So gooooooood! I had a great time with the other Unilocal gold’s at this event. The food was fantastic!!! so were the wine pairings. oh man, and cupcakes… mmmmmm. We really were treated like gold. My favorite food was the flatbread with the figs and bacon… oh man. that was just melt in your mouth perfect. I love figs, but when you cook them and put them on snazzy pizza like appetizers…*drool* It was amazing. Also loved the red velvet cupcakes. I was«saving» it for later, but that pretty much ended the second i got home. So rich and chocolately, and the frosting wasnt overwhelingly sweet. It was moist and perfect. just a great cupcake. The restaurant itself was beautiful, they managed to keep it feeling intimate even with such a large group of us. I liked how they had the separate room so we were a bit secluded — it would be perfect for a large group or a birthday party. Service was also phenomenal and our servers we friendly and attentive. Awesome event overall, I definitely want to go back and tell other people to come with me.

What an amazing event. I will absolutely second Traci’s sentiments that it is indeed good to be gold because this event was one of the swankiest events to date. Filled with great wines and delicious food pairings, I feel blessed to be a part of the Gold Elite community. As per the usual, I’m pretty late in writing this review so I won’t go into too much detail about the food as it’s probably been covered but here are a few things that really stood out to me. SeaLegs and the proprietor, Alicia W. — this was just an great venue and the proprietor, Alicia W. was so great. Not only did she set up a private area for us Unilocalers but she was so hospitable to all of us. Checking on us throughout the night, she made us feel so welcome. Fig & Pig flat bread — this was sooo good. The flavors of the pig and the bleu cheese and the sweet figs were on point! I want one now. Stinky fries — wow this was rich and so decadent. It was like a über version of cheese fries. Drool… Thank you, Ryan C. for yet another amazing event, this one was truly golden.

This is my first gold Elitest event, and I gotta say, membership has its privileges! Great venue host and staff, intimate setting, what more can you ask for? The food was incredible and thoughtfully prepared. The bruscetta was unique but excellent. Melted cheese? Yes, please! The sliders? Order the pulled pork. The slaw made that dish nicely balanced. The carrot mini cupcake with buttercream and homemade caramel was a little piece of Disneyland. Ryan did a wonderful job putting this together. I hope I’m invited back to the next one! Whiskey, anyone…?

This was my first in many ways… its always nice when its your first time, Oh the memories you make! It was my first Gold Elite Unilocal event, my first time at Sealegs and my first time to meet the charismatic Ryan C! Sealegs is a place that the hubby and I have been watching out for every since we were condo hunting in that area. We didn’t buy the condo there(too small) but we have been wanting to check this place out and what a great opportunity to do so… FREE! We got to meet the owner and the chef who’s passion is well presented when talking of the different courses we would experience that day. The room was aromatic and cozy. The wines were top notch! I don’t drink red wine however the reds they served pleased even my palate! And the food… hmmmm mmmm mmmm! The cheese plate was really good but the winner on this night had to be the bruschetta! HOLYCOW this place knows how to do bruschetta! Some of the best I have EVER tasted. I only got to taste the Blue cheese slider — which was a shame since everyone said that the sausage was the winner here. I will have to try that next time we go. I have to give a shout out to the pig n figs which I could have eaten a couple plates full and been a happy camper but the topper on this evening was the tiny cupcakes served at the last course, Carrot cupcakes were yummy but the delicious surprise was the caramel topping with sea salt! Bazinga! I wanted to go around and lick the frosting off of all the cupcakes… it was THAT good! The caramel with sea salt was a definite palate pleaser — and they served it along with a sparkling champagne over ice and mint leaf. I was so stuffed when I left, but OHSOHAPPY!!! Thanks to the owners and team for a wonderful evening and to Ryan and team for a great time had by all! I cannot wait to go back to sealegs! Just a quick note: parking lot gets very full since adding all the new businesses here so go early and mark your spot. ;)

