I had to accompany my girlfriend to the vet which was right around the corner to Pig & Parsley. I was there for 4 hours and starving so I looked on Unilocal for a nearby restaurant and found this gem. I ordered a tri-tip sandwich for myself and a smoked sirloin for my girlfriend. The tri-tip was absolutely delicious and my girlfriend liked her sandwich as well. I liked their house bread. The sandwich was huge and will definitely make you full. It’s such a shame I live in L.A. Otherwise I’d be here pretty often. I come down to the O.C. area often so I will be back.

Went to lunch here and got the tri tip sandwich. Had good flavors and the sandwich was good size, however the meat was a little tough to chew, not a fan of that. Everything seemed fresh and had good flavors I think next time I will try the pulled pork sandwich and hopefully next time I can give more stars.

Found this place by accident while traipsing around Fountain Valley. This place is a nice little deli with friendly wait and severer staff. The owner, I think, gave me a half pulled pork sandwich and a salad which was excellent. The salad’s ingredients were fresh and the pulled pork had just the right amount of sauce as not to be messy. I noticed they served wine as well… i wanted to have a glass but had to drive. damn! They only thing I didn’t like was that they are open from 10 – 5 and on weekdays only. I have friends and family in the area and would gladly bring them here for the great food!!!

This food is off the hook! Very flavorful and fully worth every dime! I’ve done the tri-tip sandwich and had the half salad and sandwich. Both are phenomenal!!! I am going to keep coming back till I eat it all.

If you look at me like I’m crazy after I ask you to remake my sandwich completely after you first serve it with raw chicken, I must question the rest of your kitchen practices. The food looked really good, but I just couldn’t eat it while thinking that my remade sandwich still had raw chicken juice on it.

I found Pig & Parsley using my Unilocal app when looking for a quick meal to take to my mom who had been sitting in the hospital all day with my dad. Anxious to get to the hospital myself I called in our order of 3 sandwiches and 2 salads, I was quoted 25 minutes which seemed like a long time for a lunch spot. It was 12:08 on a Friday. I was only 5 minutes away so I headed over and went inside to choose drinks and pay for my order, knowing it would still be a few minutes. There were a couple of tables occupied, a four top and a couple of people dining solo; no one seems to have food. The girl working the counter seemed incredibly stressed and told me my order wasn’t ready(which I expected) and told me that large orders take a bit longer. I was surprised that 3 sandwiches and 2 salads would be considered a large order for a lunch spot… My anxiety grew as I watched this duo, the counter girl and guy making food, work this lunch rush. He seemed to keep snapping at her, throwing sandwiches to the counter and demanding that she wrap them up. She would make a face every time he did it and then look to the front at the customer she knew she should be helping. This went on for quite some time as my order that I was quoted 25 minutes for ultimately took 40 minutes to receive. NOT acceptable in a sandwich shop at lunch time. That could take up someone’s whole lunch break! The counter girl apologized for the wait and then told me that for large orders I needed to give them more time! Aren’t sandwich shops used to making sandwiches and salads quickly?!! I wasn’t catering a party for 20! I was anxious to see and taste this food that I waited so long for… I ordered the turkey sandwich and chopped salad for my dad and he was sleeping when I arrived to the hospital so I don’t have a review on those. My mom and I shared the Pastrami sandwich and it was delicious, but could have had more meat in such a generous roll. The mustard was spicy and sauerkraut perfection. We also planned to share the Spinach salad to which I added Roasted Chicken. The chicken looked like it was cooked on the same flat top the Pastrami was just warmed on so it was covered in black, greasy specks. Too unappetizing to even try. My mom picked around the chicken and said the salad was«fine». My brother had the Tri Tip sandwich and really enjoyed it. It had grilled onions and peppers with a chimichurri sauce that he said was delicious. His sandwich appeared to be heavier on the meat. Would I go back? Probably not… The shop seemed poorly run, understaffed and the food was nothing to write home about.

