Nightlife options are plentiful in Houston, but places like Throne are a tad reminder that the city isn’t ready for the dbaggery that exists in other prominent clubby cities. High drink prices, general pretension amongst the bartenders /bouncers /staff, and shell of a club makes for a less than an ideal experience. Throne’s interior is hardly royal, the space is decent enough for some group action but not large enough to warrant a mega club experience. Take away the ambient lighting and LCD TVs, and it essentially feels like a souped up adult club or subpar lounge in New York. The fact they charge a cover on some nights might feel a tad insulting for some of us who are used to this sort of thing. As expected, bottle service can be hit or miss. A good key is to request to be situated in a visible area adjacent to the dance floor, assuming one wants to socialize. Prices will vary of course, but no one gets out of it without paying at least $ 150 + gratuity. Allow the cocktail waitress to do the mixing and always make sure to check the bill. But it’s not all terrible in these parts. Good company and good music go a long way. That and street parking. Glorious street parking.

Went here to celebrate a friend’s bday. Not my choice of venue, but went anyways. This place us super small with the child size booths and high school homecoming looking streamers hanging everywhere! The only good points about this place are as follows: the waitresses were very attentive to refill mixers and restock ice and cups(probably because this place was not busy at all!) and the music was ok I guess. Did I mention that when we got there at 11:30 it was so dead that the valet attendant negotiated my valet cost from $ 20 to $ 10 because they were so dead?! This was his idea, not mine although I gladly accepted! We won’t be back.

Came here last night for the first and last time. It all boils down to a couple key factors. Bottle Service — The only good thing about it was that they are quick to refill your mixers. The booth they crammed me in was child sized. I could barely fit my knees in there and I’m only 5’11″. The waitress was rude. Once you order, she is nowhere to be found. The bottles jump in price at midnight with no warning. They weren’t taking credit card, and expected us to pull cash from the ATM. After we paid it, they kicked us out. Venue — It’s kind of small with a very crowded booth setup. It feels like they just wanted to cram as many tables as they can in the club. Bathrooms — This gets its own bullet point because they are co-ed. It’s weird. It’s a long line of stalls for both men and women in one room. Just anther example of how they are trying to maximize the amount of booths. Prices — Typical Washington prices with no drink specials. Left much to be desired. Nothing special here. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Absolutely no reason to go back.

Came here last night, the crowd I came with was at least 70 – 80 people. The shots were an outrageous $ 10, and the line did not move for about 30 – 40 minutes though my group had bottle service. We were told that a bottle was $ 150 beforehand, got charged $ 200 and a gratuity charge of $ 70 for a total of $ 270 when it should ONLY have been $ 180. When we tried talking to the manager he treated us awfully even though we brought in almost all of their business that night. Nothing we could do so we had to pay and then got kicked out after paying a $ 300 tab for expressing that we were unhappy with the service. NEVERCOMINGBACK. Oh and they also charge girls $ 20 cover
