Bun bo hue has always been my favorite growing up. I try it at any Vietnamese place that serves it, and I can say this place is worth coming back to! It was soooo good. They have a small or large. Don’t let it fool you, the small is like a typical large and the large is just plain massive. It was very flavorful. The avocado smoothie was also one of the best I’ve had. The restaurant is a little small, but is worth the wait. Service could be better, but it wasn’t awful. I’d love to come back again whenever I’m in the area.

I wanted an order of fried rice with tofu but what I envisioned was nothing like what I received. The fried rice was dry and stale. The tofu was battered and fried but very flavorless. The added red and green bell peppers didn’t do much help either. I believe I paid around $ 10 for this crap and I will definitely not return. The next time I have a taste for Vietnamese food I’ll stick to Bouray’s downtown.

Usually this place is my go to for bun Bo hue. Flavor of the soup is usually on point.. My subtraction of stars is due to the fact that the last TWO times we ordered to go, our noodles came like bite sized. prechopped and broken to pieces. First time we let it go and gave them the benefit of the doubt. maybe it was a one time thing. The second time, We called to ask them about it and were told that this is how the noodles cooked up. If this is the case with some sort of new brand of noodles they are using then it is time to switch back to the old brand of non breaking into a billion pieces kinda noodle. my ratings will change when the noodles do. Hate to give 3 stars to such a yummy soup. Disappointed.

Really good Bun Bo Hue. The food didn’t fill me up but still a good place just for this type of bowl of noodles if you’re craving spicy soup! Next time, I come into Houston, i’ll order the biggest bowl they have.

Ate here since nearby church but it was very good! They have all the elements of how spicy bun bo beef noodle shouls be. The slice beef, pork hock and lots of herbs. It costs pretty similar for ingredients to make at home

This one is good, but I feel like the one in Bellaire is better. Just a preference I guess? I go to this one every now and then since it’s about 10 – 12 minutes away from work, it makes it a lot easier to satisfy my craving especially on cold days. It is smaller than the Bellaire location and tends to get crowded during lunch time so try & come by 11am. I actually had to wait this time for a table, around 5 minutes. I do feel like the chili sauce(sate) is much spicier here than at the Bellaire location, maybe just different people making different batches. Who knows, overall it’s a solid place for some BBH and I am a returning customer.

This is the best BBH joint in Houston. I like the flavor of the broth, but I got to say that lately the taste of the broth isn’t as flavorful as back in the day, but it’s still the best place to get BBH. It’s not the cleanest place. The tables and chairs sometimes have some dirty residue from the previous occupants. The service is quick and during lunch it would be super busy and sometimes there’s a wait, but it’s not a long wait. perhaps 10mins. Overall, if I’m craving for BBH then I would come here. A small bowl always fills me up. There’s plenty of noodles and meat. The veggies aren’t always fresh, but still edible. Only wish it was consistent, but other than that. I’ll eat here.

In my quest to find the greatest bowl of bun bo hue, I finally made it to this location. I ordered a small bowl and found the soup to be bland and boring. I had to add a lot of crushed red chile paste to it to make it spicy. The service was pretty slow for the time I went, at an off hour on a Saturday with only 3 other customers.

Only place I go to for bun Bo hue. So flavorful! Warning a large is REALLY big. I can’t even finish a small bowl.

ROACHINMYFOOD! DIRTYGERMANROACH!!! And when i confronted the owner for my money back, she acted so nonchelaunt about the whole thing and said it was an «accident». yeeeeeahhhh one EFFED up accident! Her expression seem to be so normal to have german roaches in people’s food.

Upon being seated, you’re supposed to notify the server if you want a large or a small bowl. As the other reviews have mentioned, there’s only these two options on the menu besides the various options of beverages. If you’re ordering a «large bowl» be prepared for a very massive proportion of food. The broth was okay in my opinion, it wasn’t anything memorable. I wouldn’t drink all the broth either, it seemed very oily/fatty. The reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because of the service. When interacting with the servers, it felt as if my family and I were inconveniencing them. The service makes such a difference to a customer’s experience and this place gave me a bad impression.

This is the go to place for Bun Bo Hue. no one can beat them. Their nuoc mat is amazing. the food speaks for itself. they would get a five star review. if their staff was a little nicer or friendlier. They like to do their own thing. they might refill your water, but it is highly unlikely.

