I work just around the corner and decided to walk over and try out this spot for my lunch break. I am giving this place three stars only cause, although this food is yummy and the sweet potatoes are awesome, it’s not something that I’m absolutely obsessed about. It’s a decent tasting meal. If I could rate the customer service alone, I would give this place 5 stars. The young gentleman named Bleighn who helped me, let me sample the chicken and lamb/beef to see fit to my taste buds! Also his personal recommendations that helped me customize my kebab was very appreciated and genuine! I ended up having the chicken because I liked the marination. And house sauce was great like everyone else recommend on here! I would come back eventually when I’m craving those crispy sweet potatoes fries again!

My first introduction to this imported chain from Austin was a roller coaster of emotion tbqh familia. I live around the corner from this location so my address was caught up in the direct mailing campaign to send coupons to «the locals» to get them to mosey on in and try the new neighborhood flavors with a Spidey Sense pleasing buy one-get one promotion. I saved the coupon rather than placing it in the circular filing bin. By the time I pulled her out of the desk — ready to give her the old«college try» — I discovered it was far too late for the old lady to work her magic at the register. Upset, I assumed another coupon would eventually be forthcoming. I pledged to not visit this chain until I had another coupon’s cash money heroes promise to give me something for free or at least half price. In the meantime fellow Austin chain import next door in the strip mall, Mama Fu’s, angered Unilocal Elites as they agreed to host an OYE and pulled out shortly before the event — one of the rare OYEs I actually made the guest list for, so they pulled a real Brock Turner on me and left a worse taste in my mouth about Austin imports to Houston than Torchy’s. No similar or samesies coupon was ever forthcoming from this chain. Months passed. And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for [approximately] two and a half thousand years, this location of VERTS passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, VERTS ensnared a new bearer. June 11 is the chain’s anniVERTSary and they were running an even better promotion. The price point for an entrée you have to pay full price for is about $ 8 like Subway, Chipotle, et al. But how is the food? VERTS starts out your customization process with letting you select a pita, wrap, salad, or rice bowl. However the staff seem to easily get flustered and get things out of order if you order a gentlesir’s pita and the 90 pound girl behind you orders a salad — they don’t take the same amount of time to prepare the base. Just a little coordination would go a long way. Piada up on Memorial had the same problemo. I had to tell the assembly line people(all but the last toppings guy who was paying attention) the same thing I told that toothless siren on Maury that«it ain’t mine» as our pita/salads shuffled down the line and they looked to me as the father of the salad baby rather than my pita baby. The pita is beautiful with the /comfy/aesthetically pleasing marks from the grill: get the pita. The pita is your equivalent best option here the same as the fabulous cayenne tortilla choice at the Freebirds, or the gentlesir’s favourite option at uberrito to get the burrito over the tortilla chips and queso option because living past 40 is for dullards and turtles. Pita: 5⁄5. Then you choose your meat or meat substitute: lamb/beef, chicken, falafel, or beef meatballs. The lamb/beef has very thick cuts and is bland more than it is memorable. Compared to Al’s Quick Stop on Waugh around the corner, the best M.E./Med available in this part of the state, there is no comparison. The Halal Guys is superior by a full notch. VERTS easily leads the pack on the lesser Med types like Niko, Dimassi, and Greek/Turk joints with names white enough they sound like they own a #MAGA cap. Lamb/beef: 3⁄5. The pita is nice but the toppings are where VERTS really crushes it: spring mix, romaine lettuce, red cabbage, carrot slaw, tomatoes, sumac onions, cucumbers, spiced chickpeas, pickled red onions, pickled jalapeño, fresh lemon, herb mix, red peppers, grilled vegetables, quinoa, and feta. And all of it is fresh and high quality! Unlike Subway, which usually gives you trash-tier toppings. VERTS raises the bar now in what I expect in the toppings department at other fast casuals(like Chipotle’s divine sour cream which BTFO anything Freebirds has once you take the cayenne tortilla out of the equation.) My toppings guy at the end of the assembly line kindly indulged me and made it rain feta and jalapeño, which lets people know to George McFly-style keep their damn hands off my doner kebap. Toppings: 6⁄5. The last thing is the sauce. Which is disappointing. I did my research that they had four not-hot options(not considering them) and three hot options.(1) Spicy red pepper has ONE chili pepper on the online menu, which means you can give it to white people.(2) Spicy cilantro has TWO chili peppers on the online menu which means this is for sad sacks that actually like cilantro, the devil’s ditch weed. And ya boy(3) hot harissa has THREE chili peppers on the online menu, the most of any sauce which means it should be hot. Unfortunately harissa was not hot even though it has that alliteration game going for it. I know a white lady that would think toothpaste was hotter. Sauce: 1⁄5. Get me a proper hot sauce and your bangin’ toppings bar paired with your lovely pita will bring me back with an upgrayedd in star power to match Al’s and Halal Guys.