Had a cheese steak with egg sandwich. The egg was added by request, but is a great combo together. By itself, the smoked sirloin was delicious and cooked perfect! Can’t wait to come back!
the pig and parsley has been around almost a year and it serves up some awesome sandwiches, soups and salads. It has a small friendly staff with the chef being the owner. He smokes, cures, pickles, etc… all the organic materials he uses in his food. when you order, he will make your sandwich to your liking if asked and he’s very generous with his portions. my all time favorite sandwich is the tri-tip, but because i like it so much i will not review it for Unilocal because i’m biased on that sandwich. instead i’ll review his grilled sliced chicken breast sandwich that i haven’t had in a long time. first bite you take, you taste a symphony of flavors starting with the perfectly cooked chicken breast that’s very moist and has a nice smoky taste. usually when you get sliced chicken breast it’s always drenched in some sort of sauce to hide how dry it is, but he gets it right every time. no need for that in this sandwich. the cheese blends perfectly with the smoky chicken breast and elevates the flavors of the perfectly seasoned bird. you keep eating and the acidity of the pickled onions balance and complement the greens and other ingredients in the sandwich. the avocado dressing is light and has a nice delicate flavor that doesn’t have that strong avocado nutty and oily flavor that you usually expect when you eat avocado. instead it adds to the complexity of a simple sandwich that’s been elevated with good technique and care from someone you know who loves his food. when you go in don’t expect some built up hipster place. it’s more of a humble little deli that serves amazing sandwiches and that is building itself up slowly into greater things. expect a mixed crowd from office employees and blue collar workers from the industrial businesses in the area, to everyday normal grandparents and families. try this place out and bring a friend.

Tried it. Loved it… Ordered catering for my work next week and everyone is excited! Also great place to eat in — couches inside or tables outside in the winter sun.

I am going to give 5 for effort and because I know how difficult a small restaurant can be Pastrami was very good. Loved the bread! Hubby had tomato basil soup he enjoyed it. The potato salad was my only complaint– I couldn’t eat it way to vinegary– and potatoes were hard Overall through the place is well worth to check it out!

I’ve been here a few times now. I work right next to it at MEDL Mobile. I’m speechless about how good the food is here. It looks fresh, it tastes fresh, and best of all you can basically ask for whatever custom thing you want on your bare order and chances are the master chef behind the counter can and will make it happen. The bratwurst, like what the ef… I thought after I had a bratwurst in NY I wasn’t going to find better. Of all places, one walking distance of my work impresses me to no end. I asked for a fried egg to top it off and the guy PERFECTLY fried the egg sunny side up. I don’t even. Come here if you want good, savory, fresh food. I’m coming here again and again until I can’t anymore. Ps: The pulled pork torta gets a little messy but it’d hardly a be considered a con.

My co-worker brought me back 2 sandwiches from this spot. A Delightful surprise! I’m actually a sandwich tasting expert. The tri tip and pulled pork were both delicious. The house bread, spreads, greens and meats were all on point. Not open on weekends!!! Monday could not come any sooner for me to actually go there to try out everything!!! Highly recommended for a lunch spot. Man it’s gonna be too crowded soon.

If I had to narrow my choice of meats down to one for the rest of my life, I am quite certain that meat would be pork — James Beard That James Beard is a smart guy. I wonder if he amounted to anything? ;-) I figure after the Ying of writing about Dollar’s poor service I should write the yang of this excellent new deli. I am the first Unilocal Elite member to review it!(Of course given a lot of Elite reviews that’s not exactly a Gold Seal of approval). A lot of sandwich shops have blown up big in the OC. Delilicious, Bruxie’s, Peter’s Gourmade, Harry’s Deli, the terribly overrated Mick’s Karma Bar. Out of all of these, Delilicious has always been my favorite although I did enjoy Harry’s pulled pork. Pig and Parsley should be the next sandwich shop to hit it big and with great service and no egomaniacal store owner, your soul and karma will be better off eating here. I have tried both the tri-tip and the pulled pork. I like the pulled pork just a shade better. Great meat and sauce compliment the tangy, acidic slaw. i normally hate cole slaw but the version here is outstanding. The Tri-Tip is also outstanding with a biting chimichurri sauce to complement the tasty meat. It will be tough to try other items on the menu after having these two sandwiches but the grilled cheese as advertised looks fantastic. My only areas for improvement would be to kick the bread up a notch and please try and get a soda fountain machine. Sandwiches always taste better with copious amounts of diet soda ;-) The bread is a solid roll but the quality of the fixings here really demand a top quality bread. Highly recommended even in its industrial park setting. I hope to try more of the great food here in the future :-)

