After having someone at Regis Salon in the Galleria absolutely wreck my hair, I was so skeptical of ever returning to a salon to get work done. I decided to go local and give Morpheus a try. They didn’t disappoint. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left, it felt like they were reading my mind. I had Amy help and she is amazing! She is so intuitive! I went in there not knowing if I wanted to chop my hair off or keep it long. She gave me advise and wow! So glad I went with her thoughts. I will never go anywhere else.

Amy is simply fabulous! She takes time to listen to her clients’ wishes and concerns, and she works diligently to meet every expectation. She consistently provides excellent service for a reasonable price, and I feel very grateful to have found her! Thanks a million, Amy!

My daughter and I went together for cut and color with Kurt. We loved it! Salon was in a convenient location and adorable, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and best of all we ended up walking out feeling like a million dollars, times two. My teenager is especially hard to please, so I was relieved :-)

So I have been putting off this review because I’m ashamed. Ashamed I cheated on my home salon. My husband in attempts of «thoughtfulness» coupled with the belief that I spend too much on a hair cut, bought me a groupon for Morpheus. Agreeing to give them a chance is where it all went wrong. Service was nice, stylist was nice and the salon was small but cute. Cut was horrendous, more than a failure, a disaster. The results from a time I was in a bind and went to Supercuts for a bang trim I would take before I came back to Morpheus. Really I would let my little sister cut my hair if she was 5 years old again before I came back to Morpheus. So here’s how it is. I have a completely different hair cut on one side of my head from the other. One side is smooth layers that come to a natural flowing point the other is choppy thick square layers. The bangs are botched beyond belief. They are straight bangs from the left side of my face up until the middle of my right eye, then all of the sudden they are a whole inch longer tapering down until the other end of my face they are almost four inches longer on one side. I had the choppy layers walking in, which I have trouble styling and I asked for them to be made more natural. Clearly the stylist did half my head and decided«fuck it, I don’t feel like doing this anymore.» I knew things were bad when she tried to style my bangs and all they would do is stick straight out. She went over them five different times with different methods to make them stay down. At the time I was laughing at the absurdity. I told her my bangs have never ever done this before. She took responsibility under her breath, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. She knew what she had done, She didn’t give me a chance to look at the back just said we were done and walked off to the front desk. Well I had the feeling that it was bad when the bangs we so obvious. I didn’t realize how bad until I got home. My hair is only ever in a pony tail and every morning when I wake up my bangs are sticking straight out again. I have a natural part on both sides of my head so I can always part it either way. Somehow the way it was cut neither way works anymore, which I just don’t understand. Just at my end on how bad it is. I know everyone has to notice how bad it is when my 90 year old Grandmother asked what horrible thing happened to me. I haven’t contacted the salon to make them fix it because if it’s this bad they shouldn’t be given the second chance to even touch it. As of now I’m still too ashamed to go to home salon to help me. I feel like a dog that ate its own poo.

Wish I would have read these views about Naomi before allowing her to touch my hair. Now looks like I have a rat tail and super tangly, split end hair. Completely damaged. My hair hasn’t been this badly damaged before. I went in with long, healthy highlighted hair to get highlights and a trim. The color turned out okay, but a little heavy. My cut is a whole other story. It’s a lot shorter than«half an inch off» … more like 4 inches off. I hardly had any split ends before I got a cut, and after my cut, the next day, I had tangly, stringy hair and a million split ends. Additionally, I have fine, long hair. After shampooing, she used a paddle brush on my wet hair. WTF. I knew I should have said something. My hair hardly had any frizzies /broken strands, but my hair was broken so much from the damage being done while using a paddle brush right after shampooing, that I have SO many frizzies /broken hair strands ALLOVERMYHEAD. It’s really embarassing since it’s a thick layer of broken strands that surrounds my hairline. I will NOT return to this place or recommend it. I’d go to Supercuts before going back here. It’s been over a week since I got it done before a wedding and I still want to cry when I think about it.