Bun bo isn’t usually my first choice of noodles to eat but this place didn’t disappoint. I was really impressed with the broth and I’m sure to go back again. I think they only sell this type of noodles and now I agree that it works. They know what they are doing there. The service was friendly and fast. My friend Andy says to the waiter, «2 large» and the waiter says«2 regular?» Andy says«is there a special version?» The waiter says«no just regular»…lol. Then I guess we’ll have two regular then. By the way be careful with that oily hot paste on the table, it’s really spicy. I only added a very small amount and my lips started to burn. I really recommend this place!

YES. A bowl of Bun bo hue that does not disappoint. I love the flavor and aroma of the broth. I’ve had such bad BBH at random houston restaurants that when you finally get a bowl of legit BBH, my eyes opened up and all my senses were happy! The salad that came with your bowl was fresh and they provided plenty. The large bowl is really big so I just shared with my mom. This place specializes in one thing and its BBH. The menu is super easy, small or large bowl. Enjoy!

First of all I was excited to find a place that specialized in just Bun Bo Hue! I’ve read that the service is non attentive but in my experience I can say I somewhat see that. I was there around 3pm to beat or more of waited till the crowd died down. Ordered a small which came out to be a large in most places. The larger bowl they have is a gigantic bowl. Any who the noodles were a bit hard. For a non busy place this was a huge disappointment. The broth was OK, I just thought ok well this place only sells one thing. This will be the best Bun Bo Hue ever! But I am sadly to say this is not. I heard the location around Chinatown is better. Maybe I will have a better experience.

I like the food but the service and attitude of this place is terrible. They don’t really need customers, or that’s how they make me feel. They don’t care if you buy, if you don’t somebody else will kinda attitude. Not sure if it’s the best business practice, but they do have good Bun Bo Hue. I honestly have not found any place that specialize in Bun Bo Hue around Houston, north or south, so I come here once in a while. But two times in a roll I came here this week they are closed with no sign or announcement. Again, they don’t need customers :) Not sure how to judge this situation. Just like discount stores or Walmart, people come regardless of how terrible service or bad products may be. Not saying that I don’t like Walmart, I just feel bad for people who work there, but that’s out of the topic.

They changed their owners again. The front and back of the house is completely revamped. Service is extremely slow and food takes long to come out. We came and it was a full house, but the wait was about 15 minutes because we came at the end of the peak hours which is around 2PM. The bun was too hard because they were in a rush, but the broth was good and light compared to the other locations. Had it been for the softer bun, I would have highly recommend it minus the slow service.

Awesome place to get Bún bò Hu(BBH) in the North West side of Houston. This place only serves one thing, and that’s BBH. Quality of the soup is top notch and serving size is generous. For a size reference, a large bowl can literally fit your entire face. Although the bowl may look huge, it’s possible to finish it in one sitting because most of it is comprised of soup and noodles. There are pieces of sliced beef, cha lua, and congealed pig blood in there as well, but not too much. Note: You can opt out of the pig blood if you prefer. A portion of «pig’s knuckle bone-in» is included as well if you order«Regular» style. For those first timers who never had BBH before, I highly recommend it but it’s geared towards the adventurous type. BBH is a traditional noodle soup made with beef based broth with various traditional Vietnamese seasonings such as lemongrass and fermented shrimp paste/sauce, Like I mentioned earlier, it does include beef, cha lua(which is kind of like a Vietnamese spam, but it’s actually a Vietnamese pork roll), and cubed shaped congealed pig blood, Don’t let the ingredients scare you though because it’s you never know how awesome it taste until you try it. The music here reminds me of my Junior high school years — nothing but trance. I’m almost tempted to bust out my glow sticks and start raving as I eat, but that wouldn’t be appropriate. $ 10.83 for a large bowl of Bún bò Hu. Tip not included in price.

Being that the only item they serve is Bun Bo Hue(so don’t ask for a menu), it makes it easy to expect a lot from this place — I was not disappointed. They ask you 2 questions and then you’re on your own: 1) Do you want a small or large bowl 2) What do you want to drink The small bowl is a pretty decent size(about the size of a regular bowl of phở, if not a little bigger) and the large bowl is huge(larger than an extra large bowl of phở). Gauge your appetite accordingly. The broth is flavorful and loaded with A LOT of meats. The beef slices were thinly cut and tender, which is sometimes hard to find in Southern California. The pig feet were well-cooked because the meat was tender and fell off the bone, not chewy like some places. They were also clean in the sense that there was no residual fur on the skin. The noodles were also well-cooked and were not overly hard or soggy. They give you a huge plate of fresh vegetables and lemon to mix with your bun and they have sate on the table so that you can set your own spice level. I only had water to drink but saw that there were a variety of teas and boba drinks. Service was fast and efficient — similar to most Vietnamese restaurants. For a restaurant out in suburbia, I really liked this place.
