Imagine you’re standing in a McDonald’s that only sells BBQ stuff. That’s it, that’s all you need to know. It’s a hot bar that’s pick/plate and frayed up like the hospital quality food that it is. You’re better off heading over to the industrial park and finding the guy who smokes rib in the parking lot. That’s real BBQ. This is a just fancy place with a bunch of crap on he wall that sells meat products disguised as BBQ. Two stars for the friendly staff, and the kitschy place. No more for the crap they call food.

I made a Unilocal account just so I could give this place a bad review. I ordered a half chicken plate and it was served to me raw and bloody. When I returned it the girl at the register yelled out«we’ve got another complaint» then showed it to the cook and I heard him say«Ugh that’s disgusting!» Then she came back and asked me if I wanted to order something else. As I was answering her she interrupted me to yell to her friend across the restaurant. Also their bbq sauce game is weak af. It was a very disappointing experience and I’ll never be going back. Wish I could give zero stars

Met a friend here and it was subpar service. We ordered and paid after waiting for over 5 minutes for someone to come help us, we were the only people in line. After waiting 20+ minutes, we went up to check on our order. They had forgotten to do the order and then put us at the back of the line so that we had to wait another 20 minutes to get our food. They were very rude and did not acknowledge customers. The food was ok but the BBQ sauce was watered down too much and made the sandwich soggy. Overall, horrible experience and was not happy with service or professionalism of employees. Would never recommend or go back.

I received a gift card an decided to review this place since I hadn’t had good experiences with pappas for awhile. I ordered my usual, the girl in the drive thru was rushing an not in the friendliest mood. It’s Tuesday I’m taking food home after work, I check my bag I have NOTHINGBUT A POTATO in my bag.(Which I didn’t order) I call very upset an speak to a manager who says he’d fix it right up. I had to DRIVEBACK to the drive thru so they can fix my order(I feel bad for who Evers potato I had someone else’s order was messed up obviously) the manager was VERY understanding an apologetic. He did fix everything right up. The food was delicious an fresh. The only reason I wouldn’t give more stars is just the employees. They’re rude. An they’re messing it up for the customers experience. I get it what teenager wants to work drive thru? It’s not our faults they’re unhappy with their jobs! If she was working efficiently at drive thru you wouldn’t have unhappy customers people come to drive thru for fast speedy efficient service. I’ve learned my lesson. CHECKMYORDER. I will come back because the managers obviously care about their restaurant an the food is good. They just need better customer service! They should ask chickfila how they get such good employees!

Once we got passed the very poor customer service and long wait, we were given our burgers. They were very good and big, my husband and I split one with fries. It’s just so sad that before you get this amazing food, you have to deal with girls at the counter who really don’t care and fling the food baskets at people.

I had a pulled pork Po boy. I was a little disappointed with the flavor but it was still pretty good. Husband had the baked potato it was really good. Mac & cheese was delicious and the cheese over the fries is heavenly

Overpriced, subpar barbecue. I’ve had much better from a food truck and a gas station.

The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the décor. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and had a less than satisfying experience. His sliced beef sandwich was cubed, not sliced, and the meat was so fatty that he had to leave half of it behind. I ordered a ½ chicken dinner, and found the chicken to be both scrawny and overly fatty as well with very little smoke flavor. The only hot side that is worth mentioning are the beans, and only because they had been recently replenished. The green beans on the other hand, had sat under the heat lamps for so long that they were desiccated. The cold sides that I got(cucumber salad and green bean salad) were ok. In short, poor quality and not worth a return trip.

BBQ sauce is very plain… I rather go to a local BBQ spot for real BBQ… Clean and service very friendly

Pretty fed up with this location as they always seem to have a mishap with the service or products. They never have enough product at this location… always out of meat, potatoes, etc., and when your requested item is unavailable, they’ll just try to substitute it with something else without notifying you. I recommend checking your food each time before leaving. The baked potatoes are becoming smaller as the prices increase. Brisket is sometimes dry and too lean, beans and green beans are horrible. This place has been open for about a year now and has become my preferred location since it’s obviously the closest to me. As a place of business, it needs to be evaluated and under new management for much needed improvement and better service.

