The drinks were way to creamy and sweet to start off. This was my first time coming here and the lady at the register was beyond rude and not friendly. It seemed like she didn’t want to be there. I didn’t feel welcomed, but there are many other tea houses around Houston so I’m not worried. Not going back here unless I have no choice.

I like this place. At first The Teahouse on Shepherd was my go to spot when I had a craving for some tea and boba, but now it’s this place. The drinks are never overly sweet, which I love. So far I have tried their mango tea, passion fruit tea, and the sunrise pineapple tea. All have been lovely. Their boba is awesome. It’s always a good consistency(not too guey or too firm) and just the right amount of sweetness, but sometimes I wish they’d use more… but perhaps that’s just because I think it tastes so yummy! The parking at this place is not ideal, but considering the area that is to be expected. While there isn’t much available right outside, I typically just go park at Half Price books and cross the street. All in all, my boyfriend and I visit frequently and I do not see that changing in the future.

Tea is good. Owner is quite the penny pincher. He’s annoying to the point where every time I come here I regret it. They keep on denying the stamp card they give out. First it was only large cups get a stamp. Now the cards are«too old» even though there isn’t an expiration date on it. I’m not coming back. There’s too many tea houses in Houston.

The drinks are good but wow the service is reaaaaaaalllly bad… I’m talking about slow, incompetent, and confused staff with no sense of urgency. I’ve been here a total of 3 times. You can read about my first experience below. On my second visit, it took the girl at the front 10 minutes to place my order correctly(tapicoa, less sugar, no ice). After we FINALLY got it right, I was told they were out of tapioca… On my last visit, the ordering process was a lot faster, but again NOTAPIOCA wtf! We waited about 15 minutes for two drinks because not one, but TWO groups that ordered after me received their drinks first. Oh c’mon get with the program here. I got places to go, things to do. Not okay.

I’m a major fan of milk tea and tapioca and was really happy when Kung Fu Tea opened a location in Montrose! It’s usually pretty empty inside, but parking can be a bit of a hassle since there aren’t very many spots. The drinks are comparable to the one located in Chinatown. You can adjust the amount of ice and sweetness for each drink too. My go to drink is the oolong milk tea with tapioca. I get it with less sugar so the tea flavor is more prevalent. Their tapioca is soft and chewy and has a good amount of honey on it to sweeten the drink a little more. I have had a few times where the bubbles were a little too hard though, so it’s not always consistent. Overall, really glad that they have a location within the city for when I crave it at work!

Cash or Visa/MasterCard with a $ 5 minimum charge. Parking was not an issue for me found one right in front, though I can see its pretty limited so it quite possibly cause some slight headaches. I opted to try just the tea, as I noted everyone saying how wonderful the boba was I figured if the drink alone is a seller I’ll come back and try out the so talked about«boba.» Ordered a Large Oolong Milk Tea($ 4.00) and with that opted out chewy deliciousness(again per other Unilocalers) I choose to dabble in enjoying a Green Daifuku red bean cake($ 1.85 of pure chewy goodness with all its cautionary warning to chew thoroughly before swallowing — definitely missed me some red bean!) Definitely want to try their red beans in the drinks as I just further red that was an option. Overall the milk tea was really good and the red bean cake was thoroughly chewed and enjoyed! Its very quiet, I would assume a great place to read or study. Even the service is beyond quiet, I’m sorry I made you repeat yourself, but I cant hear that low of a decibel you are speaking at.

I always enjoy coming here and usually forgot that their 2nd location is open in my neighborhood now. It doesn’t have a top notch rating on Unilocal, but it’s just as good as the Teahouse, if not better. It is definitely more modern, even though they have an old style bathtub and faucets inside at the entrance. It’s not actually old and made of cast iron + porcelain, but acrylic instead. Pictures on the wall are for sale, similar to other coffee and tea places in Houston. As far as drinks, my favorites are the milk teas and passion fruit green tea. Service has always been friendly each visit. I have never had a problem with parking.

It’s close by, which is a plus. Their boba has always had good texture, which is good, too. The sense of humor from the ladies at the register is usually lacking, though. I guess they’re not there to crack jokes but really… a smile wouldn’t hurt. :) Parking is abysmal, though.

SO excited to have another choice for milk tea when I’m in the area. Sadly, this was a disappointing visit. I took the last of the limited parking spots in front of the store. The employee stared blankly(perhaps annoyed?) while I perused their menu despite us being the only ones in «line.» I broke under the pressure and ordered the wintermelon milk tea. Unfortunately, the tea itself was flavorless. So, wintermelon milk would have been a better name. In addition, your bill will be charged the minimum $ 5 if you want to use a credit card. The redeeming quality is that their plastic seals over the cups do not tear as easily as the other tapioca places. Backing out of the sloped parking spot, a beaming beamer almost smacked into me. Be careful!