It is fitting that my 400th review be for my very first Gold event. Ryan C. and the staff at SeaLegs bar pampered us all night and indeed treated us like Gold. Each course was served with a different wine and best of all, thanks to the intimate setting, each was announced and described perfectly. Ryan C. made being a CM look easy as he greeted everyone and expertly handled every detail of the event. The seven courses, which included Charcuterie, 2 different flatbreads, bruschetta, assorted sliders, «stinky fries» and carrot cupcakes were all so delicious. My favorites were the Bruschetta and the Pig & Fig Flatbread. The carrot cupcakes were divine and served with Champagne. As we departed SeaLegs, we were welcomed to take a Unilocal Gold Cupcake, which was red velvet with a white chocolate Unilocal burst on top and sprinkled with gold stars. The night could not be more perfect. Thank you so much Ryan C. and SeaLegs for a wonderful night.

After 3 years of being Gold Elite, I went(FINALLY got into one) to my first ever event and let’s just says it’s nice to be Gold. It was a rather intimate gathering with about 40ish ppl and for some reason whenever I go to events, I always make friends with couples probably because they always happen to coolest, that’s probably why their significant others are with them, though everyone was without their +1. I got to sit with two wonderful fellow gold elites(one of them a fanatical Trojan but we’ll forgive her) and had a good time talking about what else? FOOD and favorites places of ours. I had no idea we would getting all this free food, at first I thought it was just wine and small bites. So procrastinator me finally used her Google Offers deal at Lime Truck beforehand and got a Carnitas Fries. Since in my mind, weak sauce Jen wanted to sample some wine but for her to even hang she needs to eat something beforehand to even handle sips(that’s right) of wine. I liked the first wine which was the La Yunta Torrontes, La Rioja Argentina and the champagne was pretty good too but sadly champagne gives me headaches and just had a few sips and dealt with repercussions later that night(it was worth it). When I got there I thought we were going to have to choose from the preset options but we didn’t have to choose, well except for the sliders but if you were strategic like my group was, you did some bartering. I would be shocked if you weren’t stuff after all the food we got, which were all tasty. Service was great. It’s really cute space, they completely remodeled that area, and it has been actually over a year ago I was actually in the area having tacos. Happy there are places like this in OC, keep building more cute places like this. I would suggest this place to friends and its cute spot to have a get together with the girls or friends. Service was great. And whenever you get something complimentary and get good service, be classy and thankful and don’t forget to tip your servers, which I did. Thanks Ryan! We love our OC Ambassador. :) And thanks Sea Legs for hosting. And perhaps one day I’ll get that Unilocal elite Tshirt. A gal can dream.

Gold Baby! 24 Karat(not«carat») Gold! Not«gold plated»…not«gold embossed»…not even«gold sandwiched»…Solid Gold… that’s what this Red, White and Gold Event was all about! Ryan C and the wonderful folks at SeaLegs put a great event together this past Tuesday evening. The Unilocal Gold Elite squadron took over the party room at SeaLegs for a sumptuous evening of charcuterie, flatbreads, bruschetta and desserts… all paired with the chef’s own wine selections! Golden! And while I didn’t drink, I ate, baby… and it was good! I hear the wines were both excellent and very well paired with the various courses! But, sadly, I don’t really drink the fruit of the vine any more… oh well. Although I’m not an oenophile(another word for those of you who like to contribute to Unilocal Talk«Things that sound dirty, but aren’t» threads), I still like to hang out with wine drinkers… and whiskey drinkers… and vodka drinkers… hell, pretty much any drinker. They’re fun! And SeaLegs is a fine place to hang out and enjoy the ambiance and the food and service and the company. Speaking of company, thanks again to Ryan C and Alicia C of SeaLegs for putting this all together! It has been a while since I made to an event and this one made it a great night to renew acquaintances, meet friends that I had only talked to through Unilocal… and meet new, new friends! Great company makes great events! Oh, and the Unilocal Gold Elite dealio… I highly recommend it!