Stopped by this place because of the great reviews. You can order their sandwiches by the half so I decided to try two different items. I ordered the roast beef and the grilled chicken sandwich. The roast beef I didn’t care for at all, the meat had a lot of that stringy fat which makes it hard to bite through when you take a bite of the sandwich. The chicken sandwich was better, my only issue is that there isn’t enough ingredients piled in. I think the bread they used was a thick ciabatta which was great but I felt like I was eating more bread than anything else. Staff was friendly, the place is new so it looks like they still need to vamp up the place with some décor. Maybe In time I’ll try it again and see if it’s gotten any better. My review is mainly based on the two sandwiches I tried.

I came in here with my roommate(aka my mom) and were really stoked to get a pulled pork sandwich from a new eatery in Fountain Valley. We’ve been wanting more local, conscious(sustainable plastic cups) places to eat and found this perfect spot that we’ll definitely come back to. Flavors: I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was $ 6 and definite return on your money. Huge portion with great cole slaw and fresh pork that maintained a nice ratio of BBQ sauce. Sweet but tangy as well. We also ordered a chicken salad that we got to try all their dope sauces with, which the owner said he adds his own twist to each that originates from different places. and the chicken had a nice bite to it that left the leaves complimenting such a variety of flavors that came together nicely. Service: right when you walk in you’re face to face with the counter, which helps facilitate ordering. The woman at the front was super friendly, and allowed us to try all the salad dressings for free(the chimchurri & creamy avocado are dope). The chef there is a really nice guy who chatted us up about another venture he had and super cool guy, who told us all about his dishes. Atmosphere: the décor is nothing to write home about but it succeeds in its expansiveness. It almost looks like a bar where the register is and wraps around to the seating which has benches(my roommate loves that). The walls have plain paint and a few wooden doors for style but nothing much beyond this. A couch awaits the food comas before heading back to work.

Pig & Parsley is amazing and wonderful. When I hear the word ‘deli’, I envision either Goldenblatt’s or these small, relatively tidy, not excitingly describable, shops. The total rating was very high though and as I perused further, found the pictures very appealing. The ingredients used and listed on their website sounded fresh, clean, and inviting. The establishment is very easy to find despite the street name. And smells divine inside, though not in that overwhelming sense. The girl working up front is beyond friendly — she brought us samples upon samples of their pickled dishes, four bean salad and potato salad. The Chef/owner came out to see how out meal was and Sal and I, we had no quibbles or arguments. In fact, I believe that the both of us lauded his work here. He had to pull away to the kitchen from our conversation when another customer came in and ordered. :) friendly guy, and very Clean minded as well. We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Tri-Tip Sandwich. The Pulled Pork came with this tangy modern twist of a slaw, which paired perfectly with Sal’s tastes. He isn’t too much of a gourmand nor too adventurous, but he was very pleased with his meal. The Tri-Tip came with Cojita cheese(pretty sure I misspelled it) which was an amazing combination. Better than Parmesan Reg! Close to that pure clean quality of Burrata! I mean, in the sense of food pairing. :) The only bad thing about Pig & Parsley, and I mean OnLy, that I think of is their closing time. We were lucky because we had the day off! Otherwise I don’t know when we will ever be able to come back(together).

Pig and Parsley recently opened and fills a long awaited need for great food close to work for many of us in the area. They offer sandwiches and salads that are excellent for lunch with plenty of options. Today I had the spring green salad with dried cranberries, sliced almonds, and parmesan. You can choose from several protein options to add for an additional $ 3.00. I had the roasted chicken with the salad. The chicken was excellent. Cooked properly and tender with savory roasted flavors. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the parmesan was delicious. Simple vinaigrette dressing went perfectly well with everything. For under $ 10.00 I had an awesome salad with an entire sliced chicken breast. I will be back soon and often with more pictures as I go through the menu. Thank you for providing a really good option for lunch. Come by and taste for yourself.
