Food here is decent, not bad but Phở Dung on Veterans Memorial is so much better. You would think they have the same recipe since it’s a franchise. At this location it doesn’t come out piping hot like the other location. Probably still the best phở place if you’re around that area.

I’ve only had the phở here… can’t complain spacious, clean, fast… and the phở’s broth is not greasy at all… 4 in my book

I’ve been going to Phở Dung for a while because it’s near my boyfriend’s house, but this time. it took a turn for the worse. The phở broth wasn’t flavorful. It was bland compared to other phở locations. The noodle to meat ratio was off. I got so much noodle, but the meat was scarce. There were also meat in the bowl that were really dark in color(like it was old meat) and had an oily residue to it. That scared me a bit and I lost my appetite after that. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back after this. I feel like this establishment is going downhill and as much as I want to support them. I just can’t. Their food use to be decent, but lately. it seems business has slowed and their quality of food has been effected by it as well.

Great bun bo hue!!! First time coming here we were actually trying to go to a neighboring restaurant that serves bun Bo hue but they were closed. So we tried here and their bun no hue was excellent. We haven’t tried anything else because we were hungry for only that but we plan to go back because their food seems really good so far.

I’m Viet. I’m used to Viet restaurants with bad service– that’s just the way it is. This place has EXCEPTIONALLYBAD service. They started out OK. The last time we ate there, someone ordered the Com Bo Luc Lac. It was your average sized plate with about the same amount of meat as any other place. We ate there on Sunday, and the plate was cut down to less than half. We literally counted 6 tiny pieces of meat next to the rice. The plate was the same price. The wait staff is rude and acts like we should be honored to eat there. When we asked her about it, she said that we needed to go ask the kitchen. ??? Really? Go ask the Kitchen??? The phở was mediocre. Do yourself a favor and stick to the Phở Dung on Veterans or another restaurant altogether for phở. Tau Ngo on Gears has great rice plates for your buck and lunch menus. This place is a joke, and I would never eat there again.

The food was ok. I had the clear noodles with chicken, pork and shrimp. You really can’t mess noodle soups especially when the sauces and lime are added to the end product. Food wasn’t flavorful but it was horrible. If you don’t speak Vietnamese you are in trouble. Our eggrolls came out and we had to ask for appetizer plates. Our server brought one for 3 people. After he dropped off our soups he never came back to check on us, not even to bring the bill.

Very average. Broth in the Phở was really sweet for some reason and their spring rolls were nothing special. Probably won’t be returning here. Phở Dalat is much better.

I came here again a few weeks ago. The crawfish wasn’t as great as I had remembered but it was still good. There’s not as much of that«sauce» and garlic as I remembered from my first visit. I always tell them I want«spicy garlic» but it’s really never as spicy as I’d like for it to be. I still come though since LA Crawfish and Jolynn’s is too far from where I live. The size of the crawfish were good, they just need to take it up a notch with their garlic and spices like the first time I dined there. :)

This location is big, lots of table and quick food bring out. We love bun suong here, broth tastes wonderful. Crawfish is yum yum too, they just take order of 2 lbs and more. It belongs to a Vietnamese building with market, Bambu drink, tofu… It gets crowded after church hours on Sunday. Service here is a minus. When we walk in, an old guy ask us how many people we have and point a table and guess wat throw menus in front of us. He was so rude and impolite. When I went to restroom, I take a brief look inside kitchen, it is pretty in neat, that’s a good thing for me. Would come back when we get a chance!!!

Meh, iz ohk. You have the staple Vietnamese food of Phở, grilled pork with rice and«that vietnamese fish sauce» that accompanies them, vermicelli bowls, egg rolls etc. Typical Asian service here… you know what I mean, just bring your glass to the register while trying not to choke on your food. Parking is a hit or miss since it is flanked on both sides by busier businesses. Prices are on par with the average Vietnamese restaurants of this type. If you need your Phở’ or Grilled Pork and rice fix you can get that here but if you want stellar food and service you will not be disappointed if you keep poking around the area.

I forgot to submit this one, so it’s a lil old… I came here Feb. 2013. I went with my sister who never had Phở before. I felt like crap & figured a good bowl of Phở would help me out. Our waiter was very patient & explained the menu to her. He made some good suggestions. Great service! Food comes hot, fresh, & fast! He stopped to check on us to make sure we were ok & that my sis was enjoying her meal. The night we stopped in it was a rainy kinda day so it was pretty empty. Plus I didn’t realize we came in approx 15 min. before closing. Sorry guys :-) But even still the staff was nice & they were sitting down as a group enjoying a nice pile of shrimp & a few brews. Can’t be mad at that… only take away was the price seemed a lil steep. I’ve not been to a Phở shop in a while so it could be on target. All in all it was a good experience & I plan on giving them a few more visits for sure.

Loud services! I felt like they’re yelling on top of their lungs. Nice flavor, but I did not like my order. I ordered Banh Canh Gio Heo, it’s turned out like Bun Suong. The only different is the noodles. Yes, I had«banh canh» noodle, but they put chicken, shrimp ball, couple shrimps and pork in it. Ok, my order should go with pork, but the others… nah. I think I can make a much much better«banh canh» than that. My husband ordered Phở and I think they do a better job on that. However, we still refer Phở Danh. I don’t think we want to come back

I usually give a place at least a 2nd chance but as far as the crawfish go there is no way I can do that here. They pour some kind of garlic butter over them after they are boiled. It is a greasy mess to get to flavorless meat. I realize that pinching tails and sucking heads is a sloppy business but Phở Dung 3 has turned it into a very unpleasant experience.

Overpriced, not a lot of offerings, no lunch menu, and the staff wasn’t very friendly. I ordered some egg rolls with my dish and they tasted as if they’d been fried in fish oil. I know, I know… if I want egg rolls, I should probably go somewhere else. My stomach was turning flips after this outing(and my co-worker’s, too). No seconds for me here.

When it’s cold and rainy like today, I’m in the mood for phở and in no mood for experimenting around with different restaurants. I heard about the grand opening here and had to check out Phở Dung 3 since I’m a regular at Phở Dung 2 and love their phở and rice dishes there. Figured this should be a good gamble to warm up my cold belly. Houston Press made a mention that the original one in Alief isn’t known for phở, but has excellent rice dishes. They must be doing something right with their phở to open a 3rd location, especially on Tomball Parkway along the multitudes of phở and Vietnamese restaurants. Came by and saw the grand opening banner: free ice tea and soft drinks. So far so good. This location is much larger than #2 with more TVs all around. Décor isn’t much different. Service is quick. Phở comes out right away steaming hot. Got my usual bowl of phở with rare beef strips on a separate plate. Broth was just excellent as usual. Nice sweet flavorful broth seasoned perfectly with star anise, cinnamon, and soup bones. Since the broth is still steaming hot, I add in the beef strips and eat it one by one so I can taste how this phở is in its naked element. Once the broth simmers a bit, I add in the rest of the raw beef to let it cook and then start adding Sriracha, lime, pepper, jalapenos, basil(by this time, I’m already halfway through the bowl). I continue to titrate until I’m done with the bowl. Good to the last drop(literally). And my Coke was free today! Much different than Phở Dung 2? Naw, it’s pretty much identical, which isn’t a bad thing. I’ll be back! 5 stars!
