Don’t sleep on Payless! LOL! If you’re a TRUE style maven or you simply love shoes as much as I do(I am a certified shoe addict with 200+ pairs and counting), then you can rock footwear at any price point and still look good. I browse this location about once a month without any expectations. This isn’t the same Payless store that many of us grew up with, where your mother had to drag you in to get your foot {re}sized for a new pair of patent leather Mary Janes for Christmas or Resurrection Sunday.(And don’t forget the frilly white socks with the lace and pearls on them). Ugh. I appreciate the fact that Payless has stayed true to what it knows best, but I’m glad the brand has evolved to offer more than socks, shoe polish and laces at the front of the store. They are now best known for their recurring BOGO(buy one, get one 50% off) sales and summer footwear options. If you’re looking for cute, casual and inexpensive sandals, peep toe flats or strappy-wedge heels for your next vacation, cruise or BBQ, it’s worth giving this store a look. You never know what you may find. There is also a Christian Siriano(from the show«Project Runway») collection for Payless that I knew nothing about until I started stopping in from time-to-time. There are some really stylish and trendy options that are along the same as Target, and even DSW, within this collection. And all you big-foot Bettys, they’ve got you covered, too, with wider sizes. What surprised me most about Payless is that they have some pretty decent accessories. If there’s anything I love more than shoes, it’s accessorizing. It’s not often, but you may find some really cute bangles or earrings. Such was the case when I found a pair of bronze-colored flower-shaped studs(very vintage-inspired, if I must say so) and they happened to be on sale. I spent about $ 5 on them, including tax(say whaaaat??). Hashtag WINNING! There is usually only one salesperson working the entire store, and they are usually busy re-stocking and putting away boxes. The young lady was still helpful enough when I inquired about a pair of faux python sandals from the Siriano collection that I was unable to find in my size. Turns out some lucky gal(s) already grabbed them so it was suggested that I try online.