Food is good though they need more options. There is a bad smell around the bathroom which they haven’t fixed in months(hint to owners/managers: fix it soon, please!). I don’t understand why but there seems to be a huge turnover problem as well. Overall a good place but there sure is room for improvement.

The West Grey Verts team is the best! Their great customer service will definitely make me a regular at their location!

I’ll be honest I used to give this place 5 stars but they have since changed their brand and the reasons I loved it so much. They now have things that I’m not so interested in eating in my Kebap anymore. Carrots and random stuff that I just don’t think goes as well as the old recipe. I’ve given it two chances in the past couple of weeks or so and each time I have been disappointed. I am originally from Austin so I knew Verts before it exploded. Sad day.

I’ve been to this location twice in two weeks. You’d think that they changed owners in that time. The first visit(my first to Verts anywhere) was good. The food was great. The second visit was marred by the store being out of greens, romaine lettuce, onions, and sweet potato fries. The employees told me all of this before I ordered, blaming the problem on a delivery delay. I tried the location in the Heights after that, but they had similar problems(along with inept service).

Really enjoyed the felafel Vertskebap. It’s basically a felafel taco. Nice and crunchy, with crisp veggies and a nice red pepper hot sauce. Beer from the tap. Good music in the background. Reasonable prices. All in all: a cool place!

Very delicious lunch spot. My friend and I ordered a kebap and a wrap with French fries and falafel. The beef and lamb meat was good, but not very fresh. I got the VERTSORIGINAL«fixings» and really enjoyed it, especially the HOUSESAUCE, which was kind of like a zesty thousand island dressing. The FALAFEL side was great, that and the fries are made to order so they were nice and hot when we got them. The service staff was super nice to everyone but were definitely a bit disorganized. There was a lot jumping from station to station and I feel like it really slowed down the food making process in the end. They all smiled the whole time, but it was clear they were struggling to keep up with the line of people. Their BEER selection was a pleasant surprise, they had a few brews from Karbach and the TUESDAYHAPPYHOUR5 – 10 has half off all beers. HOPADILLOIPA approx 9% is only $ 2.25! That’s the cheapest I’ve seen it in Houston, so I’ll definitely be going back next Tuesday for some grocery store priced hoppy goodness.

The place is great if you are craving a donair or any other Mediterranean food. Everyone is super nice and friendly. Prices are reasonable and it’s super tasty. You can’t go wrong with the beef or the chicken because the meat is seasoned and prepared so well. It is also pretty cool that they serve beer. The only issue I had was the place did not exude cleanliness. The lettuce looked kind of brown and old, which is why I avoided putting it on my wrap.

Not my taste. I’ll pass. I ordered the sandwhich falafel with house dressing, spring salad, cucumbers, red peppers and onions. Dislikes –Falafel was a bit too spicy –over priced for the concept Likes –bread –freshness of toppings I’ll try this place out one more time in the future and order something different.

Having studied abroad in Germany in my not-so-distant youth, I associate the kebap with the thrilling döner that street vendors at 3am would squish together with garlic sauce for my plastered expatriate delight. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this place is a different experience — clean, well designed, totally acceptable for regular dinner hour eating. My only complaint is that they stick the cilantro and the onions together, so if you hate the former and love the latter, you might have to forgo the onion infusion in your lamb taco. But MADPROPS to this fine establishment’s employee who picked all the green stuff out of a serving of onions for me. Somebody give that guy a raise! SRSLY.

This is a great place for a cheap and good meal. I checked out the gluten free options before coming. The only GF option is salad, fine with me. Salad with either the chicken or lamb/beef and all the veggies. Lamb/beef for me today, delicious. The house sauce is simple and was perfect on the salad, and I got some of the spicy red sauce on the side. I recommend both, the spicy was on the hot side, just like I like it. They have regular fries(GF) and just added sweet potato fries as well — not sure if they are GF and the team here wasn’t sure either. For a sweet treat, there is a GF brownie(local from Austin) — yum! Service was awesome! All in all, a positive experience, I’ll be back!

On a recommendation we decided to try VertsKebap. The staff is super friendly and they explained to us how it all worked since we were first timers. I ordered the Original Vert(Beef&Lamb, Spring Mix, Red Cabbage, Tomato, Cucumber, Onion, House Sauce, Vinaigrette & Spicy Red Sauce) with a small fries. It was very flavorful, but the meat seemed a little dry and was a little crispy along the edges. The mixture of sauces was delicious as was the toasted bread that it was in. The fries were thin crispy natural cut fries which was another plus. Overall, good taste, but nothing so spectacular that I’d need to come back anytime soon. When i do come back, I think i’d be good with the snack size kebap and a small fries. The regular was pretty stuffed and I was full and couldn’t finish my fries. Your appetite will vary of course. Price was around $ 11 for the regular Vert and small fries and no drink, so for that amount i’d probably rather go to Phoenecia or Fadi’s for their wraps/kebabs for a more authentic flavor. NOTE: they pre-cut the meat from the rotisserie and store it in a closed container to keep it warm as opposed to cutting it from the rotisserie and putting it straight into the sandwich/wrap.

