Gatsby Lounge Inside of The Mark

Went on a Friday when it’s supposed to be fun… There were a lot of people there. Music was pretty good, albeit super loud. And I don’t mean normal club music loud. It like hit my ears and if someone was trying to talk to you, you will not hear them.
Now I’m from Dallas where people dance. So I was really confused when I walked in and most people were just standing around drinking, looking, and not dancing lol. I’m thinking it’s a Houston thing, though. Who knows.

This place is where the Drake used to be– big warehouse off Washington st. For those that aren’t familiar with the area, this club isn’t clumped together with the rest of the bars that are down on Washington (closer to Memorial) this is more towards Downtown and is pretty isolated.
So here’s the thing… My review for clubs is based on atmosphere, crowd, and definitely music. After all, isn’t that why we go… To dance?
It’s a pretty big area with a huge patio (by the entrance), a Latin room and a large hip-​hop room. Music was really good, and it was easy to maneuver between the two rooms. Since it’s in an old warehouse, the area was well-​ventilated with high ceilings so I didn’t feel claustrophobic.
Now the crowd was looking a tad bit young: between 18 – 21 which would have killed it for me, If it weren’t for the people watching