The inconsistency of this place is a complete turn off. Some days they have boba and some days they don’t. Some days the drinks are overly sweet and some days they taste completely watered down. Some days they take the stamp card and some days they don’t. The list goes on, but it is really getting to the point where I do not even want to be a patron of this business anymore. Don’t get me wrong, the milk tea is great when it’s right, but I’ll never know when I get a good batch or a bad batch. Paying $ 5 for a drink is simply not worth it here. Seems like this place is really going down hill. The employees here could really learn some customer service skills; they always look upset and as if I am bothering them by placing my order. Today was definitely the last time I set foot in this place.

It’s nice to have another tap place this far away from Chinatown. It’s very roomy. Parking is lacking. They sometimes have a food truck here, although I’ve never been at said times. One time I came on a weekday afternoon, and we had to wait a bit for the tapioca pearls. It’s never crowded like the one in Chinatown.

5 dollar minimum for credit card, nobody carries cash anymore and most of these drinks fall under 5… watching people in line ask their friends for change –__________– drinks are good, customer service is so poor.

This is the first time I’ve been to this location and it’s definitely less crowded compared to the Bellaire location. It was a nice place to chill, have some tea, and chit chat. Other than that, if you’ve been to the Bellaire location, the drinks are the same.

After firmly disliking this place for the LONGEST time, I am now their biggest fan. I have had it every day this week so far(not even joking). I ain’t mad at it. Going to keep my review for KFT short. Oolong milk tea. That is all.

Just open not so long ago, and this place seems to be run by just one single person — he/she takes the order and then make the drinks. Not every efficient and we had to wait for a long time(compared to other drink places). But the drinks are as good as other Kung Fu Tea. $ 5 minimum for credit card.

I had the mango slush w/boba and thought it was pretty tasty and refreshing. My boyfriend had the bubble milk tea and commented that it was good and he liked it. He’s usually not a fan of boba and requested for no boba with his tea, but they ended up giving it him anyway and he decided against complaining about it. It worked out in his favor since he said that their boba is actually good. However, I have to say customer service was definitely lacking. The girl who took my order just did not look happy to be there and was not very friendly. For this reason, I am not exactly yearning to go back to this place anytime soon.

Their tea actually has a strong tea flavor rather than a powder flavor. However flavors are limited and their boba has honey in it. The first time I came here I thought it was pretty good. The second time I came here the guy was new and completely messed up my milk tea. It tasted like water and I asked them to remake it. They used my straw to taste the problem and then used the same drink and added the missing sugar. I thought it was a little unsanitary that they drank from my drink and didn’t just remake the whole thing. The drink still didn’t taste like it did last time. I understand there will be discrepancies but at least train your staff to know how to make the most basic drink at any bubble tea place, milk tea. Update: I came here a few more times pretty satisfied but this time that same employee who messed up my drink was making my drink again. I was thinking oh god hopefully he learned a thing or two but he didn’t. I was watching him make it and he messed up and had to open up the drink and redo it. Then when I got home and took a sip it was not what I had ordered. It was awful tasting. Even my BF agreed who in the world would order this. I ordered the yogurt orange juice but I think the guy made me a yogurt grapefruit. Nothing I can do now but throw it away. Did not want to give this place 1 star but that employee is seriously needing some help.

This place ruined all boba milk tea places for me…(Obvs besides all the places in Taiwan!!) It’s just so real, NOT powdery tasting, rich, and… amazing lulz It’s always a plus when you have the option of choosing the sugar content in your drink. They have a cool shakey machine which may be the reason why their boba is so good??? The menu can be overwhelming at times especially when there’s like 20 people behind you. Note that this location has very limited parking.

There’s very little parking out in front, but the inside ambiance is nice and comfy. There are these large squishy couches, as well as some tables to work. I got a grapefruit green tea and an oolong milk tea, both without sugar, without ice, and without toppings. The grapefruit green tea I think is literally grapefruit juice with green tea, and while it was refreshing, the green tea flavor definitely could have been stronger. Also there were a lot of small grapefruit seeds floating in the tea. The oolong milk tea had an odd flavor; do they use actual milk here as opposed to the powder people usually use? The milk taste was very strong, and I think the tea flavor could have been much better. These were somewhat expensive for the large size; they were almost $ 4.50 post-tax. Cash-only for under $ 5, which means basically no card for one drink. They also have stamp cards!

Thank Goodness they don’t have the diva gentleman from Bellaire here! The cashier was so nice. I didn’t know what to drink and she asked if I like beer. She recommended Oolong Tea. It was good, I’ve never really tried Oolong before. I didn’t try the boba but got grass jelly. I wished they chopped it up, because it was hard to drink big globs of jelly –Parking is a little tight –There’s a soap store on the right side. kinda odd but I got suckered in and bought a few items. Got some boba & gift shopping!
