Like Tressy said. It’s doesn’t exist anymore. Stopped by today hoping it was still there. But behold, no more.

PCH Dogs is closed. No sign in the window, this is tragic.

PCH Hot Dogs is always one of the stops that my friends and I take when we are at the beach. Although the menu is small, each and every one of the orders are always great and I never leave dissatisfied. The ambience of PCH Hot Dogs also matches perfectly with the scenery outside.

Best hot dog place in so cal. hands down. Not to mention… the beach is about thirty steps from the front door. PS — Order the chilli cheese dog… you’ll thank me later

Instant love for the Chicago dog today; the pickle, relish, tomatoes and onions may have been the most perfect condiments i’ve ever had on a dog. The dog itself was also pretty fabulous, with a good snap — I said no to the celery salt, and the guy actually misheard me and put it on, which I was OK with(don’t know why I said no; weird), and now i never want a hot dog without celery salt ever again. i want to go back and have… everything else on the menu! Pure yum on a bun.

The hot dogs themselves are nothing special… The chili was pretty tasty. I like that a place that has a «Chicago Dog» actually serves a Chicago style dog. The service was standard if not a little unfriendly. If I find myself on the beach and craving a hot dog… I won’t hesitate to stop on into this place again.

Soft-served ice-cream in a cup was good, and offered at a decent price. Cheese fries were okay; it sucks that the cheese was not completely melted.

I miss this place so much. When I used to work downtown, I would come here every other day. So often that the guys remembered me and had my order ready by the time the line died down and I got to the register. Their hot dogs are good ol’ American hot dogs. But what made my eyes roll were the chili fries. They’d stack the chili, the cheese and the jalapenos high on top of freshly made fries and it would set me right for the rest of my shift. But what really set it off? The soft serve! Don’t get mad when it gets busy and it takes a little while, though because most of the time, they’ve only got one guy working. What’s a little wait for a seriously good salty mess?

My girlfriend and I love this place! The original is in Orange but the owner finally opened one on PCH across the street from the Ruby’s on the pier. The Chicago dogs here are really good and I especially love the chili cheese dogs. They shred generous helpings of real cheese on top of the chili and if you get fries they fry them fresh for you after you order them. Try the shakes too.

2 Chili Cheese Dogs 2 Fire Dogs 1 Strawberry shake — — — — — — — — — – $ 16.00 I was underwhelmed with this spot. I had to forgo the thought of plump dirty dogs, and remember that they are modeling their dogs after NY/Chicago in order to rate this accordingly. It wasn’t memorable, and actually a bit bland… especially the chili cheese. I honestly think the only thing that separated this and Wienerschnitzel was that it’s right across from the beach. The strawberry shake was more of a smoothie than a shake. It was okay. We drove 30 minutes to come here… so I don’t think we’ll be returning. It’s also located on Main Street(which I didn’t know)…and with Main Street, you either love or you hate it. I hate it =T Even though it’s a different kind of dog and experience, I’d say make your way to Jerry’s Dog in Santa Ana/Tustin. There’s just more frills and thrills. Or, if you want it nice and cheap. make your way to Costco and get the 1 hot dog plus soda for less than $ 2.

To tell you the truth. This was one of the best dogs I’ve had. I had the Fire Dog. Plenty of jalapenos and all the other condiments. The«fire» was a little low, which is perfect for most Americans. I also had the chili fries. The fries were made to order. The chili was OK, but they added so much cheese. It was greasy happiness. I’ll explore more of the menu next time. It’s cash only, but $ 10 should cover most people.

Hot dogs for lunch! I had ketchup, mustard, and sour kraut. It was awesome until I started talking and let the bun get soggy. Stupid run of the mouth, should have just eaten it! I experienced the chili fries too. .. o man. So good. Come here if you’re at HB and need a cheap lunch or snack. Watch out for the really expensive parking meters, though. Eat fast and have a pocket full of quarters. xxx C

Not a huge fan of the chili… a little too… liquidy? The hot dog and bun themselves are great — it’s really nice to have a hot dog with actual casing. They also have a nice technique going with the cheese fries(the fries are excellent), where they layer the(real) cheese. Actually, I was a little disappointed since I was kind of craving the fake, gooey, cheddar cheese… but still good… just eat them really fast since the real cheese congeals fast.

i recently went to the famous Pink’s in Hollywood for the first time and realized that hot dogs will only ever be so good. Pacific Coast Hot Dogs is honestly right up there with Pink’s and the people who are usually working are always so nice and awesome. I’d recommend it to tourists visiting HB, and especially locals who probably don’t even know that this gem exists.

You can not beat the price!!! For under 6 $ I got a chili dog and a chocolate malt! The malt was amazing, and the hot dog was perfect! It was hot and cooked just right, covered in onions, cheese, and chili. You can’t beat this place for cheap food that’s good!

The hot dogs are delicious, and they make a perfect pairing with the wonderfully grease-laden chili. If you’re feeling particularly indulgent, include a flavored shake(they have plenty of options, including mango, blueberry, and root beer) and an order of chili cheese fries. The latter are crisp, golden and always made fresh to order, then smothered with chili, and topped with a generous helping of cheddar cheese. The man behind the counter works with such efficiency, and I’m always delighted at the deliberate, uniform way that he packs each dog securely into a snug little envelope crafted by himself, and hands it across to me. I prefer this location to the Orange one simply due to the surrounding area(the ocean view!), but the hot dogs are consistently good — and well wrapped! — across both locations. The only thing that would make PCH better is if my meal didn’t feel like such a heart attack after I ate it. But hey, Unilocal says July is National Hot Dog Month, and that may be reason enough to pay homage at my favorite hot dog shop.

Delicious chili dogs. I’d been passing this place by since it looks like another one of those tourist type places with lousy food but I finally checked it out and I *love* the chili dogs here! They use Hoffy brand dogs which have a really good snap to them. I recommend the PCH Dog. .which is a chili dog. The chili is a good no-bean version…a lot like the«meat sauces» I remember from my favorite places back East. Update — I’ve been all over LA trying to find Hoffy brand dogs and I think I give up. I finally found some Hoffy Natural Casing dogs…but they were totally *not* the dogs used at PCH. These hotdogs are so good, and I can’t find them anywhere. That, in itself, is a reason to come to PCH Dogs. Another Update — Last time I was here I told the guy I had trouble trying to buy the hotdogs in the market and he offered to sell me some! That’s it — I am naming my first born PCHDOG. well. maybe not but I really do like this place.

There is nothing special about PCH Hotdogs. Just your basic hot dog stand serving up ah, hot dogs. In a bun. With the standard variety of toppings.(The Orange location looks a lot cooler though.) The dogs are all beef, it’s not jumbo by any means but it yields that lovely snap that the grocery store kinds just can’t deliver. Try the shoestring fries with cheese on top. Take your date here for a litmus test of sorts. Any guy or girl who can’t love a dog every now and then, eh … Afterward, you can head next door to Beach Berries for dessert and then for a pleasant stroll along the pier. That’s what I call the 20 dolla date.
