Meh, I’ve had way better. I’ve been wanting to try this place out forever since I love breakfast and all. I came with my nephews this Sunday morning(Memorial Day weekend) and the service was ok and food was so-so. I ordered the Viva French Toast and the kiddos had Alli Baba Pancake and the other Chocolate Chip Pancake. Since neither kids’ dish came with eggs, I ordered a side of eggs. The French toast was on sourdough bread but it was very disappointing. I was too doughyish(I know it’s not a word) and not atoasty. The eggs tasted like they used too much butter. Needless to say, I didn’t finish my meal. The kids’ pancake were made of wheat and both of the kids like their food. This place would be better off being counter service. There were a lot of people here and from what I can tell there were a lot of regulars too. You have to pay at the register once the bill comes. For the price range and food quality, I would expect more and have had way better. I will not be back.

Typical breakfast spot. I’d say better than a regular IHOP or Denny’s if you want some traditional American breakfast foods. Its definitely not like the Bird’s Nest in Springfield, but its alright.

The Egg and I is one of my favorite go to places for breakfast. Today, I had my first lunch there. I had the Classic Ruben with ranch potatoes and coffee. The sandwich was great, the bread was nicely grilled workout being greasy. There was plenty of meat in the sandwich and the potatoes were good and not greasy either. All in all great lunch. I know I’ll be back, yet I’m more interested in trying new dishes.

YUM. Aside from the long line and wait to eat this place has easily become one of my favorite brunch spots in the Houston area. The staff is kind and welcoming. There are so many delectable items on the menu, I love how they also have limited seasonal items and beverages too. But every time I come here I order the same thing: the Strawberry and Banana Nut Waffle and it never disappoints. It comes with a large crispy on the outside, soft on the inside waffle with strawberries and bananas patterned on top with a sprinkle of walnut and squirt of whip cream. I also ordered a hot coffee that came with a hot coffee pot and small cup of cream. It’s too bad I don’t live in Houston or I could see myself coming here weekly. I make sure to come visit this place when I come visit.

There is something just plain good about this place. It’s open only for breakfast and brunch(closing at around 2:00pm each day) serving your breakie favorites — ie pancakes, waffles, omelettes galore. It’s the same kind of food as IHOP but a little more creative, more personal, and less corporate franchisey. Also, basically everything comes with a side of eggs which fits in well with my current egg obsession(they are just so healthy, cheap, and tasty!) I had a bite of the French toast which was decent and the patriot waffle which was decent as well. I think it’s particularly good for families and children as the plating is always fun and cute. I went for the Huevos Rancheros which might have been a bit of a typical choice that I could have gotten elsewhere. It would be better to try some of their more original items like: –the Parisian Benedict with flaky croissant, smoked ham and portabello mushrooms or –the Cambridge Skillet with ham, bacon, cheese, and ranch potatoes on an English muffin or –the Crabcake Benedict(self explanatory It’s too bad I don’t live in Houston any more. Maybe when I go back to visit.

Perfect place to take the kids for breakfast. My kids enjoy the chocolate chip pancakes. Always our 1st choice when deciding on breakfast with the kids.

It was ok. Im looking for more authentic food. Didnt realize this place is more like a Dennys. But food was decent.

Staff was wonderful but the food was garbage and over priced. Couldn’t figure out why the wait was so long.

Awesome first experience. The service was great I had the strawberry banana waffle with sausage and scrambled eggs. The food was very good. This will definitely replace IHOP and Denny’s!

We enjoyed the coffee pot full of coffee but the Denver omelet was kind of scrawny, not much to it, I had a better Colorado scramble. The service was pretty good, the coffee was better than IHOP but the food wasn’t, nuff said…

This isn’t a bad location for this restaurant, that I just found out about. Its a cozy breakfast and lunch place. I believe they compete with Denny’s and IHOP but to me they are more personal and warming to their customers. The food is very good and affordable also. I will definitely come back again.

I love the Egg and I overall. I didn’t particularly care for this location that much. Our server was pretty good and the food was good — not great. I typically order the same thing from their various locations, and I wasn’t exactly a fan of this place. Also, if you need your check split, make sure you have your server do it before you check out. They only split it down the middle up front, which I thought was pretty weird that we were flat out refused our checks split properly. It made our wait time longer and became quite an annoyance.

I’ve eaten at this Egg & I location multiple times and I can say with a 100% guarantee it is much better than any other location I’ve been to. All of the servers I’ve had here are very friendly and offer fast service. As for their food, everything I’ve had here is fantastic. I normally stick with the Cambridge skillet but I tried the eggs Benedict as well, which was pretty good. I’ve brought a couple friends with me to this location and it’s been a hit with everyone. I’ll continue coming to this location, for as long as I’m in Houston.

I really like this spot. That Crabcake Benedict is EVERYTHING. This location is in the shopping center right across the street from Myerland Plaza. The place isn’t really very large so on the weekends and holidays it could get busy and have a longer wait time for a table. The menu has more than just eggs. But every dish does come with eggs. They also have a kids menu as well so feel free to bring the kiddos. I like that the shopping center isn’t a really busy one so there’s always parking available. There are multiple locations around town so when you get a chance to check them out, do so.

Crystal was a great server! We just left and I’m very happy with our experience. I had the breakfast croissant and hazelnut iced coffee and both were excellent. Crystal did take a little longer to bring me a refill, but when she came back it was in a to-go cup! That was unexpected and so nice of her. Definitely ask for her if you visit here.

3.5 stars. Egg&I is a pretty average brunch place with café style decorations that are a little classier than IHOP. The service is pretty good, but it isn’t anything to rave about. There’s plenty of seating and parking, so you won’t have to wait long. As for food, the fresh OJ tastes more like OJ from a carton.(I would not recommend). The food though is pretty delicious, and it comes in HUGE portions. I ordered the Athena scramble, and the balance of ingredients was right on point. Usually brunch will leave me feeling very gross and oily, but the Athena has just the right amount of veggies to offset the potatoes. They also have this amazing amazing raspberry granola pancake that my friend ordered. It comes with a side of strawberry yogurt, and it is wonderful. This is a brunch place that I probably would not go out of my way for, but if I’m in the area and wanting eggs, then I would probably come back.

Definitely one of my favorite breakfast places. The service is friendly and fast and the food is always cooked just right. The food selection includes waffles, pancakes, five different eggs benedict, omelettes, skillets, frittatas, and scrambles and hashes. And that’s just the breakfast menu! My favorite healthy breakfast is tHe Vera Cruz Chicken and Avocado omelette. Tasty and healthy. To offset the healthiness I usually have a side of raisin French toast with sweet cinnamon butter. If you want a great lunch sandwich try the Bacon Avocado Chicken sandwich. This new menu item is my new lunch favorite. Easy parking, great food, friendly staff. You can’t go wrong here.

This is the second time I’ve been to The Egg and I and it’s just as amazing as the first! I went with 4 friends so we all ordered different food so I have a lot to report. I ordered the breakfast croissant and it was fresh and delish! The hash browns were just ok, the next time I’ll probably order the grits or some fruit. My friend ordered the pancakes and they were a hit, just like last time. They are always fresh and cooked perfectly. Another friend had the Belgian waffle and it was so light and fluffy. Next time it will be my pick. Lastly another friend ordered a veggie omelette that was so great and full of flavor. Great great buy!