Bought a Living Social voucher. Noemi was my stylist. I came out of that place looking worse than I went in. Horrible haircut, she layered only in the back. Horrible, horrible. The highlights were pathetic also. The lighting in that place is so poor, it makes you look 10 years older than you are. Depressing.

I also had my hair butchered by Naomi. I wish I would have read these reviews before letting her touch my hair! I have very thick hair. This is the first time since I was in high school that I can see my layers, like i did it myself. It looks horrible! I won’t be going back to have her fix it! The living social coupon is going to end up costing me more money!

I had the exact same experience happen as the person who posted for 5÷26÷11. I guess Naomi is on a roll with ruining long hair. Mine is RUINED and I also told her NOT to cut too much. Now I have to get several correction cuts. Her license should be revoked!!!

I just used a Living Social deal at Morpheus for color, cut, style. The color is pretty good. My stylist was Naomi. The hair cut is the WORST haircut I have ever had in my life. I had to go and get it fixed the very next week. At the place where I went to get it fixed, several of the stylists were just looking at my hair in awe. They wondered if she used a razor or what she did because my ends looked like they hadn’t been cut in years. My hair was so uneven. It looked like I had a tail. I am trying to grow out my hair but really need to get a lot of it cut off to fix what Naomi did. I was hoping to have long hair for the summer, but that wont happen. The stylist trying to fix it cut off the minimum that she could so that I could still have long hair. She told me to go and get some vitamins to make my hair grow faster because she couldn’t fix everything without cutting a lot off. That is how bad Naomi messed up my hair. There are still layers of my hair that look like they havent gotten cut in years. I will NEVER go back to Morpheus. The best salons that I have ever found are Aveda salons. No matter which Aveda salon you go to or which stylist you get– they are consistently good. If you want to get a hair cut and then look at your hair and have it look like you DESPERATELY need a hair cut– go to Naomi. You will have the most split ends you’ve ever seen.

I moved from Dallas recently and have been in search of my HG stylist for awhile. Honestly I have been on the verge of sucking it up and driving back to Dallas on occasion… After this cut, was one of those occasions. I live near to this salon and drive by it on an almost daily basis, so when I saw a LivingSocial deal I snapped it up. I called to make my appt and of course they were booked out for 3 weeks with all of the coupon users which wasn’t an issue. I also requested Kurt the owner thinking that would be my best bet for a good cut and color. I asked for caramel brown highlights on my dark hair and they came out reddish brown instead. The placement of them was very nice and the color wasn’t bad so I didn’t complain. It grew on me over the weeks to follow as well so it was fine. Now the cut… I hate it. I hated it when it was done and I still hate it now. I was growing my long hair out and needed a cut that would help transition it from it’s medium length to longer gracefully. Instead I got a top with long layers that then stops and has about a two inch difference from there to the bottom length of hair. This causes the bottom of my hair to flip outwards like a bad 60s bob. Then my bangs… I wanted soft sideswet bangs. It looked like they were going there then suddenly the texturizing scissors came out and made them into a thick and choppy mess. I have now been pinning them back from my face waiting for them to grow out. No more bangs for me until I find someone that I can trust. Another thing that irked me about this place was there was very limited personal interaction and interest. This should have alerted me to expecting a less than stellar experience from the start. When the stylist doesn’t seem invested in you as a person, they definitely won’t be investing in making sure you look your most beautiful. Sorry but I won’t be returning.

