One of my favorite hang out places ! Very original ! Amazing burgers, great atmosphere!

Interesting place but probably won’t go back. We shared Mr Ho’s Big A Nachos and the Perro Caliente. Nachos were average but not the best. I did quite like the hot dog with the combination of sweet, salty, and a little spicy. The pretzel bun was a nice touch. I also got a coffee, The Shorty was not my favorite, not sure if it was the coffee or the almond agave but it did not suit me at all.

I really really love this place. I got the Lampasas Burger and it was great. They changed the sauce on it, it used to be a Jalapeño Relish, now its a jammy substance that did not fail! Really good edition! I was served by a female named Rachel, she was incredibly helpful and seemed really versed on how to make my old fashioned. Which, by the way, was really amazing! Awesome! To make matters better she also made my glass of water. If you have ever been here the tea and water are self serve, but she went out of her way to serve me, and its the little things like that that count! At the end of our meal a very sweet gentleman named Chase I think picked our plates up and asked how our meal was, which was very surprising seeing as he is a bus boy! That really shows that customer service is something they take pride in! I was also spoken to by the manager on duty Megan, who is such a doll that I got up and gave her a hug because she made me feel so dang special! My only complaint was that I left with absolutely nothing to complain about! Which is a great thing! Keep on Keepin on Onion Creek, you for sure have a lifetime guest here! Toodles!

I was looking for a nice place to enjoy my lunch and decided to come and try this place that everyone has been raving about. Well, I don’t know what took me so long but this place is definitely a hit. The ambience is awesome, not too loud and a menu that everyone can enjoy. I’m not able to stay as long as I’d like to but I’ll definitely be back for the lunch menu!

Two other people I came with ordered the chicken salad and both said their chicken was really really dry. One person didn’t even want to eat the chicken any more and the other had to sip on water after every bite to wash it down. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Chicken was grilled and tossed in buffalo sauce… nothing out the ordinary but enjoyed the portion size — I only finished half. I had no issues with the chicken being dry. I did get a bite of the hotdog and it looks amazing but just tasted like any other chili cheese hotdog to me. Maybe my taste buds were off that day idk. Been here on steak night once maybe a year ago and never came back for it. You have to scavenge for tables bc it gets super busy. The only thing I remember that day was waiting about an hour or more for my food. I can’t even remember what the steak taste like so probably wasn’t that great. Other than that, patio area on a good day is nice… except we’re in Houston so not happening.

I’ve eaten here twice, once during lunch on a weekday and the second time was Sunday brunch. Very impressed with the menu and the Blood Mary I had at the brunch. The food options were great and along with the atmosphere, reflect the neighborhood that surrounds Onion Creek. Would definitely recommend this café to any and everyone.

I visited Onion Creek with my mother and she really liked this place. We had a very good eating, because the lunch and dinner menu is very diverse. We enjoyed the selection of food and everything, what we ordered, was so delicious. I like the taste of Hummus wrap with chicken and latte. My mum was impressed by the atmosphere and interior of the café. It’s very beautiful place with two zones: inside and outside. And it’s a very big advantage of this place. The kitchen is great and the service is fast and friendly. Onion Creek is a Perfect place for lunch and dinner.

Didn’t actually eat there — review based on poor service. Called up on a Saturday morning to clarify if they serve espresso coffees and was hung up on by someone named Alex. There are too many places in Houston for good food to waste my time and money in a restaurant that treats a simple question that way. EDIT — Ate there as everyone said it was a must-try. As just a bar I’m sure it’s great given the selection and variety of booze. Food was OK. Staff behind the counter were aloof and unfriendly. I like the idea of bringing a slice of South Austin to Houston, but leave the smug attitude behind.

The reviewer who said this place feels like it belongs in Austin is smoking crack. I just got a Karbach hefeweizen and was charged $ 6 plus(for some reason) a 50 cent«mixed drink surcharge» in addition. A low-end domestic made here in Houston for half the cost of a great six-pack? No thanks. Hockey on the TV and 90s college rock on the speakers. Meh all around. I’d love to try the food, but if the beer prices are any indication, I’d guess a mediocre cheeseburger is $ 30.

Cashier was nice and helpful. Got the green chile Mac & the Big Nasty Burger. The green chile Mac was good, not spicy and was a good meal size portion although it’s listed as an appetizer. The burger patty was NOT seasoned well at all & was bland. Thank God the toppings made up for it. Another issue was that the tables were dirty & the indoor seating was a little cramped.

I had not eaten here in a while and I was recently reminded why. Have had burgers in the past that were just okay. Tried a breakfast and was really underwhelmed. The coffee was good and so was the toast, but scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry and the potatoes were prepared like French fry cubes(which technically they are, but I thought breakfast potatoes were lightly fried or sautéed). Now I would give the place another star if I wanted to hang outside on the patio and drink a beer, the patio seems nice. But the food… meh.

I always hear great things about this place and seen some photos on instagram from friends. After a night of biking with some friends, we stopped in here because they were one of the few that were open at the time. I never had a Reuben sandwich so I picked it off the list. I split it with a buddy and he was telling me this isn’t a great Reuben to experience first hand. You gotta go elsewhere. I enjoyed what I had and I didn’t think it was that bad. I’ll definitely try a Reuben elsewhere to compare. Everyone else at the table got something different from each other to try. A big nasty, a margherita pizza, and a perro caliente. Everyone at the table said the food was mediocre. Maybe this was a bad night or we weren’t drunk enough to get a satisfaction in taste. I was happy we found food at the time of night though. Maybe, just maybe will I return here to give it another shot.