Subway meets Mediterranean food here at VertsKebap. I’m usually not a huge fan of either, but this marriage is everlasting. I had the kebap with falafels and a smattering of every topping/filling. The whole thing was like a Pac-Man with his jowls wide open, the pita bread could barely fit everything. It tasted relatively fresh(could be perhaps fresher, like the cilantro looked a little wilted), and the falafels was beautifully crispy. Bit of a chunky interior in the falafels, but they added nice texture to the whole kebap. I’ll definitely recommend this place to both health nuts and foodies alike!

3 stars today because my cantaloupe cup is a cup of sour melons :(my wrap was tasty but the last thing I wanted to taste when I got back to the office was a pungent cantaloupe

Delicious. I’ve never seen a VertsKebap until moving to Houston and I’ve waited quite a few months before visiting and I wish I hadn’t waited so long! The menu is simple, and offers customization because the food is made in an assembly like like in Chipotle or Subway. I ordered a classic lamb Kebap it was delicious, they had amazing sides to select from and great drink options that included organic chocolate milk(for the kids) and beer(for the adult)! I stayed away from the french fries for my side and was planning on getting a cup of fruit until I saw a gluten free brownie. What type of quick-food establishment offers quality sides like fruit and gluten free desserts?!? A quality establishment, that’s who. As you can tell, I loved the food. I’m a big fan. The staff were quick to greet me, quick to take my order and explained my options and made recommendations on what the most popular items were to help me make a quick decision. There was plenty of seating and a few outside tables to chose from too.

I’ve only been here once so far, but for a «quick bite» or «grab-and-go» type of place this place is pretty good. I like that there are so many options and that you can be relatively healthy depending on what you pick. The thing that actually stood out to me the most when I came in was the service– the guy behind the counter was SO helpful and friendly(and it came across extremely genuine.) I was there towards the tail-end of the night, so I was especially impressed with how calm and pleasant he was! On this first visit, I got a chicken kebap with grilled onions and the spicy red sauce. The chicken tasted awesome and I loved the sauce. A little spinach would have make it PERFECT!(Hear that, management? Ya really need some spinach or arugula!)

Delicious. This has become my «go to» quick lunch location. I’ve been here at least 4 times now. I went here once at 11:25am and the door was locked. I looked in and saw the employees behind the counter working and the door said 11am for an opening time. I was confused since I was meeting a friend there and decided to sit in my car and text my friend on other options. Another guy walked up and also tried to get in. Eventually they opened the doors and said they had to open late because they were waiting on meat. A note on the door would have all it would have taken to communicate that to customers. They weren’t apologetic or anything. I wasn’t impressed with the service that time at all, but I’ve definitely seen an improvement the last two times I went here. The last time I was there, an employee walked around and check on people as they ate and even gave me a coupon for buy one, get 50% off the second person. I love the freshly warmed and pressed bread, fresh veggies, etc… The people who build the kebap sandwiches will add extra sauce or veggies or whatever you request. I don’t like skinny fries, but my friends love the fries here. I’m a fan of the cabbage and corn toppings. The vinaigrette sauce is delicious! You can mix and match sauces too! I like how they use different cutting tools and tongs for the beef/lamb meat vs. the chicken. I appreciate that! The portion size is perfect and totally filling. I’ll be back!

First time trying Vertskebap. It’s like Chipotle. Very simple menu – choose from a kebap(sandwich), wrap, or salad. Pick a meat and add your favorite toppings. Restaurant looked clean and servers used gloves before handling food. Ordered beef and lamb salad with everything. Meat was tasty, but portion size was smaller than expected and temperature was only lukewarm. Meat was pre-sliced and not cut from the rotating spit. Another suggestion is to add a larger selection of vegetables/toppings. Maybe it’s intended that way to cut costs. Overall it was a decent experience. With a few tweaks, Vertskebap has potential to be really good.

DASLOKALBIERVOMZAPFISTTOLL! This is a chain that provides quick, light fare. I can’t give it 5⁄5 stars because it is a bit pricey and the meat is a bit bland. The vegetables are fresh & tasty but I agree with other reviewers that the upcharges are a bit out of line with what you get and the fries(while good) are a bit overpriced. Service is quick and friendly. They have great local beers on tap!
