Subway

Subway us usually dependable. and today the food was fine, just what we expect. The service however was really terrible. there were two women ahead of me when I entered, and three «servers». How long could it take? try 12 minutes. the young man in the «middle» seemed to know his stuff and be hustling, the order taker woman was clueless, but kind of harmless too. but the woman taking $, had a phone jammed in her ear and was basically not helping. When I got (finally) to pay, she was still talking but unpacking change from a bank bag too. I will never darken this Subway door again. Seems like owners might have a «no phone» rule.

When hunger struck I was near a different location, but drove to this one. I always speak Spanish with the ladies and the guy with gauges is very amiable. Always tasty sandwiches and clean. Come here.

Features a live band during lunch hour, valet parking, shoe shine stand, and complementary newspapers. NO, not really, just a typical subway…

It has a great location, even though it sticks out a bit for the neighborhood. Going west on Holcombe towards Bellaire it is conveniently after Spec’s so you can stop for your buckets of moderately-​priced liquor and then again down the block for a reasonably priced sandwich. The location just works like that.
As far as your standard Subways go, it suffers the parking lot problems since it is surrounded by other businesses and their customers. Can’t totally ding them for that. The food inside is very predictable as well, it is sandwichy stuff. The lines move reasonably quickly but there has never been an incredibly busy event at least when I have been there — so that is a benefit of other places nearby, people might go there and not be in front of me in line here.
It’s not the best sandwich in the world but it is cheap, won’t take a lot of time to procure if you can find a parking spot, and it will likely take you more time to get back onto Holcombe than it will have taken you inside to get your sandwich and pay for it.

The food always sems fresh. Ate here several times.

It’s a franchise restaurant. You know what you’re getting, food-​wise. In my experience (currently around ten visits to this location), it’s clean and the service is excellent. The staff is professional, efficient, and friendly. They’ll speak to you in English, Spanish, or both. It’s not even a tiny bit «ghetto» (not even «barrio»). This is one of the better franchise locations.

While I was making my order I saw a bug crawling out the meat area and the employee just swatted it out the way and assumed I didn’t see anything. What kind of BS was that?! This is the only healthy place in that intersection so I have no choice but to eat here. This happened to me twice so just waiting on the three strikes and I’m out!

Yummy subs as in any subway, but they also have veggie patty! First time we’ve seen it in Houston and my it’s my wife’s favorite. She loved it…
