Monarch Launderers & Dry Cleaning

Worse place ever! This place messed up buttons on shirt, replaced them without telling and never called. To make it worse, they were rhinestone buttons & replaced them with plastic buttons. Refused to refund.

Ive been going to Monarch since I moved back to Houston in 2008. Always a great and pleasant experience!

I wish I could write about Monarch Cleaners actual dry cleaning services but I can’t because we walked out without dropping our clothes off. We went to Monarch because of their on-​line deal of «This Month’s Specials
Shirts laundered for $ 0.99 with any three pc. of dry cleaning». It had been quite some time since my guy had been to the cleaners and we had about 15 shirts to be laundered and thought that this was a good deal. In addition to the shirts he had 3 suits, a sport coat, and an additional pair of pants and I had 3 dresses and a pair of slacks. The girl working at the desk told us that the deal wasn’t valid because the owner didn’t have the password to his website (that generally happens when they don’t pay the web designer) and he was not able to take the monthly deal down. She then quoted us a price of $ 5.30 a shirt! Are you kidding me! We obviously walked out and returned to Prism Cleaners. While it is a little bit of a drive to them we have always received quality service at a very reasonable price. Monarch you need to figure out how to fix your website or at least honor your posted deals until you can.

I am a MOM, I have three children who keep me very busy. My husband has company events where we the family are out together. Looking and feeling proper is very important in our house. Monarch delivers to my home for free while not placing me on a weekly schedule. All I do is call their driver and he then gets my garments and linens. Cleaning of our linens has never been easier, not to mention sanitary. I wish I had more time to tend to such things, but I’m more than pleased with Monarch. They have freed up my time to spend with the kids. I am reading that the price is high for many, but when a cleaners damages a pricey garment because they lack care or professionalism, then you (the customer) ends up paying more. In all our EIGHT years with Monarch, never once an issue or situation has came up. They have been off Washington for over 15 years, way before the recent bar/​club craze along Washington. If I am not mistaken the Monarch name has been in Houston since the 40s.

no wonder they don’t post their prices… yikes! most expensive dry cleaner i’ve ever been too.
and the fact that my clothes weren’t ready when the receipt said they would be didn’t make the price worth it.
nor was i pleased about trekking back there again to finally get my clothes.
even the woman at the front who works there told me «i’ve never worked at a dry cleaners that charged this much!»
will never go back… i suggest finding another place.

This place robbed me. 1 dress $ 23 to dryclean only. Enough said.

Monarch used to be my regular dry cleaner since it is right down the street and on the way to work. I figured that as a large and established dry cleaner, I could trust them with my clothes.
Well, I had the coolest, most favoritest pair of pants ever, dark gray with a subtle but crazy velvet-​like pattern on them. They were a real stretch for me, as you are most likely to see me in jeans and a t-​shirt, or if going to work, in slacks and a solid color button-​down shirt. These pants were dry clean only, no press, and such was stated plainly on the label. Plus, Monarch had cleaned them before.
But, alas, they had one dry cleaning trip too many. They got pressed and were pretty much ruined. The pattern basically melted down and looked like mush. Monarch gave me a refund for the cleaning but not without sulking about it. I don’t know what they thought $ 3 was going to buy me anyway.
I haven’t been back since then, having taken my business to West End Cleaners is also right around the corner and on the way to work.