Food has always been good but service is spotty. I go a few times a month. I typically pick up food for multiple people. Something inevitably gets forgotten. Sometimes it’s a side order. Once, I called ahead and they missed the order entirely. I spoke to the manager and he was really good about the situation and worked with me. Food is good, as expected from a Pappas restaurant. They are fairly new so I expect the service issues to be worked out. Food from breakfast tacos to family packs is good.

Food is/always awesome but must improve on drive through service. Too long of a wait to order with no cars waiting. They take order then say«I’m sorry l be right back» but take forever to come back only to have to take order again… pull over and wait. Don’t mind waiting for fresh food, order process needs work.

Excellent barbeque place from my first time there. The meats are savory, smokey and have a wholesome taste. I got the rib combo to get a taste for all their ribs. It was quite some work, but I was able to finish it all. The food preparation is done on a smooth cycle and makes for a short wait only. The staff that took my order were unfortunately not very focused on taking my order and scooping my sides. But don’t let that hold you back, it was a great meal with a fun atmosphere and lots of seating.

New location looks great! The food is really good. If you are looking for a good place to kick back and enjoy a meal, this is it. The BBQ will make you lick your fingers twice.

I have lived on this side of town for 15 years and was very pleased when I heard we were finally getting a Pappa’s BBQ on our side of town. First couple of weeks they opened it was so crowed it was impossible to dine in so I used the To Go line. That line too took a long time. However now that a couple of months have gone by they have picked up speed and I’m a happy camper. I am disappointed that they DONOT offer strawberry soda fountain drinks and that they are just a little stingy with serving portions, unlike their other locations. Also for a first time I tried their tamales and they had plenty of tasteless meat and were very dry. The salsa that accompanied the tamales was very tasteless and not spicy at all. Not what I expected at all from Pappa’s. I will be sticking to their plates & potatos!

I visited this location on two occasions. I have also visited several other locations. I have to say this location is very stingy with the amount of food served. When I ordered the chopped beef sandwich at other locations the sandwich is running over with meat. The salads at this location was sloppily made with no appeal. Just saying. What is the point in having one close by when you are not satisfied with the quality and preparation of the food. The sandwiches don’t look anytthing like the ones they show in the photos.

I was every excited to see this store coming together so close to where I work! Options for grub on the East side tend to be limited, unless you like lots of Mexican food. Recently though, numerous new storefronts have started to pop up on I-10 for our lunch cravings, including this one. If you haven’t had Pappa’s before, they do a good job with their barbecue across all the regular options. Ribs, pork ribs, briscuit, sausage, etc. I’ve had a good meal every time I’ve eaten in one of their barbecue establishments. Like so many other barbecue joints, I feel that they excel in some meats better than others. My go to plate is the pork trio, which is pork three ways. Ribs, pulled and sausage. You’ll never leave hungry and for barbecue, the prices aren’t too bad either.

First time at this location, was not overly crowded at 12:15 on a Monday. Young lady taking my order was pleasant. Had my usual Bar-B-Q lunch, bake potato w/chopped beef and cheese. Know you might be thinking no butter. At least that is what the young lady making my potato thought since she put butter on it the minute she heard bake po. No worries she gladly made me a new one. Chopped beef was more like pulled pork maybe it was a chuck roast not brisket. All in all though was not bad. Lots of jalapeños is always a plus. The sides looked good may try them next time. Like almost all Papas restaurants was clean and we’ll presented. Will be back.

Went here after my brother’s high school graduation and this was my first time. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed their food and the prices were reasonable! I enjoyed my food even though I’m not a big fan of barbecue places!

I just had lunch at this location. They seem busy all the time. It was time for a Pappas BBQ in this area. The young ladies were very nice. I asked about the beans, they seemed different, so I asked if they were new. One girl had just started and she was unsure so she asked a co– worker. The second young lady explained that they were a new recipe. And even gave me a little history on them. I appreciate the fact that the first young lady took the time to ask someone since she was not sure. The place was clean. The food was great. It was fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be back.
