My kids like their kolachee but they’re so expensive. They are busy so service is so so. Myself, I prefer Dawn Donuts on Sabo and beltway 8, same strip center as quizno. Their kolachee are lots better and less expensive. Always got great services from.

Went there this morning order a few items one being a filled bar. When my daughter woke I cut it in half for us to share. When she was chewing a bite of hers she found a piece of glass. When I took it back up to the shop to make sure they investigate and make sure no one else gets a piece in their donut. I didn’t receive an apology, that should have been the first thing I heard. The manager Gabriella Perez did my seem to concerned and definitely not apologetic. No apology at all. I called their corporate office to make sure they investigate and Ron was very apologetic and assured me they would investigate.

Before visiting Houston I had never tried, heard, known of a «kolache.» Similar to Boudin Balls in Louisiana, it’s a regional specialty that is completely unbeknownst to the rest of the world. After hearing some recommendations that this was the best place, I decided to try my first cheese and hot dog kolache. Then I had my second one. Then my third and then I tried some of their original glazed donuts. I did all of this in a span of 10 minutes and I don’t regret one minute of the subsequent belly aching. Kolaches are delicious and I am saddened I cannot find them anywhere else beyond Houston. It was an excellent introduction to a local cuisine and for a place that made me wait a good 15 – 20 minutes before we could order, I take it Shipley’s is one of the best.
