This is our favorite new place! We’ve been here three times this month! Family owned and I feel like I’m in Florence, Italy! The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. I never write reviews but I had to do it!

Not just good but a great dinning experience! The owners(staff) are as nice as can be, I’ve been there several times and never had anything sub par! The chef is truly that(a chef) the pasta is perfect every time, seasoning spot on, friendly owners! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

Food was good and service was good. The service was ok but they need to pay more attention to the people they are serving. They attempted to take our soups, salads and bread several times before we were done.

I’ve been coming here for many years and their excellent quality in food & service has not changed and not to mention every single thing i’ve had on their menu was absolutely delicious. Hands down my favorite Italian food!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is always impeccable and the food great! The eggplant appetizer and bruschetta are great starters! My favorite dish is the Pollo Gorgonzola; it has a great flavor and it incorporates one of my favorite cheeses! My wife is vegetarian and appreciates the selection they have for her. My two younger daughters(6 and 9) love the food! The six year old loves the eggplant app and pasta with shrimp and cream sauce. The nine year old loves the carbonara pasta and the alfredo. The both enjoy the pizza. I would recommend this restaurant.

I’m enjoying this neighborhood haunt very much. Its small– 12 tables-so the service is prompt. Nice wine selection– had abottle of Ruffino chianti to pair with the veal picatta served with penne. All delish– covered in lemons and mushrooms. She had the seafood dish with diablo sauce. — not so spicy. all dishes were cooked well. Simple and straightforward dishes. A solid offering for $ 80. The best part is that no one is here after 7pm– so it nice and quiet. A bit more mood music would help. And the salad had left me wanting something else. but I didn’t go for the salad

Have been wanting to try this place for awhile. Walked in tonight and stood here for 5 minutes with no acknowledgement. The place isn’t that big! Very unwelcoming vibe. Can’t comment on the food since we were never seated. Left and went next door to Slow Fish, always great!

The outside literally is deceiving but once inside. You’ll swear you’re in Musso and Frank’s or a very elegant high class fine dining. The staff is very friendly and cuisine is spectacular! A one of kind, hard to find.

Service, food, and everything is wonderful. I recommend the artichokes with lemon cream, the cannelloni, fettina, florentine, Gorgonzola… you name it, it’s outstanding. The fresh baked bread and dessert tray are also quality. I can’t say enough good things about this place. To die for!

I only noticed Café Gazelle about a week ago leaving a nearby local Carl’s Jr. I thought it was a new restaurant and decided that my wife and I would give it a try. We had dinner there last evening and it was great. What really surprised me is that it has been there for eight years — yikes! I wish that I would have noticed it sooner. We had an altogether wonderful meal! We both ordered the lamb special — $ 20 — and it was delicious. It came with grilled vegetables and they were perfectly grilled — done just right. I have uploaded a photo of the dish. I had a desert, but did not hear what it was. However I would like to have ordered and eaten about six more. Service was very friendly and excellent. I had a couple of glasses of Pinot Noir at $ 6.95 per glass and thought it very good. Their wine prices whether by the bottle or glass seem very reasonable. Café Gazelle is less than a couple of miles from our home and we will definitely make this one of our goto restaurants. From me, four stars is a really good rating. As I said earlier I am sorry we did not discover this neighborhood gem years earlier!

We tried this restaurant few years back and was totally unimpressed and have not returned since; last Sat we were looking for a place close by and see all these good reviews on Unilocal and decided to give it a try thinking things must be different. There were only two other tables on a Sat night, atmosphere is not attractive, then the food was totally uninspired, I would not call this authentic Italian food, seafood was not fresh, could be because of the low turn-over, and the side pasta was tasteless. Service is ok but like one other Unilocaler mentioned, when the bill came, the price on the menu is lowered that what was on the bill. Will not return.

While the food and service were both good there was a problem with the pricing. The menu had a price lower than what was on our bill. My friend questioned the waiter about the price difference and the waiter said he didn’t know anything about the prices. My friend did not want to fight him on the bill so we let it go.(He gave us the specials at the beginning with prices). Also, when my friends asked if the restaurant did anything for birthdays we were told«happy birthday».

