I love Roatan, I think is the most descent Honduran restaurant in Houston(the other ones looks like cantinas) …The best plate is Pollo con tajadas. The only complain is that their menu doesn’t have variety like carne guisada, bistec encebollado or with tomato, sopa de res, sopa de pollo… But over all a good place to go with you family!!!

Food is amazing here. My only concern is the cleanlines of the restaurant. In a recent trip here i had a bug crawl out of the table.

First impression. Went to wash hands in the restroom and there was a gigantic turd floating in the toilet. Based on the good reviews we were hoping for a good meal. Unfortunately the food was very bad. There was not one thing on either of our plates that was good. We ended up leaving half of our food on the plate and just asked for the bill so we could leave and get something else to eat at another place. I do not recommend this place.

WAIT. What? I came here at 9pm on a Saturday and they refused to serve my boyfriend and I! When I ordered food at the counter a young woman shook her head at me in silence when I ordered I said«it’s 9pm»(they closed at 10pm) and she just glared until we just had to walk out the door! Bizarre.

THAT was delish! Sooo glad we trusted Unilocal, because this place looks like a hole in the wall. Very clean, though. Get the passion fruit orange juice… Mmmmmm. Hubby & I will definitely be back.

This place is decent. I had the steak which was well cooked and tostones. If I order from them again I will probably order something else. The food was not horrible by any means, I’ve just had better. With that, i wouldn’t discourage anyone from checking this place out.

My husband and i found this place on Unilocal whilst looking for somewhere to eat on highway 6. From the outside, this place looks grubby and a little rundown, we very nearly turned away from it. My husband is Latin so i am used to eating Latin food. This was BYFAR, THEBEST Latin food i have eaten! The old Mama from the kitchen served the food to us, full of pride. She was super sweet and attentive. We didn’t leave a bite… In fact I am still dreaming about it today. I would definitely recommend it, not for the frills and the beautiful setting, bu for the amazing tasting food and homey feel to the place

First time trying Honduran. It was excellent. Had the carne asada and my daughter had the sambo creek fried chicken. Carne asada was seasoned well and delicious. Cabbage salad was pretty great as well and fried plantains. The sambo creek chicken comes with some kind of orange sauce that’s sweet and really goes well with the crispy chicken. My daughter is a picky eater and she cleaned the plate.

Pretty good — first time here. Honduran café. I didn’t know what to expect. It’s what you would think of island, Latin & South American cuisine. Chimichurri, coconut, plantains, limes, beans… My mom & sister would like this place! Great menu(fish, shrimp, chicken, beef, serves breakfast all day)! I would definitely go back.

It was my first time trying Honduran food in Houston and it was amazing, I had the«Carne Asada» it was delicious it came with plantains, avocado, cabbage and chimichurri. Definitely I’ll come back to try the Baleadas for breakfast and the«Sopa de Caracol». I took to go the«Zambos»(spicy plantain chips) for my cousin and the«Banana Tropical».

I had the pollo frito and my boyfriend had the carne asada. We both agreed it was the best fried chicken and skirt steak we have ever had. Everything was soooo delicious, we have driven past this place a thousand times and are now sad thinking about all of the times we could have eaten here but didn’t know what we were missing! We also had coffee and our total was only $ 23 before tip. I don’t know how it could get better than that!

Definitely a great spot for lunch! New office location for me means new restaurants to try! I came here with my coworker and we ordered the Carne asada. He doesn’t like beef but they made an exception and got him a plate with chicken instead. Nice! We both had the mirinda orange soda drink and it was good. The service was strange as we weren’t immediately seated, but when we were seated everything was spot on. The Carne Asada was delicious! Beef tasted fresh and cooked properly. I was happy. For dessert we had the horchatta? drink. Good choice! If you are in the area and are looking for a really good spot for lunch, definitely check this location out!

Delicious! Short of going to the north coast in Honduras, this makes me feel so at home food wise! A must in the area.

I’ve never tried a pupusa and my boyfriend ordered pork(chicharron) for us and they were so delicious! They give you a container of some kind of cabbage topping and some red sauce to dump over the pupusas, make a big mess and chow down! He also tore up a fried tilapia but that’s not my cup of tea. I got a chicken empanada to try and it was different from the Mexican ones I grew up on but delicious and mustard-y! Try it! It’s so cheap you can try different items.

I’m from LA and I come to visit my family often. Unfortunately they don’t go out much but this place caught my eye every time I would drive down Highway 6. After my third visit to Texas I finally got them to come with me. Hands down this place was amazing. Being Honduran, the minute I saw sopa de caracol I had to get it and it was everything I wanted. The wait for the food was bad but the food made up for it. I cannot believe my family has never been here(they live 5 minutes away from it) I am going to miss it once my vacation ends. ‘Till next time :)

La comida es muy buena, aunque no me gustó la espera. Y para rematar quedé con ganas de café. De todas maneras lo recomiendo. El servicio fue amigable.

Great food and super friendly. Been here for dinner and breakfast, and both were amazing! Presentation was even great, and tasted as good as it looked! They even have cappuccinos and expressos. Definitely have to check them out!

Great Honduran restaurant tucked inbetween a Haitian church and a furniture store. A friend I was traveling to Htown with is Honduran and she was craving her homeland food when we found this place and decided we’d make a pit stop here on our way back to Austin. I was new to Honduran food but I got to know it with a quickness. Baleadas especial: basically a large flour tortilla stuffed with beef, eggs, avocado, cheese and crema and folded in half. It’s huge. I thought it was going to be small but the diameter of the tortilla was around 8 inches across. The tortilla was fluffy, fatty and it served as a great vessel to shovel everything else in my mouth. There was a soft cheese in there that had a slight funky taste but apparently that’s how the cheese tastes. I tried my friend’s enchilada and it was great. The plate comes with two large«enchiladas» covered in a cabbage pickle slaw, pico and cheese. I like how the acidity of the slaw cuts the fatty enchilada. I also ordered the huevos rancheros which had a great sauce! The plate also came with refried red beans, plantains and cheese. I was already full from the baleadas so I took most of this home. Other tips: –what looks like crema is called mantequilla(I know, mantequilla is usually butter, but that’s how the Honduran’s roll, man) –their«flautas» are tostadas at mexican restaurants. –their«enchiladas» are flautas at mexican restaurants. Service was friendly, albeit a little slow on a Sunday morning.

Love this place. I have come here twice already. The first time I came I wanted to check in but they did not have a Unilocal profile yet. Honduran to the max. All their dishes taste good. The menu is somewhat limited, but if you ask them they’ll even make you Honduran dishes that are not on the menu. My dad loves this place so much, he’s been coming consistently ever since they opened. He has tried everything on the menu already! The Tajadas con Carne are very tasty, so are Enchiladas. Best horchata as well, since the mexican style is different than the one they make in Honduras, this is by far the closest I have had. Of course, it goes without saying that if you’re going to eat at a Honduran restaurant, you should always order a Baleada. Their Baleadas are really darn good, too. Next time, I am going to order a Yuca con Chicharron. It’s not on the menu, but I was already told they can make it. Look forward to trying everything on the menu and many, many more visits!