Decent place to grab brunch and dinner. Went there with friends recently and had drinks on Thursday night. Had some specials, and a delicious frozen drink(Part Mimosa, part Blue moon). Be forewarned: The parking stinks. There’s a small personal lot, but after that, you have to go park in the back neighborhoods. It can also get pretty packed some nights, and you don’t really know until you get there… Service is ok. Not super friendly, but they got the job done. I’d come back to meet friends, but wouldn’t go there from 5 miles away specifically to come. It’s a neighborhood hang-out, and I hate parking on White Oak…

This place is overhyped big time. Do not waste your day here. The place is very sticky and dirty! Fountain area has dirty red cups spills all over counter and floor. Know it’s has patio seating but can they use a disinfectant spay to clean tables? The use left over dirty napkins to clean the tables. WTF!!! Ask a cashier a question they don’t make eye contact much less smile. First and last visit do don’t know if that common. Skip this place if you know basic cleanliness standards– college crowd may not know this place tanks because the patio lures them in.

Came here for Sunday brunch and was met with huge disappointment. Cashier was rude before we even said anything when we got to the counter. I could tell he was stressed out by the growing line of customers behind us but had no reason to let it out on us. Rushed our order too… The barista next to him didn’t see our drink order and didn’t even know about it until he saw me standing for awhile(see I didn’t even ask because I understood they were stressed). I watched him throw everything together sloppily and at one point he probably forgot to add something to one of our drinks and he turned to the cashier and asked and the cashier told him to just forget about it and serve it to us. Not sure exactly what happened but the barista just handed me the drinks rudely and moved onto the next order. TLDR; Basically you might get better service if you don’t come during Sunday brunch because both people at the registers made me feel highly uncomfortable with their rudeness. Also food is very mediocre and rather heavy options for brunch.

Went to Onion Creek on a Saturday for brunch and loved it! After looking at the menu I was surprised at how early they open, but how nice is that for the brunch go-ers that are up early! The parking lot is definitely a bit crowded, but not terrible to find a space close by, and honestly I saw so many people walking/biking over anyway. We got there right around noon and it had a nice crowd. In the hour or so we were there you could tell they would keep a steady crowd until 3. It was a beautiful day so everyone was eating out on the patio, and we were no exception. I love the amount of space their patio has! It’s so nice, and almost all of them get some sunshine! I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and my boyfriend got their Lampasas Burger. He said the burger was«fire.» If you don’t know what fire means, it means that it was possibly one of the best burgers he’s had and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t know that I’d say the Chicken & Waffles was fire, but it was very good! I thought the waffle was awesome, which a lot of places mess up because they’re too focused on the fried chicken, and the chicken was also really good! There wasn’t any unique flavor to it which is why I wouldn’t describe it as «fire,» but it’s a well cooked classic. We shall be back on another beautiful warm weekend to try their Frozen Mimosas and the Breakfast Pizza!

I’ve been coming to this place since I was in HS! Ok, only when my sister that was in college would bring me. Hahaha. Back then I would always order the pizza! Omgosh those things are amazing! Well over the years I’ve explored the menu just a tad bit so I can also say the hot dogs, waffles and migas are a great choice! The frozen mimosas are so good and the frozen mimosa/blue moon is just as great. They have a section that is dog friendly only but overall the location itself has plenty of room whether inside or outside.

Brunch on the weekends from 7AM-2PM. Parking is a bit limited, but there is a few more spots(for Onion Creek guests) in front of the liquor store next to the restaurant. They have a spacious patio which is great for dining out when the weather is gorgeous. Self-serve style. You come in and order at the bar counter. I recommend the breakfast bowl and the brisket sandwich. Breakfast bowl: A layer of cubed potatoes(fried) on queso topped with a fried egg and sour cream on the side of the bowl. It comes with two tortillas that you can use to turn this meal into a burrito. For two more dollars, you can add sausage, bacon, or brisket. I chose brisket and was not disappointed. The brisket was lean and flavorful. The potatoes were very crunchy!!!(7⁄10) Brisket sandwich: It has smoked brisket, tomato, fried egg, a slice of white cheddar cheese and spicy mayonnaise. My boyfriend devoured this sandwich without any hesitation!!! It also comes with a generous amount of cubed potatoes(fried). Great flavor!!!(7⁄10) Their frozen mimosas are refreshing and light. You don’t taste as much of the champagne/ alcohol in them. Customer service is not very good due to the fact that one of the servers are not aware of his surroundings. The server was carrying out some food on a huge plate and touched my boyfriend’s neck! He didn’t even apologize or say«excuse me» so my boyfriend can move out of the way. My boyfriend wasn’t too happy with that incident so he moved his chair next to mine. So watch out if you ever sit at the Pac-Man table.

Perfect for Christmas junkies like me. We get our Christmas fix year-round with patio lights and can watch sports at the same time outside! The OC wins out for combining these two faves with delicious food, which is what gives it a serious edge over the other Creeks. Order at the counter with the friendly staff, and they’ll bring your food to you. The food we had was solid. I normally struggle to convince myself to consume raw lettuce, but the Hummus Wrap($ 10) was KILLER. Tons of flavor and really filling. I made it through half with some of my sweet potato fries(+$ 2) before handing the other half over to a hungry boy with the Boho Bowl($ 15), which reeks of healthy.(Fish was quite overcooked one of the two times we had it, boo.) Hey, here’s a list of daily specials! Though there is a parking lot in the back, parking can be a whole ‘nother story here, so good luck with that… Might need to park and walk. Regardless, Onion Creek is certainly a great place to hang your hat, especially if you live in the area.

Came here for brunch with a few girl friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was pretty full both inside and outside but we managed to find a table outside. I ordered two of the Vedge breakfast tacos and got my Tex Mex fix. The tacos were delicious. Also, the frozen mimosas are a must. Only downfall was the food came out at different times and after about 25 – 30 minutes from the time we ordered.