I LOVELOVELOVE this place! The worst part of moving away from HB is how much I miss this place! Rick is so wonderful and always so good to us. I will always recommend this place to everyone in HB and make the trip back just for the raviolis and chicken meat balls! That’s guys!

i love that this gem of a restaurant is in my neighborhood. Not close enough to walk but a short drive. The waiter is charming and the food outstanding. They have made accommodations for my sometimes picky pallet. We do not do chain restaurants so Caffe Gazelle is on our short list of places to go out to for dinner. I took friends to lunch recently — they were happy, as was I.

Hidden Gem:. Pleasantly surprised by this strip mall location. The restaurant is a small Italian restaurant, white table cloths with a small bar squeezed in back by open kitchen. Enjoyed Sea Bass with lemon caper sauce. Fish was very fresh moist, perfectly prepared along with penne past on side. Came with vinagarete salad with a little kick from chopped up radish i think. I will definitely return to try other pastas and chicken dishes even though the fish would be hard to pass up since it was So fresh. The prices are excellent also.

Quaint local Italian spot. The servers are quite attentive. We split the meal, so they prepared both meals individually and still plenty. Ask for items that may not be on the menu like the Chilean Sea bass.

The atmosphere of the rest is no very attractive, but the food is delicious and the staff very friendly. It’s a very good local Italian rest in HB. I like and recommend the paste verdure and chicken cacciatore.

Been wanting to try this place since I live pretty close. My wife and I get there about 10 minutes after they open and are the first ones there. We stand at the entrance wondering if we’re supposed to find a seat or wait. The two cooks are chit chatting away in the back and we’re totally invisible. After getting tired of waiting we just grab a seat on our own. We then wait… and wait… and wait… and wait. I told Donna we should go but then finally a waiter came over. From that point on the service was excellent. Shortly after we’re given water and menus more customers start walking in. We’re given fresh baked bread still steaming hot. Other tables are given olive oil and balsamic vinegar yet we’re not so we ask for some. Glad we did because the fresh bread was great with it. We start with their«Melanzana» appetizer which is eggplant oven roasted with shallots and mozzarella. If you’re a fan of eggplant I highly recommend this appetizer. It was fantastic. The eggplant was roasted perfectly without being mushy. It was very simple yet packed so much flavor. You get 4 slices so it’s perfect for sharing. With our entrees we’re given a choice of soup or salad. We both had the salad which is a simple salad tossed with their house made Italian dressing which they blend with red cabbage giving it an interested look and taste. I really liked it and thought it was clever but Donna didn’t like the purple color of her salad :-) For my entrée I had the Seafood Pescatore. This is angel hair pasta with shrimps and scallops in a «spicy fra diavola» tomato sauce. The giant scallops were outstanding. Very fresh tasting and seared just right. The shrimps on the other hand tasted very odd like they were past their prime. I didn’t like the shrimp at all. Luckily there was plenty of scallops. The pasta was cooked a perfect al dente and the sauce had a nice flavor. The sauce is a blend of tomato sauce and red chile peppers. Donna ordered the lasagna bolognese. This was truly one of the worst lasagnas she’s ever had. It came out looking like a pile of gloppy mush and didn’t taste any better. It had no filling inside except ricotta and the only meat was in the bolognese. She didn’t like it at all, I don’t even think she finished it. For dessert we had their tiramisu. I really enjoyed this but Donna didn’t. I’m not into really sweet stuff so I liked the fact this dessert wasn’t very sweet. I liked the texture of it and the taste. One of the better Tiramisu I’ve had in my opinion. What really sucked is they have two tables right outside the front door as «patio seating» and each table has ashtrays. So the last ½ of the meal a couple sat in one of those tables and chain smoked the entire time which just blew right into the restaurant. I thought smoking wasn’t allowed at restaurant patios anymore. In summary this restaurant was hit and miss. It had good points and bad points in pretty much everything we had from food to service. I’m not sure if I’d come back since Mangia Mangia up the street is the best Italian food in town.

Came in here last night with the girlfriend and her pop. He’s been here a bunch and liked it… Nice inside… looks like they recently remodeled and it’s cute. Small but intimate feeling. The staff was on us immediately and seated us. It’s totally open inside and you can see the kitchen at the far end. Cool. I ordered the Tutti de Mare and it was very good. My girl got the Chicken Marco Polo and liked it as well. After eating the server brought over a very nice desert plate… but I was too full for desert. All in all it was a nice experience and I look forward to stopping in again.