The Good: It’s good to be a Unilocaler. Wait, It’s good to be Elite. It’s better to be Gold. It’s good to be King? Okay, that last one might be a bit cheesy, but you get the picture. Lazy guy, check out pic 80 for for menu deets. Here are the highlights from the evening. Great location and the atmosphere is dark and romantic. I can see how it would make for a quiet date night. Staff was amazing, friendly and quick. We pretty much got a 7 course tasting and if you knew people you got to try more: P May favorites from the night were the Pig & Fig Flatbread, housemade Sausage Sliders, and the Stinky Fries(from the cheese people). Worth a trip for a nice night on the town while staying close to HB. I even got a breakfast cupcake, don’t judge. The Bad: I felt bad for making my CM Ryan clean my table… you’re right, I don’t feel that bad. Hey Ryan you missed a spot! The Ben: BIg Thanks to Ryan, Unilocal,Pinky’s, and of course SeaLegs Wine Bar. I think Ryan might be getting the hang of this CM job. I pre-gamed and ate before, big mistake. Most of his food events have plenty of food for even the fattest… er most Elite Unilocaler: D I think this was my third Gold event… and it’s truly an honor to be a part of them.

First GOLD event and it was awesome! Right after work, what better way is there to unwind by wining and dining? There were probably 40 people in attendance in a small sectioned off portion of the restaurant. Soon after, Alicia(who coordinated this event with Ryan) took us through a gastronomical journey of their restaurant. She was a great representation of what the restaurant has to offer, not only in terms of food, but also service. I am sold on coming back! What is awesome is that they had wine pairings throughout the meal. Not being that knowledgeable of wine, it was definitely a good learning opportunity. — Charcuterie plate — Bruschetta — Flatbread(preferred the pig and fig because of the bleu cheese flavor, though the shrimp and chorizo was just as good) — Sliders(only got to try the pulled pork which was good, though I was hoping to try their other offerings: pork and blue cheese sliders; incentive to come back soon) — Stinky fries(I think I missed the part on where these stink? In any case, they were easy to devour– loved the fondue sauce on top and the fries were cooked nicely… could definitely get rich but it is meant to be shared — Carrot cake cupcake(my goodness, this was good and I am not a sweets person; loved the cream cheese frosting) Needless to say, this event definitely spoiled us! I am glad I found a nice group of friendly(and not so friendly… man, it’s a good time when you can bust inside jokes) to sit with and converse throughout the night. Thank you to everyone who made this event a fantastic one!

Free Food, Free Wine, and SWAG. The staff of SeaLegs were awesome and didn’t mind when i accidentally dumped my glass of champagne all over the floor at the end of the night. It was my first Gold Elite event and very interesting going solo, but met some very cool people and can’t wait for the next one.

thank you ryan and sealegs for such an awesome yet intimate initiation for the Unilocal elite gold members :) what a great way to celebrate and ring in a new year of Unilocal! i arrived promptly to the event and was a little intimidated by the fact that other gold members seem to already know other gold members, so i sat there until i met hannah, steph, michael, chris, donna, and meg and the fun/never-ending conversations paired perfectly over the amazing food and beverages sealegs had to offer. food highlights: bruschetta, shrimp & chorizo flatbreads, sausage sliders, and definitely the stinky fries! beverage highlights: champagne served over ice as well as the jack hammer pinot noir everything was served tapas style and we got the chance to try a little bit of everything. i was definitely stuffed by the end of second pairing but i still managed to stuff a sausage slider and stinky fries down my throat and it was the best decision ever made. those little sliders were perfect. it really takes culinary talent to make sliders memorable as they’re seen everywhere, but sliders with sausage? that’s a first :) truffle fries are also a repeated theme for a lot of restaurants but sealegs made those suckers cheesy truffle fries and oh are they delicious! the semi-private room we were in would be perfect for a day time bridal shower, baby shower, girls get together, or a fancy girls night out. love the maritime yet elegant décor of the wine bar. will definitely keep in mind for all future social gatherings :)

thanks ryan c. for a great night! i loved that we got a Unilocal menu for the tasting. you can’t remember everything. even with the tasting menu, we had to ask for clarification of the food. SeaLegs staff took care of us well. loved the room we were in separated from the rest of the restaurant by sheer curtains. guess the only con i could see for this event is that i didn’t get to talk to more people. the way we were seated, you only get to talk to the people in your area. but at least the Unilocalers i was sitting next to were cool! =) it was funny when i got up to grab the ’13 elite Unilocal sign near the end of the night for a photo. everyone stopped to look. LOL…

