I’ve never been big on those fast food chain outlets, but I find Smashburger to be the exception. They have a consistently good burger regardless of the location. I love their buns and the smash fries are fantastic. This is a burger I crave if I do not have one over a period of time.

Fine place to stop for fast food with flair… not really the place for burger connoisseurs or meatmongers(really, I just liked this place ’cause they had sweet potato fries). They had chicken burgers, salads, all with a «local»(i.e., supposedly Texan) flair, but most of the other patrons didn’t really look like they could tell a round from a shank. FOOD — 4 stars ===== 1. Avocado Club Burger w/Sweet Potato Fries 2. Spicy Baja Black Bean Burger w/Smashfries(rosemary, olive oil, garlic) 3. Texas Hot Dog SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE — 4 stars ==================== Friendly, fast service! The restaurant was a burger joint trying to toe the line between trendy-hip and fast food chain: instead of plastic booths, they had cushioned booths – instead of paper trays they had metal grill-like things. Sure, whatever – too bad you’re closed now. NOTE: I know this place is closed, but I figure they’re a chain so my review is still good. Also, I came here on 8÷4÷2012, so I know this review is hella late!

I finally know why this place is called Smashburger! Overall, I’m not impressed and disappointed after seeing such great pictures of this place from friends. The patties were extremely oily and toppings were meh. I think the fries were okay too, can’t remember(aka not memorable enough). I came here because I had a Groupon and definitely wouldn’t pay full price for this. Save your money — go to Burger Palace!(not too far from this location)

An average burger house. This is by no means a 5 guys burgers! The restrooms were in horrible condition and I quickly walked out. The burger business is too competitive to have average burgers and dirty restrooms.

This place was pretty decent. The main reason I visited Smashburger is because their menu(online and on site) says gives the option of «lettuce» as a ‘bun’ that you can choose. So I was assuming that they had some sort of lettuce wrap bun hamburger. Something similar to Carls Jr low carb burger. When I walked into Smashburger, the place looks very clean. The lady who took my order was pleasant and cheerful. She understood my order when I placed it. I placed a ‘lettuce bun’ hamburger with no cheese, avacado and fried egg. I am following a paleo eating style so I don’t eat cheese and bread and other things. What I got was a hamburger patty with a fried egg, a piece of lettuce folded in half and some slices of avacado on the side. I asked the lady if my order was correct, she said it was so I ate my food and left. I was disappointed that they offer lettuce as a bun option but don’t give you enough lettuce to cover the top and bottom of the meat. The burger plus a ice tea cost around 10 dollars. I can’t imagine what a person would have paid if they had ordered fries.

The mushroom Swiss and pepper jack are the best burgers here. The smash fries are OK I guess, there is nothing that great about them. The shakes are pretty amazing though, be sure to get a nutter butter one!

How can a burger chain be any good, it’s like saying knock off’s are almost as good as the real deal. Well somehow Smash is doing something amazing, the optional toppings are just fun to mix and match to whatever you order. Egg on chicken, Avacado and bacon on burger(Healthy vs phatty, get it???). Of course it is no where near the best burger, but it’s pretty darned good for a knock off home style burger place.

I came here on a Friday night and was very satisfied with my food! The burgers were soo greasy but completely amazing. I love their egg buns. I had the mushroom swiss burger with Smashfries. To be honest, I’m really not a fan of the rosemary in their fries and the next time I go, I’ll just get their regular french fries. But overall, the greasy, delicious burger made my day! ** On a side note, the staff there was unorganized and at best, confused. They tried to serve us milkshakes twice before I told them we had never ordered any. My conscience is the worst, I know. Next time I’ll just accept it. And also, my friend’s burger was PINK in the middle. Not well-done, but completely raw! The cashier gave her $ 5 smashbucks for compensation though.

While a tad expensive, these are SOLIDLY good burgers and made quickly in a clean environment. A good 2nd place to my 5 Guys for favorites. Only complaint was that the Smash Fries were a bit greasy. Had the Spicy Baja and it was fantastic.

