25, a 1⁄3rd of what it was in overpriced Brooklyn.

I forget her name but I’m pretty sure it was Jonna who assisted me. Olderish woman with brown hair, VERY sweet, she felt like another mother to me. I came to her after getting my second lobe holes pierced at a different tattoo/piercing shop. My piercing after MONTHS still hadn’t healed and I didn’t know why. At first I was nervous going into the shop but once she sat me down I felt so at ease talking to her. She was able to address all my questions and concerns and gave me some amazing advice. My piercing is on its way to being fully healed and I’m very happy. With all their help they didn’t even charge me anything! I’ll definitely be recommending this shop to anyone who wants to get something done and if I ever want any other piercings done, I know where I’ll be going! Thanks again!

I have been tatted by Jordan twice here and thrilled with both pieces. I am going back for a third in a week. The first was a full color running sonic the hedgehog and the second was a half black and grey and half color ninja leprechaun vampiric pinup girl. Both turned out great and I have been getting lots of compliments. I was impressed that he was able to grasp my unusual pinup idea and deliver better than I was envisioning. Composition, line work, color, and placement; he slayed my idea! The shop is fun and laid back and has a great set up for watching movies as well. Fun spot. 5⁄5IMHO. Jordan FTW!

Got my first tattoo here with Jordan and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. It was kind of an impulsive decision on my part, and I was somewhat nervous and anxious, but Jordan was extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful right from when I walked in. He drew up a sketch which was cool as hell and very creative, giving life and artistic expression to the simple symbol I wanted. He talked me through everything that he was doing, was extremely sanitary, and an all-around good dude. They also sell an organic tattoo aftercare product that was awesome. I’m glad that I got to be a part of Jordan’s artistic evolution, and couldn’t be more pleased with my first tat. Highly recommended!

I was at Station One Tattoo last night to get my septum pierced. When I walked in, Jonna was there to greet me and was immediately available to answer any questions I had. She has had her piercing license for about 5 years and was very informative. She told me exactly what tools are used in the process and what the piercing experience would be like. However, she was not the one who did the piercing.(Chuck, the owner and tattooist of the shop, pierced my septum. Among being an owner and tattooist, he too is a licensed piercer.) There are two things I immediately notice about Station One that is extremely important when choosing a tattoo or piercing shop: For one, the atmosphere is comfortable. All the artists in the shop are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable and have an imminent passion for what they do. You feel it and see it when you first step in. To me, there is nothing worse then walking into a tattoo shop with artists who are condescending and can’t get over themselves. It is so disconcerting and unappealing for any tattoo business… and sadly, it happens more often than not. Thus, the overall attitude at Station One is what I consider a rare gem in the tattoo world. The artists there care a whole lot more about you(not themselves), your hygiene(especially!!!), and the health and longevity of your tattoo or piercing; The other thing I noticed and inevitably experienced, was the quality of supplies used(cant stress that enough and how extremely, extremely hygienic this shop is. There was not one instance where I had second-thoughts on cleanliness. Anyways, back to the piercing. I’ve had my nostril pierced twice, my tongue pierced, an industrial piercing, and two holes in my earlobe. Out of all five, the septum was the cleanest(and I don’t only mean hygienic but also the most precise) piercing I’ve ever had. They use numbing cream at Station One, so I felt no pain as it happened and hours afterwards(which was pretty convenient.) I’ve never used the numbing cream with any piercings prior, but I think it really helps the piercer get the most precise pierce possible because I have felt zero pain at all before and after. Yes, of course, it is sore(I mean let’s be realistic) but being sore and feeling pain are two different animals. I was pierced at 9pm last night, and today at 5:30 I still feel the same. I thought I was going to wake up SO sore! I’ve always been nervous about getting my septum done, but this was the most pleasant experience I’ve EVER had getting pierced and I don’t know that it will be topped! Chuck is a wonderful man, an marvelous shop owner, and a skilled artist accompanied by a proficient and knowledgable staff. I highly recommend Station One tattoo for piercings.

i started going to Station 1 because i have previously been tattooed by Mike at another shop in the past. Everyone here is so incredibly nice, i couldnt feel more comfortable walking in the door. Any time i get the itch for something new, i know exactly where to go. Mike is a very talented artist, he has done a number of my tattoos and counting. he always makes me feel confident with my ideas, and does a great job at making me feel like im making the right decision. Never would he talk me into getting something that i dont want, and if he thinks that something wont work or it would look better another way, he tells me. That is greatly appreciated because i wouldnt want someone to tattoo me with no interest in me, or my tattoo. i would hope that an artist would give me their advice/opinion before just tattooing me, and taking my money. he always tries to work with me if i have a budget, and makes the process enjoyable just making sure that i am comfortable. i know that i will be going back to Station 1. I know that i will always leave there with a beautiful work of art. I highly recommend. I dont see myself going anywhere else!

I’ve been tattooed at several different shops in NY looking for patience, quality, creativity, cleanliness and a strong professional environment. Station 1 met all these demands and more! It’s a great family owned business where each artist does their best to make every customer happy and comfortable. I’ve been tattooed 4 times there by my artist Mike. He’s very outgoing when it comes to catering to his customers. He comes up with new creative ideas for every tattoo, and most importantly, he listens! I’m definitely proud of all the work I’ve gotten done here and I’d highly recommend it to anyone! I can’t wait to get more!

The guys here are always friendly but why must you open at such an odd hour? Also, a few times I have come in seeking advice for my piercings and nobody has been available to help. The tattoo artists aren’t knowledgable with picking out earrings so it’s frustrating when I do find time in my schedule to come in and I’m not able to get help. Though, the one time I did buy an earring here the guys were EXTREMELY hygienic, clean and made sure everything they used was sterile. Loved that about this place therefore if you’re looking for a clean sanitary place to get inked or piercing I recommend these guys.