It is good to be gold! Thanks Ryan C and the rest of the Unilocal crew for a great Gold Elite Event! We were treated to a very tasty four course tasting menu with wine pairings thanks to Sealegs! The pig and fig flatbread was one of my favorite food items we tried. The Jack Hammer Pino Noir was one of the wines I really enjoyed and now want to buy a case of two of it! For dessert we had these über delicious carrot cake bites. It was great mingling with Katie B, Pete S, Jerome W, Alex K, Alex P and others! I don’t know why it took me going to a Unilocal event to check out Sealegs but I know I will be back!

Ok, now I know I always say every Unilocal Elite event is a 5 star and amazing event, however i REALLY mean it this time. Reasons why this one ROCKED: Since turning GOLD Elite(FINALLY) this year, this is my first ever Gold event! And I was so stoked that it was so much more intimate and chillaxed than other Elite events. I had a great time with this event, and it’s 90% due to the people. As I always say, it’s not what you do or where you go, it’s who you’re with, and I feel so blessed to have been in the presence of Gold Elite sophomores. :) Special thanks to Ryan the awesomest CM ever, and the staff at SeaLegs for allowing us to experience the amazing wine and food(stinky fries anyone? to die for, right?).

It’s good to be gold and it’s good to feel appreciated for 5 years of hard work(not really) and eliteness. It’s also good to be fed. I’ve noticed that Ryan does a great job of feeding us. SeaLegs was a swanky venue for a gold elite badge event. We got to take photos with a gold badge and sit in a private intimate setting with other gold badge elites and enjoy a private evening with food and wine pairings. The evening began with a charcuterie plate and some of the best brushetta I’ve ever had. This was very flavorful and indulgent. Of course, it also messed up my outfit and got all over me but oh well. That’s a sign of a good meal, right? Thankfully I was wearing black and red. Everything just blended right in. Next up, we were treated to two flatbreads — chorizo and shrimp(my favorite) and a Fig and Pig(interesting but a little too sweet for me). The food was evenly spaced out and towards the end of the night we were treated with 3 different sliders and their signature stinky fries. I really wish we could have tried all three of these but unfortunately, we only got the pulled pork and sausage sliders. I was trying to find a bleu cheese slider I could try from someone else but they went quickly. However I did devour a plate of stinky fries. Those were awesome. Cheese and fries are my comfort foods. The night ended with a carrot cake cupcake and some champagne on ice with a mint leaf. Very fancy but my favorite wine was the Jack Hammer and the Malbec. Me thinks I’m starting to like and appreciate red wine a bit more. We left the event with a SeaLegs bottle opener and a gold coated red velvet Unilocal cupcake. Yay! Such a fun event with my favorite Unilocalers. Thank you Ryan!

Gold?! woohoo! Thanks Ryan C. for putting a great event together. An awesome night. I think we Goldies felt special! Thanks to Sealegs Wine Bar for treating us to a 4 course tasting menu with wine(and Champagne !!) pairings. Sealegs has their main dining /bar area but we were put into this little nook off to the side in the front of their restaurant. It’s a great place to have little parties and gatherings where you can pass some trays around and enjoy your company. The carrot cake was probably the best thing of the night. They came out in little petite cupcake form with cream cheese frosting and they were SUPER moist and very tasty. The other takeaways, the Angus beef sliders with blue cheese and onion strings was quite yummy as well as their Stinky fries. Yum.