I’ve been trying to get my hair to an Anne Hathaway chocolate brown for the past year to no success at various places, some with good reviews on Unilocal, and some with not-so-many reviews on Unilocal. This train passed through Morpheus, then looped through again, with less than pleasing results. The first time, I described what I wanted to Naomi. After she rinsed it out, it looked like it didn’t take, as I could feel my scalp tingling more than it would with the application of shampoo and she was probably applying more color. Finally, she rinsed out my hair and said she liked the way it’d turned out. It was a reddish brown, and not what I had wanted, but it looked good, and Naomi got points for actually working to get it to a different color(I’ve gone to salons where they’ve turned my highlighted hair to all-black – my natural hair color). For my haircut, I knew I wanted bangs of some sort. I’ve had variations of sideswept bangs intermittently in the past, so I wanted some blunt, choppy bangs. I told Naomi this, and she then gave me really thing sideswept bangs. At the end of it all, I got the bangs I wanted, though it took several tries(«No, blunt, and choppier – straight across.» «I actually want it straighter further across to the side, up to here.»). However, though I liked my hair, and I got several compliments on my hair in the following days, I was a little annoyed with how thick it was on one side and wanted my bangs a little more textured. As I thought these would be minor fixes, and would take no more than five minutes, I called and asked to come in again. Naomi had a coloring appointment, so I was told to come in at 5pm(«5pm or 5:15pm?» «No, 5pm, as she can get you then.»). I showed up at 5pm, waited half an hour, and then spent 15 minutes in the chair. Like my previous experience, it took several goes, but to less happy results. The first go, I think«less thick on the side» was interpreted as «a little more layered.» The real problem was my bangs. I had to look down when my bangs were getting cut(«I like them and the length, I just want it less thick»), and when I looked up, my bangs were much shorter(1.5″ above my eyebrows) and in a u-shape, rather than straight across right above my eyebrows. When I pointed out that they were in a u-shape and shorter, Naomi said that it wasn’t shorter, since she didn’t cut them shorter(but…they’re shorter!), and then went ahead and cut the other side so it was less of a u-shape. I almost cried, but then I had to go to work, where my co-workers gleefully pointed out the hair on my chest(«You’re really hairy.» «Girl, you need to get a rag and wipe yourself off.») and how I looked more cartoonish(«Japanimation» another said). The latter was especially funny(in a tragic way), as I had been huffy with Anthony N. when he’d said I looked more Asian with my previous bangs. Warren A. later told me he was upset with me for changing my bangs so drastically. What? I’m the one that’s upset here! I just wanted it less thick, not chopped off. I can’t even wear headbands, because my bangs are so short, they’d poke up underneath like a lion’s mane. Rawr! But with its mane cut really short, so more of a meow. Lesson learned: If the hair turned out good the first time because you had to walk the stylist through it, then you shouldn’t go back expecting a minor adjustment to be pretty clear-cut(pun intended).

Again, another great find via Unilocal!I read a bunch of great reviews about Amy and gave it a whirl. I called first to see if they use Schwartzkopf color, which they do. The owner took time to discuss my needs and to take down the formula for my color so that they would be prepared. When I arrived, Amy and the owner both took time to look at my hair and talk to me about what I wanted. They are friendly and professional. I really appreciate the attention to detail and the care that they took. Amy did a great job! The color held up very well, and the cut was brilliant. I just went back for my second appointment and have received nothing but compliments on my hair. I went a little shorter this time, after talking with Amy about styles I like and what is involved in achieving them. She hooked me up with a very nice 1920s style bob — a perfect, low-effort, smart look. All in all, a great experience and a place I recommend.

I found Morpheus through a web search and decided to give it a shot based on a 20% off coupon on citysearch, so I was a little dubious going in. I ended up getting 14 inches chopped(which was neatly packaged for me for Locks of Love), going from waist length hippie hair to a chin length layered bob. I love it! Amy did a great job, and she took out just the right amount of weight(my hair is obscenely thick) so that it has volume, but isn’t frizzy or helmet-esque. Everyone was very friendly, but not overly chatty, and Amy took her time thinking about my hair texture and volume and planning her cut accordingly. Over the last month or so, my hair has grown out well, and actually has been pretty easy to style. Amy also took care to leave it just long enough so that I can pull it back when I can’t even spare *am too lazy to spend** the 5 – 10 minutes it takes to blow-dry it. By the way, I am a girl in my mid-twenties with a young professional look.