Smashburger was nothing special for somewhere that specializes in hamburgers. We walked in at 6pm and were immediately notified by an employee that we would have to wait because she was the ONLY one working in the whole place. Very strange for a dinner rush time, right? After about five minutes we were able to order two create your own Smash sized burgers, sweet potato fries, fried pickles, and two drinks. I have no major complaints about the food, but nothing struck me as exceptional. My lemonade tasted like plain water, not all of my requested toppings came out on my Smash, and the meat itself had very little flavor. The first two of these problems could easily be fixed by adding more attentive staff. Im glad we arrived when we did because the restaurant quickly filled and people were visibly agitated by the lack of service. Given the strange no employee circumstance, I would maybe be willing to give it a try again but I definitely won’t be recommending this to anyone for a gourmet burger. The fried pickles were quite tasty though.

When I come here, I usually order to go for myself and two other people, so I can’t comment on the ambiance of the place. Nonetheless, it is very clean and the service has always been very good. From the cashier to the people who bring you your food, they make sure everything is satisfactory and to your liking. So far I’ve had the Classic, Spicy Baja, and the BBQ, bacon, and cheddar Smashburgers. The Spicy Baja is my favorite. It’s spicy and flavorful. Their patties are a little bit greasy. However, it didn’t detract from the taste. Their classic egg bun is soft and it compliments the burger, unlike the buns from other fast food joints. Also, I really like their pickles. Usually at fast food joints, the pickles are cut thin and they’re sour. But here, they are nice and thick and they don’t taste like they’ve been sitting in pickle juice for the past year. I love their fries. I can never decide whether to order the smash fries or the sweet potato fries. They’re both so good! I love rosemary so I’m completely sold on their smash fries. They are crispy and delicious. The sweet potato fries are just as good; they’re crispy and sweet. The one thing I didn’t like was the Haystack onions; they were cut too thin and there was too much batter. You had to grab a lot to taste anything other than the grease. The sauce that came with it was pretty good though. The milkshakes are really good too. Especially the Haagen-Dazs shakes!

Been to lunch here a few times. The service is always, and I mean always, excellent! The cashier, the people who bring your food, and the person who checks up on you; always polite and always have a smile. The food is pretty good, too. I’ve gotten burgers and hot dogs, tried a little of everything. The fries I’m not too big a fan of, though. I like to stick with just a classic burger with everything on it :) They get kind of packed during lunch, though, so sometimes the line is kind of long. But the food comes out quick, so that makes up for it. Edit; totally forgot about the mint oreo milkshake. RECOMMEND!

I know everyone has their favorite hamburger place. All I have to say about Smashburger is, every time I go its amazing. Not only that, but its fairly priced and just around the corner for most. Go here if you like: — Making a custom hamburger, they have toppings galore — real ice cream shakes — diet-conscious but want some satisfying flavor Only thing I don’t like, which is probably not Smashburger’s fault — I always make a huge mess when eating the hamburgers here. Maybe I ask for too many toppings, maybe I’m a messy eater… I don’t know. BUT, it does taste gooood no matter how much I mutilate it while eating. The salads here are also really good. I haven’t tried the Smashchicken sandwiches yet but I hear they are good as well. The Smashfries are AWESOME little, deep fried, thin cut beauties covered in seasoning that you can’t get anywhere else. There is something for everyone here and its definitely a great spot to go for a quick but yummy eat.

This may seem blasphemous to some, but I just do not enjoy Smashburger as much as Beck’s Prime. There, I said it. Please don’t throw rotten tomatoes at me. I’ve been dying to try this place since I saw it had opened, and when I finally did, I was more than disappointed. I don’t eat beef or burgers, which I realize is considered a character flaw by some, especially you burger fanatics(man, you people are worse than Scientologists!) HOWEVER, I feel that this does not disqualify me from reviewing a burger restaurant so just hear me out. I had what I think was called the Baja California chicken sandwich. It was a grilled chicken breast with avocado, tomato, lettuce, etc. and some spicy sauce which was more like mayonnaise and less like ANYTHINGRESEMBLINGSPICY. It was messy. It was dry. It was not delicious. I was more excited than anything to try their sweet potato fries. I LOVE sweet potatoes. I would eat them in a boat, in a car, on a train, on a plane. I would eat them here or there, I would eat them ANYWHERE! Except here. They were soggy and too peppery. Boo.(PS– Beck’s Prime has some GREAT sweet potato fries!) My boyfriend got the Angus chili and veggie frittes. He enjoyed the frittes but barely touched his chili. He said that he was also unimpressed. Our meal cost as much as a real sit-down dining establishment, but for a fast food quality meal. Catch ya later, Smashburger. I’ll be over here at Beck’s Prime eating some GOOD food.