I haven’t been to an official Unilocal event in a long time but since my wife and I have brand new shiny gold badges we figured a gold event would be the perfect event to attend. This is my first event since Ryan C took over and he did a fantastic job. What an amazing time at Sealegs. Very cozy comfy winebar with fantastic food. We were treated to cheese & charcuterie plate, bruschetta, shrimp & chorizo flatbread, fig & prosciutto flat bread, sausage, pork, or blue cheese sliders(we got the blue cheese one), «stinky» fries, and carrot cake. Each course was paired with wine. We had a La Rioja from Argentina, Malbec from Argentina, Pinot Noir from central coast California, and a champagne… all wonderful. I won’t go into details about the food beyond the fact every single item was fantastic. I’ll save details for when I return, and return I will. It was great visiting with familiar faces and meeting new people. Thank you Unilocal and Sealegs for a perfect Tuesday evening! P. S. Sorry about the pics… I had the flash off so it’s very dark :-)

Wow, I’m happy and sad I was here. I had to leave early to pick up a friend from the airport but everything food, wine, and the speed of service was pretty darn quick. Happy happy. Except when I had to leave and miss the last 30 minutes of it. The La Yunta Torrontes-Crisp, refreshing, sweet wine. Loved it. I didn’t get the peach notes but I do taste the fruitiness I so wanted to have more. I think I should’ve stole another glass, but like Austin Powers, I behaved. I did take the liberty to research this $ 10 wine, not available at Bevmo nor Totalwine but I found it on Amazon of all places. The Bruschetta was out of this world! The paprika oil and the chargrilled baguette really comes through with the taste. Ironically, if you look at their website, this is actually paired with a red but it also works well with the white. Alberti 154 Malbec-simple, tasty, merlot like wine. I dig it, but the pinot noir won me over. Jack Hammer Pinot Noir-Big bold taste, has lots of «legs». Won wine of the week from LA Times this past week for a $ 13-$ 15 wine. Sausages Sliders-Best sliders!(Althought I didn’t get a taste of the pulled pork sliders) It was not salty, tasted like a linguica burger. The tomato sauce and provolone made the slider taste complete. Yummy! Bleu Cheese Sliders-The blue cheese was a little overpowering for me. Personally could not taste the shallots and the wine demi glaze. Nevertheless, it was pretty awesome . Stinky Fries-Parmesan Fries with three cheese fondue and truffle oil? It was creamy and crunchy and while it was hot, it was awesome! Kind of like dipping your fries into a fondue right? It tasted a bit heavy for me after a few bites. Those were pretty much what I had during the duration of this Gold event. I got to chat with Traci and Alex. Got to sit in the group with Katie, Jerome, Karen. Got to say hi to Ben, Steph, and Lauren.(she has a drinking problem :)) Of course, I got to see my Cousin Ryan(insert inside joke here) I love all you guys! I really dig these Gold events because it’s small and intimate. I am really glad I had the opportunity to have some fun time with you all here. Oh, the cupcake from Pinkys is AWESOME! It tasted like red velvet, cream cheese frosting. Melts in your mouth goodness and one of my favorite! I didn’t even notice at first but there are gold stars on the cupcakes. Get it? Gold stars? Gold Elite? Never mind, I’m not good with jokes anyways. But if you want me to down a bottle of adult grape juice with any of you, please feel free to let me know!

It’s great to be GOLD Elite! SeaLegs Wine Bar treated a few Gold Elites to a 4-course tasting menu complete with wine pairings. I really enjoyed the ambiance and intimate setting of the event. Thank you to Ryan C. for putting together such a wonderful event. We started off with a charcuterie plate, bruschetta and a Torrontes white wine from Argentina. Next up, we were served flatbreads with an Argentinian Malbec. Thirdly, we had sliders paired with a Pinot Noir. Lastly, we had carrot cake with champagne served up French style over ice with mint. It was an amazing event filled with good food, good friends, and good fun. We even got Unilocal cupcakes from Pinkys complete with tiny gold stars as a takeaway. SeaLegs gave us a wine bottle opener too. Thanks again to SeaLegs for their hospitality.