My wife and I kept seeing Smashburger locations here and there and finally decided to check them out. The place was clean and the lines moved fast, but it sort of had a Starbucks vibe to it. Our food made it to us very quickly. I ordered the Baja burger and thought it was a tad on the greasy side but very flavorful. My wife had ordered some BBQ burger and wasn’t too impressed — she’s a very finicky eater though so that isn’t surprising. The fries. Hmm, what to say about the fries. They were cooked well but I thought the rosemary was a tad overpowering. My wife didn’t care for the fries at all. Overall, I prefer Five Guys to this place. Not bad, but I don’t think I’d eat here again for this one reason(and the reason why I rated them so low): TMITIME! Let’s just say about an hour after eating at Smashburger, the food wanted to make a RAPID exit down south. NEVER a good sign!

I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. Yes, it was a pretty good burger. But it’s not to die for. I’ve had better burgers and local hole in the wall places that don’t make a big deal about their burger. It stays together nice, it’s not too greasy, not too dry. The fries were cooked evenly and I kept eating them even thought I was full! I really liked that they have a burger that specifically comes without tomatoes. I hate tomatoes and it was cool to not have to ask for No Tomatoes. It’s pretty affordable as well. I’m not in love with Smashburger but it’s a place that I think I’d always be in the mood for if there was a huge car of people trying to decide where to go.

Dear Smashburger, I am in love. You have captured my heart and I didn’t even know it was for sale. Your fries, with the rosemary, all crunchy– a dream come to life. Your mushroom swiss burger, divine. Atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Why do you not have any locations in Katy? Can you change that? I must be near you. I don’t want you as a treat, I want you as a weekly routine. Awaiting your arrival, Me

Just ate lunch here for the first time today after hearing lots of hype. I had the swiss mushroom burger with the multi-grain bun and smashfries. I loved it! The burger patty was juicy, flavorful and didn’t have that pre-formed«I’ve been sitting in the freezer waiting for someone to eat me» look/shape. Lots of mushrooms, and who doesn’t love melted swiss cheese? It was a little greasy, but that’s to be expected. The fries were great and smelled wonderful from the rosemary/garlic/herbs. They were crunchy and hot. I like how they they have multiple choices for cheese and buns, too. It was«fast» food-ish, so I can’t really critique the service, but they were friendly and the food came out promptly. I can’t wait to go back and try another burger!

I went here today and it was amazingly good! Yes, it costs more than McDonald’s next door, but defiantly worth it! I had the 1⁄3 lb Swiss Mushroom Burger with fresh jalapeños, Smash Fries(these are to die for!), and a vanilla shake. Burger was very nice & juicy with crispy edges from the smashing. The bun was soft & tasty. The Smash fries are the best I’ve ever had! And the Vanilla shake was smooth & sweet. You must try this place!

We were heading to Smashburger and SMASH! We witness a car accident and have to call 911.(Everyone was ok) So, we don’t get to Smashburger until 9:35pm. We were welcomed which was nice; no nasty looks because we got there right before closing(they close at 10pm). We ordered 2 smashchicken burgers, fries, haystack onions, and 2 sodas. The chicken sandwiches were fine. The onion strings and french fries were SALTY! We have eaten here before and found the added bacon on the sandwiches to be salty, so we didn’t get it this time. Now, this time the side orders were super salty. I feel myself bloating and retaining water as I write this! I’m a little worried for this branch of the chain. For $ 21, I should have moisture sucking salty fries. Come on SmashBurger, I know you can do better than this!
